Yep, I just purchased two with Prime for $56.30 with expedited intl. delivery

      • yes purchased 2 ,,

  • +7

This is a great deal, but every food processor I've owned just collects dust.

What are people mainly using them for?

I chop everything by hand and it doesn't take me long, small family.

    Is this for catering?

    • +9

Required to make delicious delicious hummus… or got lots of basil growing this summer? Make some pesto!

      • Thanks, I think I can make those in my nutri bullet though. Love pesto and hummus.

        • +1

Nutribullet would turn everything into a mash, most dips need a bit of texture.i use my processor for energy balls, hummus, Baba ghanoush, pesto, falafel mixes etc. can't imagine pesto as a smooth paste .!

    • +1

Good guys sell the Breville $250 with free blender attachment sometimes for $200ish
Best buy ever, as you get a food processor that can crush anything, make decent puree and can still make smoothies with easy clean up

    • Second that. Tempting as it is, I can't find a use for it

    • Fish ball and beef ball.

    • Very quick at making coleslaw and garlic sauce and dough's and batters and removing fingers….

    • meatball

  • +4

Wouldn't it come with a UK plug?

    • Most likely, same voltage though

    • Yep, but I presume a competent sparky can swap over in five minutes for you, else grab an adaptor for $10.

      • You don't need a sparky to change a plug! Man up, it's only three wires to screw in!

    • +2

I have been using my instant pot from the uk with an adapter for a couple of years then I realised the cord comes out of the back of the machine is generic and I just swapped it with a similar one with an Aussie plug.

  • +2

    Is this AU plug?

    • -1

It wouldnt be. Its the shitty bulked up UK/Hong Kong plug

  • Thanks. Had some other items in my shopping list so took the chance and bought it.

  • How much do these sell for in Aust? Can't seem to find same model

    • +1

      c. $200 for similar brand / feature set.

Thanks OP - great price. Let's see if it's honoured…

        • Good find - appears to be the same, except for the extra 0.7l bowl in the Amazon deal.

Also, the Amazon deal mentions two sets of blades and slicing discs, which the Catch deal does not appear to include, but it could just be an error of omission.

If it is this one, then its pretty terrible, has a major design flaw. I almost bought this one until I saw this youtube review….and all the flour that went everywhere. So dodgy.

Have a look at about the 1:40 min mark.

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOmmqqDwq60

          • +1

            @PotPlant: Odd assessment - the same poster reviewed it here and gave it an overwhelming thumbs up;

            www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyIK-2Lpleo

Granted, the "major design flaw" amounted to it not being great at processing flour without any liquid. It was indeed pretty terrible at that. Fortunately, that's not something anyone I've ever met has ever needed to do with a food processor…

            • +1

@UncleRico: I think the idea is "not to process flour" but to make bread, or any type of dough, for that matter. In order for this to happen, you need to mix the dry ingredients together first, before adding the liquid. And its at that point that the machine and your kitchen bench will get covered with flour. Surely you can see that's a design flaw? If dry ingredients can work their way out of the machine like that, then I am sure that liquids would also do the same thing, especially at high velocities. The point is, the lid does not seal to the base of the machine properly. In the original youtube vid of her "processing flour" here are two of the comments….

"Thanks for your review! I'm so frustrated with the flour issue - dry ingredients in general. Last night I was making a crumb topping for 2 pies - so just 1 1/2 cups of flour, brown sugar etc … about 3/4 C ended up on the counter, floor, edges of the machine … what a mess! I loved my old Cuisinart - so disappointed in this one. Ready to chuck it."

              and

"I purchased this exact processor on sale for an excellent price. I am very disappointed in this model. It is very noisy, spits & spews up flour as seen on your video. It is comical when I watch it happen to you but not so humorous when it happened to me. I will try topping the processor bowl with saran wrap as 1 viewer suggested & see if that helps. lol"

That being said, I am not 100% convinced that the machine in this deal is exactly the same as the one in the youtube vid. I hope not!

