[PS5, Pre Order] Miles Morales $79, Sackboy $89 Delivered @ Amazon AU or + Delivery @ Big W

This post contains affiliate links. OzBargain might earn commissions when you click through and make purchases. Please see this page for more information.

Update 1: Amazon are now price-matching the Sackboy Price as well.
Update 2: Added PSN prices to the table. Thanks to @reptilescorpio for the great resource to access these games.

Some updates to the previous deal I posted. Big W driving competition again means that Amazon AU have now droppped the cost of Miles Morales to $79, which is its historic low. Note though, that this is NOT the Ultimate Edition. So if you want Spiderman remastered you'll need to for it. In America the cost is 20USD, though we're not sure what the cost here will be. So you might be better off getting the ultimate edition at $109.

Also, Big W have dropped the price on Sackboy to an all time low anywhere of $89! Good stuff, Big W!

If I had my time again I'd update the main link to the Big W listing, as I figure it's best to support those which are driving competition, opposed to Amazon who just do the bare minimum to get our orders :)

For the full list of PS5 upgrade games check out my previous deal.

Also, don't forget the pre-order price guarantee. If the price drops between order and release, you'll pay the lowest price. Also no deposit required for pre-order = pretty good. If you decide you don't want it from Amazon eventually, you can just cancel whenever.

Also, fun note. It seems the cost of the headset briefly dropped to $156.78, so those with that preordered will have a slightly cheaper amount now. Also, the DualSense 5 dropped to $105.72, so that will also be cheaper if you've pre-ordered.

Some important notes from @blah-blah regarding buying from OzGameShop.

Reminder - OzGameshop has different rating logo in their product image and most likely not the Australian version (unless they re-use the same disc). I think there is issues such as if DLCs released later then may not be compatible when downloading from Australian PSN. Also if later deciding to change from physical copy to digital copy then increases chance that will not be able to use previous saved game progress. Not sure on the current trade-in rules too, if need to be Australian version only.

Note on accessories: It seems the 3D Headset and charging station has been delayed in Australia until early December, this is almost a month after release.

Note on the table's inclusion: I've had negative comments about including the whole table in the past, but I've since had more positive community feedback asking for the whole table to stay. So I'll continue with that as new deal come up.

Note on contributors: I also wanted to note that though I've expanded the table significantly, the original design was made by @axeology - they definitely deserve huge credit for where it's up to today.

Note on other retailers: Though I haven't added them to the table, there are some other retailers that are likely worth checking out with PS5 game and accessories pre-orders up:

Note on the retailers in this table: Though I hope this is a comprehensive list of what's available, I don't have any bots keeping an eye on this stuff. So it's entirely possible I've missed a game or a price has updated. If you want to check it out yourself, the links are as follows:

+1 for the price table, details and links.

This is a fantastic resource, thanks for taking the time to put it all together.

  • What’s Amazon’s track record for delivering preordered games on release date?

    • +3

Pre-covid - good. Post-covid - bad. Most recent example, I received Pikmin 3 Deluxe Monday after it released last Friday. And that was one of the better examples. I think 1-3 day delay is normal around now. However, I also heard Pikmin 3 Deluxe didn't sell so well, so maybe that's why it shipped faster - less orders to fulfill. However, there's also been an ease on lockdowns in Victoria, so maybe that also helps. Plus, they delivered it using CouriersPlease instead of AusPost. They seem to be shipping faster.

So it's a mixed bag, but I wouldn't expect release day.

    • I had one preorder take +3 business days in September and another more recently take an entire +5 business days… so I’m pretty dissappointed.

    • I've gotten some games early and some late. Rarely does it actually arrive on release date.

    • I don't think they have a track record during COVID. I've received equal on or before, or up to a week late this year. They were always (100%) on or before prior to this year. They have started using CouriersPlease for a lot of deliveries now, and that's seemed to have helped. I'm back getting packages within 2 business days in Adelaide when shipped via them (and that's incredible considering CP's extremely poor reputation), whereas AusPost is taking up to a week and a half.

