Thanks. I was willing to pull the trigger on this one. I have a X1 Carbon Gen 2 which apparently has 270 nits. Too dim for me.
Lenovo has great designs, but I ended up despising them for putting exclusively crappy panels into most of their non-premium products
which is why I mostly end up buying Dell since it's far easier to get a decent LCD panel in mid-tier models. around $1000 not a problem to find one at all.
so pretty much put your shit together Lenovo
Upgrading the panel may be possible for about $120 I guess. It would require a bit of googling and ordering from Aliexpress.
sure, I upgraded a ton of laptop panels.
but I don't want to touch Lenovo because of reasons:
- they use white lists, meaning not every panel will work seamlessly
- they make it damn hard to disassemble the lid - some models even harder than anything else (like X270 and up)so while yes you can, potentially, but I will never bother doing this on a Lenovo again.
Can you drop in more RAM?
Yes, it has SO-DIMM slots. I think only one is populated with 8GB DDR4 in single channel.
Do you know if the supplied RAM in this one is soldered or removable?
Removable! As mentioned it has SO-DIMM slots.
Could I ask them to add extra 8gb RAM to the machine? coz I don't know how to
Thanks
Hi Guys,
And It seems the CPU Ryzen 5 PRO 4650U is better than Intel Core i5-10210U in the previous deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/575179), Am I right?
Thanks
From what I've read, yes the 4650U performs better
The AMD 4650U blows away the Intel i5-10210U. You are comparing the 6 core 12 thread AMD business grade CPU, that can encrypt RAM, to a 4 core 8 thread Intel consumer grade CPU. The 4650U, at 15W, is faster in a lot of circumstances than the higher wattage, 45W, Intel i7 and i9 CPUs like the 10750H.

Any reason why these would support a 1GB or larger M.2 SSD? In only ask because Lenovo only seems to option them up to 512GB and I was recently looking at a NUC-type system that limited drives to 512GB (and I didn't understand why).
No issue with putting a larger NVME SSD in this laptop.
Thanks, last time I bought a machine SSDs weren't really a thing, so I'm still getting my head around all the new tech.

Recieved my lenovo L15 today (only took a week), it is working really well!
Hello Harvey.. I orded the same one as well. Do you mind doing a bit of review..? You can DM if you want.
How's the cooling on this laptop especially when CPU under full load?
How do you find the screen brightness.
250nit screen. just a reminder - may be a bit too dim
for reference I have a Lenovo T495 from work with what is rated as 300nit screen, but it doesn't quite reach 300 and tops out at 280nit
it is a bit dim for my liking, everything else I have is 300nit minimum
250nit is going to be a bit darker than this
