That is the introductory rate for new customers for 4 months. After that it is 4.75%.
UBank is higher (6.11%) with $200/mth min deposit set up. (else 5.61%)
But you get the BONUS $30 with ING! "The cash bonus will be credited to your account within the first two weeks following your first deposit being made."
(Take the money & run before 4 months!)
This is not such a good deal. As mentioned before, you can get a consistent 6.11% rate from ubank and consistent 6.25% from Beirut Hellenic Bank
move your money into ING for 4 months, get the bonus $30, move it back once the introductory rate finishes. You don't have much to lose.
If you can be bothered constantly opening new accounts you're better of going with Virgin Money who give 6.12% for 4 months and $50 cash bonus.
Virgin requires a deposit of $1000 each month for 3 months.
u can open it [if ur new] just for the $30 right? just dep $1 and trf back $31?
In my experience with ING Direct the cash bonus I got was instantaneous.
you can get 6.11% rate from ubank. Also i don't like companies that give better benefits to new customer than to loyal customers.
ing have had lots of existing-customer promotions in the past…
yes with $40 and even $50 bonus.
I got a $123 bonus from them years ago - 'as easy as 1 2 3' promotion. Was pretty awesome as a uni student!
if you already have an ING account before and close it… Does it make you a new customer when you open again?
I'd like to know this too :)
I have an everyday account with ing, so technically I am already with them but don't have the savings maximiser, so if I was to open one up, will I be entitled?
What have you got to loose? It takes about 60 seconds to open a Savings Maximiser from the internet banking so it's worth a shot.
Well I am a memeber of ing and I can not get the savings maximizer bonus even though I do not have a savings maximizer account yet, I simply have an orange everyday. I looked everywhere on the website and all they would offer me when I was logged in was 4.75% which is not enough.
It is not clear, but I think the normal rate is 4.75%. 6.1 is certainly good at the moment.
