  • Didnt need one, but heck grabbed one anyway. Whyy Ozb whyyy

Are people upvoting because everyone else upvoted?

    • No. I'm up voting your up vote.

  • Bought one, cheers OP!

  • this is a dropshipping store lol

  • Got one, been on the look out for something like this.. $68.22 shipped on 28degrees..though that'll change i'm guessing once it actually processes as per usual 28 degree card charges.

  • Any faster places to buy one of these or the 2020 model for a minor price bump? I need to clean up and sell 2 NAS boxes soon

    • Hit me when you are ready to sell. I have 2011 Nas model

    • Also potentially interested depending on spec/location

  • how do these compare with the bigger corded dusters like xpower, metro datavac or compucleaner?

    • +3

from what i gather from reviews,
corded ones are more powerful, more expensive and run hotter.
this is less powerful, more quieter and more portable.
All good alternatives to the cans.

You first. By complaining that iphones are made in China.

But hey. Aren't Apple being the nature lover that they are doing the no charger or earphones in the box of iPhone 12 to save the environment?

    • Curious to hear what your complaints are.

I received my upgraded/newer version one. Got it last week from the store and it's not that impressive. Vacuum will pick anything directly under it but isn't going to pull much from what it's not touching.
Blower is a bit better although it's still nowhere near as good as compressed air? I'd say it has about 70% of the static pressure.

If you have a dusty PC with big or loose chunks of dust it'll clean it out perfect but if you're the OCD type and say cleaning every month it won't get rid of the tight fine layer that's often caked onto heatsinks etc. Good tool in the arsenal to have but don't throw out your compressed air yet.

    • oh nos, did 386+ of us get sucked in lol

      • Maybe 386+ of us will be blown away by its performance!

        • 386's would be very dusty I imagine.. hell even my relatively new AMD Ryzen CPU cooler seems to be a dust magnet.

      • Almost 486 now

    • +1

You are saying (for the 2020 model which is rated at 60K RPM):

Blower is a bit better although it's still nowhere near as good as compressed air? I'd say it has about 70% of the static pressure.

Notoriousbird is saying (for the 2019 model which is rated at 33K RPM):

Beats compressed air as it is continuously blowing at a high speed.

Argh! Who do we believe? 🤔

      • +2

The RPM isn't actually reflective of the windspeed i don't think (eg windspeed doesn't double as per RPM) . Something dodgy going on though

The non upgraded one says 33k rpm at 28m/s wind speed.
●Deep Cleaning & Extensive Utilization: This OPOLAR duster tops the market by its capacity to produce a powerful thrust of air at almost 10 level strong gale (28m/s) for deep cleaning of the microscopic dust. Starting from printed circuit boards to computers, electronic instruments, medical devices, and many more such areas can be cleaned by this mini duster which your traditional wiper or duster cannot clean.=
        https://www.amazon.com.au/OPOLAR-Compressed-Rechargeable-Eff…

The upgraded one says 60k rpm at 30m/s wind speed.
🏆 OPOLAR ADVANCED MOTOR: Unlike the traditional model, this OPOLAR duster is equipped with the newest hurricane motor with speed, ranging from 33,000 rpm to 60,000 rpm. It can produce stronger thrust of air, 30m/s, deeply cleaning even microscopic dust particles. Additionally, its suction power has reached 8KPa at max.
        https://www.amazon.com/OPOLAR-Cordless-Electric-Compressed-A…

However on their site it claims 35m/s wind speed (higher than the 30m/s on their official amazon page)…this was also changed from 33m/s when i originally bought it.
        https://www.opolar.com/products/2020-new-opolar-upgraded-cor…

So i think something dodgy is going because they keep changing the windspeed on the new one from 30-33-35.

Anyway with all that aside from all that yeah it just lacks the bursty pressure that compressed air has which you really need to get that stubborn caked on layer of dust that looks like it has moisture on it. Loose dust lying around however it has no issues with.

    • 70% of the duster cans is still pretty good.
Duster cans only provide that max burst of power for the first 4-5 seconds before becoming extremely cold and ineffective.

If this blows at 70% all day long, that's actually pretty decent.

    • Received mine it's ok but not very impressed with it

  • +1

Got mine delivered today and I ordered from their site on the day of prime sales. It came in an Amazon box which was surprising. This thing has a small delay to spin up but is quite powerful for a cordless small air duster.

Beats compressed air as it is continuously blowing at a high speed. Combine this with alcohol wipes to remove any fine dust particles and you will have very clean PC components.

