It annoys me that this is the only way to get sleep tracking on a WearOS device - a paid app. Unlike every other wearable on the planet that has sleep tracking built-in. Unless I'm mistaken?

    • Fossil gen 5 and Tic Watches have sleep tracking apps, But battery hoggers

    • Yep, sold my Gen 5 fossil for a galaxy watch, has everything you need except google assistant (easily) haha.

    • Google Fit does have sleep tracking, but I'm unsure if it can record the data itself or it has to be fed it from another app. I had a Mi Band awhile ago and used another app to feed the Mi collected sleep data to Fit.

      • Yep my old $30 Mi Band 4 collected sleep data pretty well. I moved onto a Fossil Sport (I think gen 4) with WearOS because I wanted Google Assistant & NFC, and I'm pretty much regretting it.

I was shocked that it didn't come with sleep tracking without a 3rd party app. Didn't even think to research that part before buying it.

The slightly slow navigation and daily charging I was aware of and sort of accept. And I've used the NFC a grand total of once - it's just quicker to pull out a credit card to pay.

If Mi Band 6 comes with an option to control a smart home (maybe Alexa or custom menu) and blood oxygen tracking, I'll be jumping back over. NFC would be nice too.

        • Yep. I have amazfit GTR and this app. Heaps of features and a 3 week battery life. Wear OS is garbage and I got a faulty samsung watch.

  • Any point getting this if I'm using a Garmin Watch/Garmin Connect?

    • Nope

I believe it does support Garmin watches, but if they have built-in sleep tracking, and you're happy with it already, then I guess not.

      Yes*

If you are asking about sleep tracking, then you'll get much more reliable results with HR and a sensor on your person.

What isn't accounted for is the advanced alarm features on this app for one.
There are alarms that you need to answer a maths question, or scan a QR or barcode.
Heck there is even a push-up alarm that you need to crank out some reps to prove you're awake.
There are flexible rules on snoozing and how many times.
There are smart alarms based on the hour you sleep.
There are integrations with smart lights (Google Home can now do this through "routines" too, but this one has had it for ages)

There are many more features I don't use as I have a setup I am happy with (vibrate alarm before using speaker, max 3x snooze with a maths problem to dismiss the alarm)

      • The advanced alarm could be hella helpful after having a long night out.

    • See Diji's link below or in the description and the answer may be in there.

Compatibility list for wearables for those who wondering if it'll work with their bands/watches.

Asked the Mods to add that link to the description. Good on ya.
