Myprotein sent me this to one up their current Click Frenzy deal. Instead of 50% off, you get 52% off storewide at Myproten. Free shipping when you spend $100 or more. It's for the duration of Click Frenzy so finishes at 12AM on 13 Nov.

Not really a supplement user myself. I am actually looking for post-run/cardio recovery supplements so I'll feel less fatigue for the rest of the day. I heard that I need a mix of carb & protein — but which exact product?

Update: It appears that the free shipping is no longer at $100 minimum spend but at $150. They also changed that for the Click Frenzy deal.

Better to use 50% off and then 8.4% cash back from SB

    • any reason you cant use the 8.4% cash back wiith SB with this deal?

      • +1

Ozb code from this deal isn't listed on SB site so could invalidate the cashback

        • +2

@tightarse - could we use this code with CR?

          • +4

@Ultramup: I don't know how to tell you this but, this isn't twitter…

    • +1

Better to use 50% off with 9.0% cashback from cash rewards. Unless we can get confirmation that the 52% off stacks…

      • Oh I see..
But in saying that, this only requires $100 purchase and not 150 like their other deals, for free shipping

Do these guys really source their whey from China?

    • +1

Where did you read that. China milk is no good.

      • +10

I used the chat function on their website and one of their support reps confirmed that they source their whey from China. I was surprised with his response and asked to confirm and he came back with the same answer. I am thinking it is processed in China with whey from another country. But even processing in China is dodgy. I've got a screenshot of the chat.

          The next big question.

          Does Melamine help with gainz?

    • +16

      China! No whey..

    • EU labelling regulations would surely prevent doing that without disclosure.

      • Haven't bought from these guys before so can't confirm what's on the packaging. Have you found anything on the packaging which says where the whey is sourced from?

        • +1

Well I just looked at my Clear Whey Isolate tub (the only thing I had handy) and there's no country of origin listed at all. A quick google suggests that the EU (and the UK) don't have mandatory country of origin labelling. I just assumed they'd have regulations for it. My apologies.

  • Flavour suggestions for the impact whey? I'm really sensitive to sweetness and really chemical flavours.
Currently using Optimum Nutrition - Double Rich Chocolate which is pretty good.

    • I'm really sensitive to sweetness and really chemical flavours.

So you want it to be sweet, or not sweet?

I have had their Vanilla and their Salted Caramel. The Salted Caramel is pretty good. The Vanilla is okay.

    • I've tried a few from them, my favourite is milk tea. The only thing that is bearable to me mixed with water. Taste is pretty subtle with 1 scoop and not very artificial tasting.

      • +1

I just got an order from these guys and to me they taste a little sweeter and more artificial than than the two aus companies I've used, bulk nutrients / powders. Agree on the milk tea.

        • Hmm it's weird that in all my googling nobody mentioned the milk tea, but I've heard it mentioned on Ozb a few times.
Tossing up between milk tea and unflavoured now. I don't care much about flavour, I just need to not gag haha
My body has trouble processing sugar so unfortunately mixing into a fruit smoothie isn't an option.

    • None then, I find all their flavours to taste chemically.

    • Compared to ON Double Rich, Myprotein's Chocolate Smooth tastes synthetic, passable but rather have Unflavoured.
None come close to BSN's chocolate flavours.

    • Chocolate brownie imo

  • Oh great, I just put an order in an hour ago :(

  • Ordered - thanks

  • +1

Has anyone tried their vegan protein blend?

    • +3

Wouldn't recommend unless you really enjoy the earthy/scrunched up bean flavour. Mixes terrible with water and milk - quite lumpy. Thinking of using it in baking instead.

      • Doesn’t the protein modify when heated? Read it somewhere but could be reading about creatin.

        • +1

          Don't think too much.

Looks like just the structural change rather than nutritional.

Here’s what they had to say “… whey may also be used in baked products to add additional nutritional benefits….In general, protein solubility is affected by heat and most foods are heat-processed, whether it involves baking bread, cooking caramel, or retorting soup for preservation purposes…. During baking, some of the proteins may become denatured but as this is a structural change, the nutritional content of the whey remains and thus provides essential amino acids which are part of a healthy diet.

        • +5

You know what else denatures protein? Stomach acid.

      • Does it taste sickly artificially sweet? I'm currently using musashi and find it sickly sweet that I only use half a scoop

        • +1

It doesn't taste artificially sweet. The sweetness doesn't really come out compared to the earthy/bean flavour.

It is chocolate flavour of which you can taste a bit but no where near as strong as earthy/bean flavour.

I guess if you like beans it might be OK? But otherwise it's not great.

    • +1

you have to use a lot more water than regular protein

    • +2

I haven't tried theirs specifically, but pea+rice blends go a lot smoother on my stomach than whey.

      • Yeah me too. I'm currently using musashi but find it sickly sweet I only end up using half a scoop at a time. Do you have any brand recommendations?

        • +1

bulk nutrients, earth protein has been tweaked and mixes + tastes unreal now, salted caramel ftw

          • +1

@bobgoblin: Thanks! I have their vanilla earth protein and I like how they only use natural sweeteners and isn't overly sweet. Although was a bit chalky. Is that still the case?

