Given everyone seems to be looking for hard disks after the apparent stock shortages, I thought this looked like a decent deal.
Seagate 1TB Expansion Pocket Hard Drive - $98
- Transport files from one computer to another
- Carry data wherever you need it
- No software to install
- Automatically recognized by
- Simply drag and drop to save files
- Dimensions: 141.29 (L) x 80.01 (W) x 17.60 (H) mm
I know the name is not the exact name of the model (ie. should be 'portable' rather than 'pocket') but the physical dimensions match those listed on the Seagate website: http://www.seagate.com/www/en-au/products/external/expansion…
A search of shopbot also lists the average price around $125, except for 1 retailer in NSW/ACT: http://www.shopbot.com.au/pp-seagate-portable-expansion-driv…
The Officeworks website lists it as in stock, so it does not appear to be one of those online clearance furphies.
Note: this is the 2.5" usb-powered portable drive, and not the 3.5" externally powered drive.
For some reason, this is coming up as $159 for me.
