Not sure if it's a very good price but looks promising. Any thoughts?

Thanks.
The strix g discount frequently but not the scar edition. Possibly all time lowest?
An overpriced gaming laptop that's finally at the price it should have been?
Ram may be in single channel or dual. Wouldn't hurt to ask Asus or seller as reviews say dual channel when 16gb and tech specs page says 8gb memory standard for this spec.

Ips level display so could be non ips. Decent colour gamut and response time.
Not sure of wattage of 2070 super but doesn't appear to be max q.
Liquid metal is also applied to CPU.
Looks like a great deal on paper, have heard Asus quality has gone downhill though as of late and coil whine/fan noise and dying hardware is common place (mind you that could happen with any manufacturer)
thanks mate. any laptop u recommend similar specs?
For this price there really isn't anything at the moment that beats or matches this on paper.
You either have options with slightly worse specs that cost more or less and have their pluses and minuses.
There is no unicorn laptop unfortunately. Pick your poison when it comes to issues and compromises you want to make.
Do you think we should wait till Black Friday for better deals?
@soorazsheerios: That's your choice, if you can wait I would.
If you can get an i7 1660ti 16gb 144hz laptop if and hopefully when it goes on sale for around 1600-1700 dollars you'd not miss out too much performance wise and use the extra money for games or for a desktop/console.
Personally spec wise I would have gone for this as I needed a laptop and couldn't wait, but I already bought a hp omen last week.
I would have hoped I wouldn't have run into issues as I've also heard support isn't that great from Asus but I've heard the same about Lenovo etc.
Things I would do once buying this though and any laptop - check for backlight bleed (a few reviews mention hit and miss panels) and run a stress test to check how bad the thermals are and if it's a bad application of paste or just needs tweaks out of the box.
Since March prices have been over inflated and Australia gets less variety of models, couple that with increased demand and limited supply and you get the idea.
Just do a search on rtx laptop and sort by post date.
They have been coming down over the last month for some models and spec, but if they continue to do so and there's better deals on the horizon that's anyone's guess.
I hope they do, but with limited models available in Oz, amd shortages, demand, supply constrains and no 3000 announcement for laptops I'm not hopeful they will come down to pre March levels for a little while yet.
@dazza826: champ ! <3

The Aftershock Vapor 15X (internationally the eluktronics MAX 15) would be a similar alternative. The Vapor 15X being slimmer/lighter
Thanks for sharing, there is another $31.43 surcharge if paying by credit card or paypal
Yeah, that's a bummer as bank deposit is not a safest way of payment.
But thanks for the post, I pulled the trigger on this. Hopefully I won't regret this lol
How did you pay?
@soorazsheerios: I paid via credit card so paid the extra fee as well. Also it appears deal is still active.
@Flashcurry: Price protection credit card by any chance? This dropped nearly $400, but sold out now so not sure if you could still claim.
Hey guys, what is the RAM config on this beast? Is it 2x 8GB or 1x 16GB with the second slot free? Thinking off pulling the trigger on this beast but wanting to know how to upgrade RAM to 32GB ;)
Thanks in advance.
Price in title? Edit: Thanks!