            • +1

@dajackal: no I don't find it that chalky anymore, grab a free sample of a couple!

              • @bobgoblin: thanks! you rate salted caramel yeh? any other flavors that are good?

    • +1

I used the pea protein isolate (not blend) and it's very decent with (oat) milk. Add a teaspoon of cocoa or milo or anything and it's even nice

  • For anyone interested, during the last sail I did my research and things like NAC l-taurine vitamin C were all cheaper than anywhere else I could find

Even there non-stimulant pump product called the pump was dirt cheap with the discount

  • Can we find out if they will honour cashbacks with this code?

  • This deal brings it pretty much in line with Bulk Nutrients pricing (for 5kg), but with a TON of flavour options. Has anyone tried some of the more out-there flavours in the WPC and have recommendations?

    • +1

Would recommend cookies and cream (the shaker deal is pretty decent).

Also depending on what you enjoy - the peach flavour is one of my friend's personal favourites too.

I have tried Matcha, Hojicha, Peach, Birthday Cake, Milk Tea, Hokkaido Milk Tea too.

      • +1

Excellent, thank you - I'll add some cookies and cream and peach intrigues me!

        • +1

Peach is really a hit or miss depending on how much you like the flavour!

What you can do is always try the sampler package - you get like 20 flavours and it's pretty cheap and decide for yourself what you want. MyProtein ALWAYS have sales and you can assume Black Friday they will have at least 45% off or something similar to this one. Son once you've tried them all you can decide what works for you :)

          • +1

@Yuddenator123: Good advice - I went for a 5kg order to get over the shipping threshold with 5 different non-traditional flavours, so a worthwhile gamble and can be backed up with future sales :)

    • +2

Personally bulk nutrients tastes nicer and mixes better.

      • I would argue that it mixes better but not taste better imo.

  • Can someone recommend some flavours to me? I’ve bought their chocolate smooth for a few years but don’t really like it anymore. I’ve had their cookies and cream and chocolate brownie before. They were really bad. I would cry every time I had to drink it

    • +1

Strawberry cream is nice, and dissolves much better than chocolate smooth.

    • +1

Try their cookies and cream. Or if you have read my previous comment above DM for more info on the other flavours I've tried.

  • I like the Impact Whey Isolate Chocolate Smooth a lot… One of the best, maybe the best, whey I've tried.

The sugar-free syrups, on the other hand, are not edible… Really disgusting, like vomit provoking level…

  • can someone recommend fat burners?

    • Oxyshred - the ones from MP are garbage in my experience.

      • but i cant resist a bargain -____-"

      Calorie deficit - free.

    • hydroxyelite

  • $20 for shipping is minimum?

  • Would anyone recommend getting the "Lean Essentials Bundle"?

  • +1

    shipping is too high

  • Shipping is not free at $100, it is $10. Free shipping only applies above $150

    • yes it is showing $10 for me too. I asked them via chat and the guy doesn't know about this code.

    • About 5pm this afternoon, I had just over $100 in my cart and it showed free shipping, but I didn't purchase as I needed to prepare dinner and now 9.30pm it is showing $10. Chat said the promo has finished and it was back to $150 spend

      • Same here. I actually bought most of my stuff from AminoZ last time, but it seemed a bit cheaper from here this time, but since I didn't need WPC or WPI this time, I was having hard time making it $100 for free shipping (I was falling like $15 short).I guess I just managed to avoid overspending but still a bit bummed out.

  • +1

    Sourced from China. Pass!

  • Yeah the guy that I chatted to said it was only over $150 to qualify for free shipping

  • +1

I got the pea isolate on last sale. Good value. Dissolves well, unflavoured is decent. Has the earthy pea taste not bad but not great.

I did notice no country or origin or “made in” labels but couldn’t get a confirmation from the online chat on where they what country the ingredients are from and where it is processed.

Got spirulina, pea protein, and extreme gainer.

Might bin the gainer as its almost half corn flour 🤣 not keen on taking 60g of corn flour daily. Should have paid more attention to ingredients.

  • what is the expiration date for whey? Want to order 10kg but might take a bit of time to drink all of them.

  • Where do you enter the promotion code? I can't see it at payment details

  • Free shipping no longer works at $100

  • Not really a supplement user myself. I am actually looking for post-run/cardio recovery supplements so I'll feel less fatigue for the rest of the day. I heard that I need a mix of carb & protein — but which exact product?

You would need to keep your body in a positive nitrogen balance to aid in recovery.
Something like HMB or just leucine and maybe some glutamine.
Citrulline is also a good choice as a pre supplement before your cardio as it will aid in nitric oxide formation and improve blood flow to your muscles.

Hit me up via pm if you need any recommendations

  • I've bought from them before and no issues with product or delivery. Everything is reasonable.
They do have a 50% off sale and free shipping over $150 at least once every month. Given they are quite inexpensive $150 works out to be a lot of protein so i normally split orders with a friend.

  • +2

Chat confirmed all whey sourced from grass fed cows in Northern erurope

  • Could you someone please confirm the source of their WPC, and micellar Casein? If it's China then definitely a strong No from me. I've been buying from them for years and may go back to bulk nutrients and support Aussie/NZ business.
