As I was searching for the price of Ableton Live, the first page of results showed it's available for free, as posted on Engadget: https://www.engadget.com/ableton-live-10-lite-free-splice-18…
Ableton Live Lite is a music creation software. It generally only comes with music devices. Via Splice, it is free until December 31, 2020 to everyone with a Splice account. Accounts on splice.com are free, so just sign up and then download Ableton Live Lite here:
https://splice.com/daws/38929163-live-10-lite-vst-by-ableton and you get the digital license key.
Splice is a good site, in my opinion. It offers free and paid plugins and music files, as well as ways for you to share your tracks with others (for free or you can charge). They are always looking for you to buy something, so opt out of mailing list if you're not interested, but they also offer free services like backing up your audio tracks and competitions (for example there was a Moby remix competition a while ago, with all the separate stems, or song parts, provided from two songs for remixing).
Steps to redeem:
Sign up for a free account with Splice.com
Use the link above or search for Ableton Lite on splice.com (it's in the DAW section)
Click to get the product
Copy the license key from the next page
Use the download link to install it
Put in the license key
Enjoy
Not sure what I signed up for but would come handy one day.
