And once retail dies, Amazon won't be so "generous".
Isn't it also that retailers have been slow to properly pivot to online sales? The number of cancelled orders and delayed deliveries (Amazon can get you a Lego set to your door in 2 days) doesn't do the retailers any good.
The fulfilment model for many of the retailers is based off your local store, so they often don't have stock - and this was particularly bad in Melbourne during the 5km lockdown.
It's not so much Amazon stealing their business, as it is them dropping the ball… or simply spending far too long trying to pick it up.
Yes, I agree. But my statement and yours are not mutually exclusive.
Amazon has advance picker systems and is ruthless on workers, while coles/woolies group have to deal with Australian warehouse culture. Just think 20 years ago 99% of forklift drivers were males here in aus.
I'm sure everyone is loving Amazon's prompt delivery of the wrong item.
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/574355@Max Power: I mean that was people deliberately ordering a pricing error lol.
Some dude on twitter actually got 2 mindstorms.
Yeah I don't want a heartless multinational to stomp on retail but jeez.. they make it hard to care.
The amount of cancelled orders from Myer / David Jones is absolutely ridiculous, and Amazon is the only reason they have sane free shipping options.
My bad
Thanks, now I can build this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2STQtECa9Uc
Credit goes to Big W. As usual amazon is a wet pricematching fish.