  • +1

The 2020 blower vaccum model is cheaper on Aliexpress.

  • Ordered mine on the 21st and it arrived today (26th - in Amazon packaging like the others). I'm quite impressed with the output, which is certainly less then the initial puffs from the canned air, but this runs consistently at the same speed and it can be turned upside down.

  • Cant say anything about the blower (mine hasnt arrived yet), but if Opolar customer service is anything to go by I would avoid them.

Purchased direct from Opolar US on 13th, and have been emailing them through multiple channels since 17th asking to cancel the order. Today I received email saying the item has been shipped. If you really want the product best to buy from Amazon so you have an actual channel for complaints.

    • That's odd. As mentioned above, I ordered a blue one direct from Opolar on the 21st and received shipping notofication the 22nd.

  • +1

Mine just shipped from China, so guess it will be here in 2021.

    • Did you order from AliExpress or directly from OPOLAR?

      • Directy from OPOLAR (the link in the deal).

        • Yep same. CN shipping. Damn it.

          • +1

@Gmetal: They use an express service though. The previous orders from Amazon (fulfilled by OPOLAR) arrived in under 2 weeks from purchase.

            • @ash2000: Thanks, thats good to know!

            • @ash2000: You're right, just arrived today!

Not bad, something else I ordered 'express' from China shipped 5 weeks ago, just arrived in the country but wont make it to me until next week.

  • Never received a order confirmation from this, and still haven't? yet it took my money etc, any advice?

    • Checked your junk mail?

      • I did yeah, no dice.

    • log on to the opolar.com website, log in, check your order, there should be a tracking link if its been shipped.
      5-12 business days apparently.

      • Didn't create an account when i ordered, just as a guest.. just created one now, and it's not linked ;x

      • 5-12 days until it leaves the warehouse or 5-12 days until delivered?

        • Mine left a day after order so I don’t know or think it matters

          • @bowtiehoon: Mine’s in the country now, prob waiting for Aus post now …

  • +4

Gave my PC a good blow out with this today and it did a great job. I still had to wipe a few areas with a cloth, but overall, it did a great job at getting all the loose dust out. Much better than I expected based on the comments here.

For desktop computer I just took it outdoor and use a small Ozito blower.

With a max rated airspeed of 78km/h, I am surprised you didn't blow away your whole computer chassis in the process.

      • Ha Ha … not really that powerful.

I use to have one even more powerful for many years with many computers. It is so good like new after the clean.

Of course be careful with laptop and laptop keyboard, also remember to wear face mask XD.

    • mate curious to try this, this wouldnt damage any components would it? Really like how it can blow up mattresses.

      • It won't I have been doing that for xx years with a even more powerful blower, that one is better every single dust got blow out.😁

    • I was home when mine was delivered at 7:30am, but it was just left by the door. I only found it when I went out.

  • Sent from China, about 8 days from purchase to delivered. Pretty good.

      Received mine this morning.

  • Ordered on 24/10 and received mine yesterday. Not nearly on the same level as my datavac but a lot more convenient to use since it is cordless and a lot lighter.

  • Just got mine. This thing is a beast!

I'm actually excited to take apart my n40l and give it a good clean!

Can't believe I've been using canned air for so long!

  • Thanks OP! Got the more powerful version shipped from China in 9 days

  • Got mine. More powerful than expected but looks cheaply made, wonder how long it'll last. Can't really complain at the price though. Already cleaned my keyboard and it did a great job.

  • I ordered a 2020 on the 25th, still not even a tracking number.

    • I ordered 11 days ago, recieved my tracking number 9 days ago.

    • Just got tracking.
They sent it on Monday, it's somewhere in Australia right now.

  • +2

Ordered mine last Sunday, got it today. Dunno what delivery company they use but someone in an unmarked old beat up commodore delivered it lol.

As for the item, it’s as expected so I’m happy with it

  • just arrived, NSW post code 217X
weird when on, i can feel a wind leaks underneath the tube/hose/nozzle/nose area? somewhere near the power on/off button switch
also, a bit concern about that on/off button, looks fragile.

    anyone feel the same?

    • +1

Same with mine but I can also feel it coming through the charge port.

    • Yep, a small amount leaks around the on/off switch, but more leaks from the charge port, so I just put some duct tape over it.

      • should we try to complain?

        • I won't.. It works as I hoped it would and a bit of tape over the charging port doesn't really bother me.