    • In my experience, extremely good. I'm always surprised to see the number of comments from people saying they never get theirs on time, makes me think I'm ordering from a completely different store. In saying that though I guess it's more likely for someone to bother to type out a comment when something does not go as expected rather than everything going smoothly so could just be that.

Also a bonus, if it doesn't come to you by release date, they give you a $10-20 credit which is more than worth it in my opinion just for playing a game a day or two later.

  • Another quality post. Bit miffed that I missed out on the mighty ape deal for demon souls. But I expect/hope that second hand copies will start rolling in soon after release. Same for Spiderman ultimate edition, but makes less sense that people would get through that game quickly (or just give up).

    • So, maybe I'm under the wrong impression here, but does Spiderman Remastered come on the disk for the Ultimate edition? I've just been assuming it would come with a download code for remastered, so it probably would only be worth the same as Miles Morales base on trade in or in the second hand market.

      • Yeah code in the box

        • Any idea what the cost of remastered is in Australia? I know it's 20USD, but struggled to find an Aussie price. It's unclear to me if I'm better off with base at $79 or Ultimate at $109.

          • @Lockdude: You cannot purchase the remastered version on it's own here or in the US.
The US$20 is an upgrade fee if you already own the non-remastered version.
The Ultimate is still the better value.

            • @swimmingtoad: You can only grab the remaster at launch by buying Mile Morales, the $20USD upgrade is in the Miles Morales menu by memory.

          • @Lockdude: I don't think Sony have officially let that slip here yet, if something official comes out I'll let you know.

Shame EB is almost always dearest. May be ok with this weeks trade event but still… games over $100 is a joke. Especially when they drop in price so rapidly these days. And don’t think this generation will be any different, just look at the volatility in price changes and the damn consoles aren’t even out yet. Stores don’t know what to charge. If consumers are dumb enough to instantly pay these prices, they will hold. Come on people, don’t be sheep.

    • EB Games also price match. you can trade in games, then ask to match Big W (who are proving to be the MVPs this time around).

      • Oh, didn’t know that. Good to know!

        • Generally they'll do it so long as it's in stock at a brick and mortar.

    • Its launch day on consoles selling for $750 without any accessories or games, that are sold out for months in advance, with predictions of the strongest launches in history.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the people aren't with you on this one ;) They will pay the new prices, the excitement levels are very high.

On the bright side, it doesn't really mean they will hold, consumer fatigue can come in various ways, actually we didn't have $69 or lower big releases titles of the early days of PS4/X1, I remember being pretty happy with $89. It's the $109-$129 that's a bit absurd and I'm not sure that'll hold. God I hope not anyway.

      • +2

Doubt it will hold. You think parents are going to happily drop $110 every time their kid wants the next Call of Duty? Different for us adult kids on OzBargain, but don’t forget the children and their parents being conned by them!

  • +1

If you have normal spiderman on ps4 will you be able to play the remastered version on ps5 (without the miles morales ultimate edition)?

    • +1

You will have to pay for the upgrade. The price for the upgrade is US$20. But I don't know the price in AUD.

    • +1

You can buy Miles Morales and then pay for the extra Remaster but you do need Miles Morales at the moment. I'd be shocked if they don't sell it separate in a few weeks/months time standalone.

      • +1

This is Insomniac, who never ended up making the pre-order exclusive R&C weapon available :p

  • +1

Might be worth adding another Column for PSN prices. I know it’s physical vs digital, but for some it may worth going the other way

For example, all editions of Godfall is cheaper on PSN than any of the physical versions

    • +1

Is there a list of Australian PSN prices available on PS5?

      • Not really sure, but I was just browsing it through the new PS app on my phone.

      • Just use PSPrices, new PSN webstore is garbage

Thanks, added it in! Great resource.

    • Added it in now :)

Great post - however you might want to revisit JB-HIFI, I can see a number of prices for games are differing, example, Miles Moralis is $89 for standard, $109 for ultimate.

