I have this. It’s good but because it is shallow your spices tend to bounce out as you’re grinding them. I’d recommend a narrower, deeper one.

What is it made up of? Not sure if it is a stone marble or granite. Cheaper ones are cast using cement.
Not sure, I've seen references to ceramic - so not as industrial as granite, but for $15, adequate to do some basic crushing.

What's even more dodgy is that this morning they had stock available at $39.95 on Amazon, and has now switched it to Currently Unavailable.
What annoys me is that they aren't being upfront about it "stock error"? Just say yes we f'ed up, our apologies keep the novelty mini as our gift and here is your refund.

@missosoup: In the end they sent me two mini mortar and pestle and eventually they also sent me the correct one after a number of contacts through Amazon. To be honest the actual sized one is pretty average and the stone wears away pretty quickly which leaves dust in the bottom. definitely not something I'll use as an actual mortar and pestle in the long-term

This is not the item I ordered - my order was for the Baccarat Spice Market Delos Mortar & Pestle as it was listed - at no times was the listing the Mini unit which was sent and received, why didn't you contact me before sending me this completely incorrect item then block refund options then amend the reference to now show up as the mini item. My invoice states that the item is specifically the Baccarat Spice Market Delos Mortar & Pestle

I've also left a negative review and have contacted the seller. From what I'm reading Amazon requires me to have contacted the seller and have given them 3 business days to respond before I can request a refund from them directly via their A-to-z Guarantee.
Very strange non response from House, wouldn't have thought they'd stoop this low given they're a reasonably large retailer.
I also revived this message, I responded with declining the refund and asking for the correct item to be sent.
And they’ve just got back to me saying:

They acknowledged the stock error with me as well but I asked if they would send out the actual item rather than issue a refund. They accepted. Just got the notification from Auspost that it's on the way. Fingers crossed that it's the correct item this time!

I have received the right product and seller didn't ask for the mini version back.
In my recent return's experience with Amazon AU; I had selected return based on reason along the lines of wrong item sent and requested replacement order. The erplacement that I received was identical and incorrect product the second time around too. Then had to go down the path of returning first and second order with refund request.
This time around I went with the approach of contacting seller which worked (at-least this time).
I've finally got the right pestle and mortar
I've asked if they were willing to send out the bigger one too and that I was willing to return the mini one. We shall see what happens.
