  A cricket bat is one of those things you'd never buy online. You have to pick one up and feel it, as they are all different.

  Also, "Minimal scalloping for lightweight pick-up" is an oxymoron. Scalloping reduces weight, but can reduce the sweetspots and/or make the bat weaker.

  $301 off a "$1000 bat" is ok but Ton aren't exactly a leading brand, particularly here in Aus. I'd be taking my money to any local cricket store and be more confident in walking out with something I am sure is great quality and suited to my own preferences (weight, balance, profile, 'pick-up').

    I would consider it if I was replacing a bat that I liked with the same model - especially from the big brands that make a lot of bats, the same weight in the same model is going to be about the same. That said, I only spend around $300 on my bats so maybe there is a bit more consistency in that range.

    My issue mainly is that it's not a $1100 bat. All these importers of Indian domestic market bats just make up those prices to make it seem like a big discount.

    Granted some of those are older stock and one is sold out. But point is they basically just slap whatever 'RRP' on that they want to make the discounts look larger then they actually are. Highest 'RRP' is $1250 & lowest is $750. Not one company you will find selling this bat for $1000. Therefore it is not a $1000 bat.

    Just making up random 'market prices' is a misleading business practice in my opinion. Also SS Ton make good bats and this is likely to be a good product. Sturdy have posted here a few times and I haven't seen any complaints. So they are likely pretty good to deal with. So I just don't see the need to embellish and to lie to consumers about these things. They're selling a good product at a fair price so there's no need for it.

    Agree completely. Had a poor experience buying online once. $650 is a fair sum and best to visit your local trusted store to buy something which gels with you. Bit like Avatar - it needs to feel right when you pickup :)
