Anyone a fan of these? I would love to be blown away from reading your cool reviews.

  • Can I ask what's difference between DC and standing fan we have at home? They say it's quieter? well my fan is not that loud I reckon……

    • DC fans use up to 70% less energy than an AC fan. DC fans are generally faster to respond to the remote control, have more speed options and have the reverse function on the remote. DC motors are often more compact and lighter, allowing for a sleeker motor design.

My Kogan DC fan has many levels of fan speed. You can't hear anything from the fan when its fan speed is at the lowest level and it really blows cooler air comparing to a AC fan.

you mean when AC fan is in fan-only mode and not actually cooling?

AC = Alternating Current (as opposed to aircon)

@Strahany: lol totes missed that. ta for clearing
still not sure how a fan (DC/AC/unobtainium) can blow cooler air without first passing that air through a device that does the cooling. moving air on its own won't cool it, will it?

@inamberclad: the theory behind an air circulator is does just that circulates air. It is not 'cooling' per say it is shifting air from different areas of the room where it could be slight difference in temperatures. so theory is the colder air at the bottom is circulated with the hotter air at the top making it 'feel' cooler.
It can help with air con efficiency.

          • @Strahany: @Strahany: Do you plug this to the AC wall outlet? Or do you require a AC/DC converter? Thanks

    • Pro:
I use this fan for the bedroom, because I wanted a very light breeze.
Lots of control over speed, angle, oscillation.
The lowest setting is very quiet. So much so that i forget it is on.

      Cons:
The LEDs are bright, but there's a button on the remote to turn off the LEDs, no button on the fan itself.
There is a slight idle hum when the unit is on.

      • agree.
however the slight idle hum for mine is only when it is oscillating from side to side

  • Shows up as $69.99 when you add to cart.

    • Same for me is there code to get $49.99

      • It was $49.99 but they've changed the price. Was contemplating so missed out..