  • I don't know if my expectations were too high for this product, or if a have a faulty unit?

The air that's coming out barely indents the skin on my hand, and overall less air pressure than a hair dryer. Essential about the strength as a focused breath of air from my mouth!

    • Although i've got the 2020 version, the lower setting "should" be equivalent to the OP's listed deal (i.e 33000 RPM) & still indents my skin.
IMO this with the brush nozzle will more than be adequate in cleaning my keyboard/computer components or dust filters in general, which was my intended use.

    • See my posts a bit further down the thread.

I was looking to buy this a while ago but although it has good reviews on amazon there were quite a few people saying it was pretty underpowered compared to canned air.

As teeskiies says below, the newer one is definitely much better than this.

      • I had modest expectations compared to canned air (which is 140 psi) from a tiny nozzle, but I didn't expect it to be less effective than a hair dryer or breath of air. I'm guessing I've got a dodgy unit.

  • +1

I suspect it's faulty as mine is about 75% as powerful as the canned air I used to use, but at a longer sustained rate.

    • Thanks….. I'd say mine is about 5% to 10% the power of canned air. Needless to say it barely moves any dust.

  • +2

"You can start blowing dust on items." Woohoo!

    https://imgur.com/a/GWSJ4LR

  • 4PX tracking for my order says "Delivered", but I haven't received anything…anyone else in the same boat?

    • All good, found it hidden in the pigeon hole haha

  • I ordered the upgraded version and it arrived today. It's much more powerful than I expected, probably stronger than a can of air, which I will no longer need to buy!

Only slight disappointment is its micro USB and not USB C. Now need a nice compact case/storage unit.

  • I received mine a couple of days ago. Unfortunately I don’t find it as strong as the canned air I have. Most likely it’s because the nozzle is a lot wider than the canned air nozzle. I use it to blow out pocket knife pivots, blow off the workbenches and other things.
If I had brought it from Amazon I’d probably return it but not worth it for an international product. Regardless I’ll still use it and it’ll come in handy.

    • Did you get the original or the upgraded version?

      • The original.

        • Ah, I'd read reviews that said that one was a bit underpowered. The new model is great, better than I expected.

          • @gadgetguy: How much does the new one cost?

            • @jallen89: Look at the sticker on the back. What is the output power? The original one was 20W, but the current one is 40W. It also has a bigger battery.

            • @jallen89: $85 USD if you use the code from this thread.

              https://www.opolar.com/collections/best-selliing/products/20…

60,000 RPM vs 33,000 on the old one.

              • @gadgetguy: Wish I brought that one in the first place. Oh well. Thanks for the link.

              • +1

@gadgetguy: This Korean video (below) compares the air pressure between the two OPOLAR models against a can of compressed air and a compressed air tank. It's achieved simply by aiming the air at a digital scale and measuring the force (weight) exherted.

                Results:
                OPOLAR original - 28g
                OPOLAR 60,000rpm - 42g
Compressed can of air - 80g (short burst)
Tank of compressed air - 120g

                • +1

@ash2000: Last week I used a can to clean my Synology NAS. It only worked in short bursts and got too cold to hold.

When I tested the 60k Opolar not long after, it (subjectively) felt about the same strength. Its certainly powerful enough to do the same cleaning job.

                  • @gadgetguy: Certainly sounds alot better than the cheaper model!

At least I've discovered my unit is not faulty, it too exhursts 28g of pressure. Relief and disappointment!

                    • @ash2000: I just watched the video you linked. One thing to note, the can exerts its pressure over a much smaller area (because it has a tiny tube). I suspect if you fitted a comparable tube to the Opolar it might be similar to the canned air.

Maybe that's why mine felt subjectively comparable to the can.

                      • @gadgetguy: Yes, I thought the same, but I've subsequently done some tests at reducing the nozzle size and found that in fact the amount of pressure is reduced by reducing the nozzle diameter.

I think this is largely due to the fact that the small fan blades cannot compress the air enough to increase output pressure.

In fact, a better measure of the cleaning ability of these different options would be to test it's pressure over a much smaller area, say 1 square millimetre. In such a test the canned air would be exponentially more forceful than this device. Likely, 50x more force over a small area.

  • I made an order on Oct 24, but I accidentally entered an incorrect email address. I have sent a number of emails to their contact email for tracking number and delivery info, but I have not received any reply. Has anyone had similar issue? do they actually reply to customer enquiry at all? I am worried about my order now.

    • They never replied to any of my enquiries.