              • +1

@PotPlant: Sounds like a sequencing flaw. I reckon if I put a kilo of flour in my frying pan and tried to toss it around without adding a binding agent, I'd likely have the same result!

Don't get me wrong - not having a 100% airtight lid is just stupid - albeit as she showed in her video, adding a couple of tablespoons of liquid to the dry mix resolved the issue. Whilst I don't plan to be mixing flour, I'm sure anyone making dough or blending dry ingredients would be satisfied with the results if they had the foresight to add the binding agent at the start.

Of course, now that I know of the potential issue, the first thing I intend to do is throw in half a kilo of flour and test the lid to see if this model has the same concern!

                But again, for $28 - I won't be screaming for a refund if 30ml of water provides a solution…

                • @UncleRico: There are many dough recipes that require the dry ingredients to be mixed first. Cake recipes too. Even when you do it by hand in a bowl, the dry ingredients are mixed first. Successful baking is often about the correct sequence and timing. Though flour in a frying pan seems like fun. 😊

Its a serious flaw, we aren't talking about a Kmart machine here either. And if it leaks dry ingredients, I'm even more sure liquids are going end up everywhere too!!! With the lid on, its not a sealed unit, which is just faulty engineering.

Having said that, totally agree its a bargain at $28 👍👍

    • $200 or £125

  • Great got two! This is a good brand. I have the steam oven.

    Great for gifting.

    • for the last few months, what I have seen is delivery from Amazon UK is very slow.. 4-8weeks at least for me,,

      • Conversely I've had 5 or so Amazon UK via AU orders recently delivered in about 2 weeks (to Melbourne.)

  • +1

Like everyone else, had to buy 2 to get free shipping. Will be putting this up in the classifieds if it gets honored :)

    • Don't have any friends or family?

Christmas is just around the corner. Give a little…

      • +5

No one in my family needs a food processor… was actually someone in my family who notified me of this deal.

Not looking at making a profit, thought I'd help the community for anyone who may have missed this deal as I only need 1…

        • You're a good man - sorry for prejudging.

Sounds like there's plenty of takers in the comments below. I'm sure you'll be able to move it on.

  • Bought 3. Absolutely no idea why.

    • +1

      Buy now, think later.

    • Ill take one second hand for $20

      • +1

Will give them as Christmas gifts sorry.

      • +5

Great attempt to lowball on a product that's already 90% off…

  • Thanks OP - got 1 fingers crossed - although it does seem to be a promotion -when you search for it on Amazon it says "limited time deal"

    • +2

      Only one finger?

A food processor may not be a wise purchase for you…

  • Bought 2. One for me, one for a family member.

Lets see of this goes through.

  • Unable to add to cart..

  • Hopefully it gets honoured! Anyone know why they’re so cheap?

    • All plastic except the blades

      • +1

But it still sells for a lot more in other places

      • +1

Most food processors are. Had a Braun one for 10 years till it gave out.👌👌

        • Not mine, it's made of solid gold. Except for the blades, made of plastic, really cheaped out there

  • Got 2 thanks op.

    • Can we be friends?

  • what is the normal price?

    • +1

      AUD 200 or £125

  • How much is a generic from local supermarkets?

  • Only 350 watts, guess I'm lucky to have missed out.

    • The good brands are actually lower watts generally, but high torque motors.

      • +1

I'm having trouble finding information to that effect, everything I find shows that for electric motors the torque is calculated from RPM and watts. There are also many higher end brands that have 800w+. Could you please direct me to some information that backs the wattage isn't directly related to the torque for electric motors. I'm happy to learn something new, but as is I don't think your statement is correct.

        • You are correct, torque ∝ power / RPM

So, the motor power alone doesn’t tell us how much torque is produced. You need to know the rotational speed too, which appliance manufacturers don’t normally give in their specifications.

        • I agree with you. I would ignore anything under 1000w.