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/playstation-5-marvels-spi…

    • Hmm thanks! I have a $79 copy pre-ordered @ Amazon but I don't have a lot of faith in that being delivered on day 1…might pre-order @ JB and pick it up on the way home from EB with the console…

    • Yikes! You were right! There were HEAPS that were outdated. I think I've gone ahead and caught them all. Thanks for the tip-off :)

  • I'm so used to buying games for half the price as I wait for a price drop, I'm going to struggle to buy anything for $80+.

    • Yeah, best to wait 6-12months before getting the PS5

      • Normally I do this. But I am not missing Miles Morales on Day 1

        • -1

I’m keen on revisiting a remastered version of the normal game with dlc let alone the miles morales dlc. And it is a DLC folks!!!

          • @[Deactivated]: How is Miles Morales DLC when you don't need the original game to play it? The definition of DLC is additional content for an already released video game. Miles Morales is a standalone game. That's like calling The Lost Legacy DLC for Uncharted 4.

            • @Madrical: They got you… oh well. I won’t spoil your fun.

              • @[Deactivated]: The classic "I'm right but I'm not explaining why I'm right, I just am" response. Good stuff.

                • @Madrical: That’s ok, you enjoy the game. It’s gonna be great, I too will pick it up. But that wasn’t my point. Developers have already confirmed it will be shorter that the first. Yet somehow it costs more? We can talk production costs until the cows come home but we are suckers, you need to realise that. Don’t bend over for Insomniac just because it’s hype!

                  • @[Deactivated]: This is selling for $79 while Godfall, Demon's Souls & other PS5 games are selling for between $109-125 so it is selling at a lower price than other PS5 games.

But anyway my original comment was just saying that this isn't DLC. Which it's not. It's clearly a half step using a lot of the same assets as Spider-Man (PS4) but it'll have a whole new story, new mechanics, etc. and you don't need to own Spider-Man to play it as you did for the actual DLC for that game (The City That Never Sleeps).

                    • @Madrical: So… it’s 5hrs long… do you still think it isn’t DLC?

        • I only completed the PS4 Spiderman a week ago, so I'm currently happy to wait for that one to drop.

      • I already pre-ordered. I couldn't stop myself!

  • Any updates on the cheapest local PS4/5 copy of Assassins Creed Valhalla?

    Thank you in advance.

    • $68 at Harvey Norman/Amazon

      • damn, hope the PS5 version drops further..

        • PS4 version will fall with Xbox version at least so maybe if there is a special price for Series launch it may get closer to $60 but I don't like our luck.

  • -3

    Too late

    Sold the ps5 already

Their pricing was ridiculous and Spider-Man whatever….

They have had such a long time to plan for this launch

Surely they can come up with a bigger title

    • +1

      Like Demon's Souls?…

    • +1

They did. GTA V Remastered Remastered

      • Milked it once and milked it twice with remastered

        Meh

        • Best version was on PS3 where it ran at 23fps

  • Are there any retailers with click and collect or will Big W have stock of games on release day? These prices are great but worried about delivery

  • +3

Be sure to support Big W guys.

    • +1

If they offered pick up, 100% I would. Quite a shame it's delivery only.

      • +1

Just go there during launch day whats the difference.

Anywho, Anyone stores selling the Spiderman MM PS4 version :) :)

  • Dude you deserve double the upvotes.

    Brilliant work.

  • Sweet, I had the PS4 version of Spidey pre-ordered, but might as well just get the PS5 version now.

    • Ah, I thought I already added this. My bad. Thanks :)

  • Miles Morales has been $79 plenty of times (i have a preorder back from September for $79)

    • That time in September was literally the only time it was that price. The PS4 copy has been that price though.

  • 10% off at Big W works on Spiderman Ultimate Edition on PS5, $102 shipped.

  • Still haven't received my copy of Miles on PS5 that I ordered in September. Lol. Amazon are so hit and miss with gaming pre-orders lately.
