Add around $35 for a Ritmo SATA/IDE ext' enclosure = $120.
I picked up the deal on the Samsung 750GB SATA II HDD a few weeks ago & got a cheapie MSY Ritmo enclosue for it. No forced cooling though - it relies on the aluminium case acting as a passive heat sink.
Cheers,

Ritmo have a poor reputation in terms of quality. How happy are you with yours? Bought a couple of things like powered USB hub that only had 500ma power supply which made the whole thing pointless. Few posts on Whirlpool about all sorts of other Ritmo gear not working as advertised.
Astone seem to have a better reputation so wouldn't mind trying one of their cases. Best $ per GB has moved to 640GB or 750GB though, agree with that.
Yes, I'd agree that the Ritmo has the feel of being "cheap"!
My HDD case works fine though. It has the advantage of having both SATA & IDE interface, so I can use it with lots of drives. I only use it "as required", considering it doesn't have forced cooling for the HDD.
Yeah, 640/750GB seems to be the "sweet spot" on the $/GB curve for SATA, and 500/640GB for IDE (3.5") HDDs.
Cheers

Or if you prefer shopping from the comfort of your own home, $89 @ Netplus WA and the usual free shipping for OCAU members. :)
MSY have the worst customer service you can get, maybe price a bit better but you are getting sh*t service plus maybe repaired stock…
never tried ITBOX but i see they are on ebay with good rating so maybe will give it a try.
the biggest bang for you buck at the moment is 750gb hdd storage :)
Cheers
