Once I displayed Tony Abbott's face on that Samsung Fridge at The Good Guys.

    • He is pretty epic.

    • I suppose he turned the fridge into a British door?

      • That was before his upcoming gig.

In all honesty, is the screen on the fridge a necessity?

    • Seems such a gimmick

    • From memory the whole screen on the fridge thing came before smart phones were a thing. Displaying the weather was the main perk, seems pointless now.

Unless of course you want to play Doom - https://www.reviewgeek.com/56867/doom-can-run-on-a-smart-fri…

    • It saves counter top space unless you have a huge kitchen and heaps of counter top for a google hub max

    • It's one of those things that you really want, but after owning it's just meh. The only thing I find it's useful for is showing the font doorbell's live feed when it's pressed, Spotify and Making calls. Bixby is also really bad so you'll still need a google home device.

    • We don't have smart phone until now if we thought like that 12yrs ago.

Save yourself some pain and google reviews on Samsung refrigerators first, wish I did that…
I had 2 x Samsung Refrigerators like this, both the top of the range French Door with ice machine.

The first I paid for; the second was an under warranty replacement of the first, from memory it was around $4k 8 + years ago.
That should tell you something to begin with.

The replacement was around same quality as the original.

I was told they stopped making them after that one.
I'm surprised they are having another go at it.

On the replacement; all door racks broke, no they weren't overloaded or roughly handled.
I even lined the bottoms with stiff board to strengthen them only they still fractured due to slight flexing when loaded/unloaded.

Also, the Ice machine chute flap didn't quite close so flies could get into the freezer where they froze (nice).
Oh, and Freezer fan stopped spinning every 4 weeks due to Icing around the fan.

    PLUS
Drains Leaked into the insulating foam so that became waterlogged and froze (and also no longer insulated)
Refrigerator Drain was also Blocked so water from the coil couldn't run away so coil became blocked solid with ice in Refrigerator dept.
That meant I had to defrost it every 2 months by turning off with door open for 48 Hours.

Not making this up, I have video footage I was going to put on youtube.

Don't buy a Samsung Refrigerator telling anyone interested!!!

    • My top of the range is on its 6th year now and zero issues with it. Its the one that makes sparkling water.

    • Wonder if that's just the higher end ones. I paid around $900 for one in 2011 and it's still going fine.

    • Yeah I've heard they've all got massive issues with the ice maker, constantly freezing up.

    • Mine wasn't a french door nor top of range. It still is running fine for 5+ years. Guess you have double lemon. should buy lotto may be?

  • Looking to buy refrigerator around 400 to 600 L for around 800 to 1600 price bracket. Any deals or help will be much appreciated. Thanks

  • Confirmed. Can play DOOM

    • First it was on Windows, now doors. Next walls?

Heard condom are in a beta phase rn we all like to shoot

  • So it's gone from a ridiculously ridiculous ripoff, to just a ripoff?

  • What the hell is in those bottles in the freezer?

Have had one for over a year. Everyone in the family loves it. No issues with ice maker. See my detailed review here https://www.productreview.com.au/reviews/99bac79b-1457-4d77-…

  • Has anyone managed to download their solar inverter's monitoring app on their fridge? So you can monitor your solar panel's output from this fridge?

  • In the market for a new fridge but certainly sounds like Mitsubishi is the way to go. Hoping for a deal on the multi drawer MR-WX743C. Best I can find at the moment $4,041 which is still a lot cheaper than this Samsung model. Granted, no smart screen but seems a gimmick anyway.

Hey mate, I have been hunting for good price and I know a mate at Harvey Norman who can cut me deal for the Mitsi 743l for $3350.
Let me know if you are interested. PM me if you like.

I am stuck deciding between LG INSTAVIEW 910l/ Samsung hub 825l or the Mitsi 743L.

      • My uncle bought the LG at the same time I bought the Samsung hub claiming it was just a gimmick. To this date he hopes he had gone for the Samsung Hub. Agree it’s just a gimmick…. but great to have in the kitchen when you walk in. I just love it!

      • Awesome! Sent you a PM

      • Hey mate, I'm interested in the Mitshi as well, made in Japan one?
