I'm actually just fishing for reviews, anyone have any experience with these?

        Hey, what goes around…

        • -8

So I guess you’re looking to get blown for under $49?

  • -5

    elllllllllllllllllllll gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarbage.

    Just get a Vornado fan.

    • +3

So you're suggesting not getting this possibly shit fan to get a verifiable shit fan for three times the price? Seems like sound advice there.

      • -4

Its more likely to catch fire, kogan branded items are designed to be cheap and nasty.

        • +3

Well the pedestal DC fan is widely thought of as good.
And fan wars by those with no experience are so 2017.

        • Then save it for winter. Cheap heater!

  • -3

They are not designed to be cheap and nasty, they are cheap and nasty. The only solid thing about them is Kogans efforts to stop you getting your money back. But thanks for the post OP Kogan.

So have you used the fan, or are you just taking the opportunity to bag Kogan?

  • What's the warranty. Vornado 5yrs

    • You can option up a 5 year warranty for $18 extra

I've had one for probably about a year now. Pretty happy with it. Puts out a lot of air for a small fan. Reasonably quiet especially on the lower settings. It has gotten a bit louder over time, though still quieter than my larger tower and pedestal fans. One thing I really like about it is how adjustable the speed is. Goes 1-8, with 1 being very quiet. Also you can turn off the LCD if you use it in the bedroom like I do.

Have had no issues so far with reliability. There is no way I'd pay $100 more for a vornado.

If I could change one thing with it I'd like the vertical oscilation to go lower than horizontal so it could be put up higher and reach lower parts of the room. I haven't found a pedestal/desk fan that can do this yet though.

    Happy to answer any questions.

    • Hi joshk, does it remember its last used settings? I've got the pedestal DC fan and it's annoying that it doesn't remember its last used settings.

      • Hey sorry for the delayed response - I didn't get a notification that you had commented.

To answer your question - yes it does remember its last setting when you turn it off using the power button.

    • I've got an older vornado model that can be pivoted to any angle vertically. Can turn it a complete 360 (probably a bit more before the power cable would start getting stuck). Not sure if the newer models do this. It can't be turned horizontally at all but I just shift the whole thing base and all.

      • What model?

    • What is Sleep and Eco mode like on your fan? The Sleep mode on mine is the same as the Natural Mode and the Eco mode is just like Normal mode on speed 4

I have one, got it nearly a year ago. It's virtually silent at low speed though quite noisy at full speed - but is powerful for its size. It seems well built, and has not given me any problems.

  • +2

Using one at the moment, apart from the noise at high speed can't really fault it.

  • Thanks OP, ordered one :-)

  • +1

The fan is almost silent on the first two speeds and unlike the pedestal fan, it remembers its previous setting as long as it’s not unplugged. Its display also shows the room temperature and the display and beeps (when adjustments are made) can be turned off via the remote. Overall I’ve very happy with the fan and would recommend it to anyone seeking a small bedroom or office fan.

I’ve only had mine a couple of weeks and would like to ask others that have the fan what the Sleep and Eco modes are like on theirs. The Sleep mode on mine is no different to the Natural Mode and the Eco mode is just like Normal mode on speed 4.
I’m happy with normal mode alone but have wondered if the sleep and eco modes are working properly on my unit.

  • Are you meant to put them on the floor or on a desk?

    • +1

The fan is only around 35cm high so it’s best to place it on a desk, table etc. I have mine on a 2 drawer filing cabinet.
I guess you could place it on the floor if you like given the flexibility of its oscillation, but it’ll look a bit strange down there in a room full of furniture.

  • Im wondering what the voltage of the motor is?

    • +1

      100 to 240 v

      28 w

      • Surprisingly high power consumption for such a tiny fan.

Even the 40cm dc fan is only 30watts flat out.

        • Um it’s not so tiny… it’s not an USB fan.

It’s face is 30 cm in dia. Won’t be surprised if both have the same motor inside!

    • It cant be 240volts if it a DC motor… the question was about the actual motor inside , not the fan.

  • so is this even worth it? or rather just spend on vornado or dimplex?

  • Guys just received the fan today, it’s pretty powerful for its size.

Only issue I have the the electrical whine when at low speeds. Does anyone else have his issue?

    • +1

Mine came today as well, no whining or any other unexpected noises.

Sorry to hear about yours :(

    • Got mine today as well! works well so far and on whining. Only loud at the higher speeds. The remote is handy

    • I just noticed some whine when horizontal oscillating is turned on, can't hear it with vertical only or when it's all off (most of the time). It's not too bad though and the pitch is rather mild, I thought it was a mechanical noise at first.

  • i went ahead and purchased one for my bedside table based on the awesome reviews here.

  • Buy!!!!! its a rippa, very pleased