Breville has a 2000w model at $550 and the reviews are amazing.
          https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/breville-kitchen-wizz-pro-200…

        • +3

Yeah absolutely, I don't think my statement is 100% correct either, it was a dumb comment. Sorry. I just don't think its right to go to the other extreme either, and say more wattage is always better. Would take this over a 3000 watt Kmart brand everyday.
You may have noticed that many of the cheap power tools, like Ozito etc, have much much higher wattages than the better brands, especially the older Hitachi's, De Walt's and Makita's that were made in Japan and Germany, and that I am lucky enough to still own. I guess what i mean is, don't rule this out just because its only 350 watts, the quality of the manufacturing is more important.
I have seen YouTube vids of some of the Cuisinart food processors and some of the processors in their more expensive range have quite low wattages, and yet they don't struggle, even when doing things like dough, which is probably the toughest test of a processor. Another example are the KitchenAid bench mixers, they are actually quite low wattages, much lower in fact, compared to their competitors, like Kenwood, Russel Hobbs, etc, but clearly the motor in the KitchenAid is extremely powerful and robust. Again, my apologies though, what I wrote was incorrect. :)

          • +1

@PotPlant: Yep. However, in the Cuisinart range you want to look for models with an AC induction motor. They are in some of the higher power models only (from 625 W up to 1300 W). These motors are super strong and have up to 20 year motor warranties to reflect that. The cheaper universal motors, as used in this 350 W model, are not as robust and are typically only covered by a 5 year or less warranty. They are also way louder than an induction motor.

The other brand known for using super strong and reliable AC induction motors is Magimix. Their motors have a 30 year warranty.

    • We're lucky you did too!

The quick and the dead around here…

      • If it's crap it's crap and not worth the wasted space.

        • +4

This is OzBargain - perish the thought.

You're going to have to chop and slice your sour grapes the old fashioned way…

          • +1

@UncleRico: It's not a bargain to purchase a substandard product or purchase things you don't need. That's ozmoneydownthedrain.

Like most people here I already own a food processor (but never really use it). I just saw the low price and didn't want FOMO, but on closer inspection it appears underpowered and needs a bulky power adapter (UK plug is massive).

            • +6

@studentl0an: Missing out doesn't make it substandard or crap.

I guess we should all be happy. You didn't get a food processor that's only 350 watts, whilst plenty of people who wanted one, did…

              • +2

@UncleRico: A lot of husbands want this. To satisfy the wife. And I'm one of them.

  • Ordered Two, Thanks OP for the heads up. Lets see how it goes

    • +1

My wife was at work, messaged her if she wants but no reply. Bought it and she's happy.😀

      • +1

if she doesnt want it now, just wrap it up n give it to her as xmas prezzie xD

    • Learn the lesson - never ask her permission again.

      Never…

  • I need this. We have a magimix or something that requires SO many parts to be hand washed after a single use.

If anyone bought two in Perth and only really wanted one then pm me.

  • OP how do you even find things like this?

    • +3

I didn't specifically go looking for a food processor, from memory I was looking at the Joseph Joseph UK deal of the day and it popped up on my screen as a similar/recommended item. Still hoping they don't cancel on us!

      • +3

        Can I just say Bravo.

You saw a deal like this, and thought of this community even with the slightest chance it will not get honoured. I salute you.

  • Thanks got two

  • Very good Deal!

  • Gah, I had it in my cart and got sidetracked. All gone now.

  • Do we think this was a pricing error or legit price?

    • +1

Pricing error If you missed out and it makes you feel better.
      I missed out too :(

    • Guessing legit price because it said limited time deal only and went out of stock quite quickly.

  • Comment unpublished. (Use Classifieds (Wanted))

  • anyone in WA (perth) bought one, i'd love to get one if you bought two please

  • +1

    Mine just got cancelled

    • Same here

    • Same

    • +3

      Same :(

      Wonder if any get processed

      • +1

Haha, i see what you did there ;)

        • Same just got email.

    • Same.

  • Same.

  • Yes, cancelled
Yesterday the hd and now this one

  • +1

There is still hope people - I just got an email saying that mine has been shipped!

    • How many pcs did you ordered

      • Just the one, but ordered something else to put it over $49. I'm glad because I only bought that other item to put it over the $49 limit, didnt particularly want to pay for it if I wasn't getting a food processor.
