Just noticed this projector is on sales and is a part of Prime Day

I own this projector. Bought it at the start of lockdowns to watch movies at home. Surprisingly good value and was exactly what I was looking for: cheap, passable quality, amazon customer support. Not sure about the 4200 lumens part lol and also not recommend it for work/presentation.

    • Wow that seems pretty great for the price. Good possible alternative to an old second-hand brand name unit.

I think I'll start recommending this one to the "I want a projector but my budget is $300" crowd instead of just telling them they are dreaming.

  • Is this worth as a bedroom tv to point at the ceiling w\ Netflix?

    • I don't know about netflix but I can tell you that watching the screen on the ceiling isn't as comfy as you think it would be.

      • We do it, it's awesome!

Only issue is the keystone is off, because the projector is on a tripod by the side of the bed…

    • A bit noisy for that, it'll be fairly close to your head. And the image quality will be disappointing. For such a low price you might just want to try it out, though, I guess. But changes are it'll end up gathering dust.

  • +3

If you believe this will be anything but a disappointing piece of crap, I've got a bridge I can sell you.

  • +1

I got this for $109 some time back :( watching TV (usb tuner with PC) at 121" projection from some distance and quite ok at night without lights. Using the DSLR's tripod to mount around at 5' and projecting to the white wall of the living room.

    • Aww still better than me, I bought it when it was $129 haha

  • +5

I don't trust the reviews. not saying it's not worth it for the price, but I hate padded reviews

    • Thanks! What a handy tool reviewmeta is. I'll be using it from now on.

Sorry for asking any idea how prime returns work? I like to buy one but would like to return if it doesn't fit my expectations without too much hassel.

    • +2

Amazon is generally very good with returns in the return window (I think about 30-45 days). They will ask you reason of return and provide you with a return ticket that you print and stick on the box and drop at post (if you don't have a printer you can print at post by quoting them the number).
I honestly don't know what they do with returns, but I would urge you to read the reviews and make sure you will be happy with a cheapie projector… Otherwise it is very likely you are contributing to the landfill and e-waste

      • +1

Thanks, doesn't that get returned to the seller? I've been waiting to try out a cheap projector for some time now. Look like I'm going to buy it to satisfy my inner child lol.

        • It will be returned to the seller (Best Seller AU). But Amazon will pay for the cost. All you need to do is requesting a return (from your Amazon account), sticking the shipping label on the box then dropping it off at a local Post office.

When I bought this cheapie projector, I had the mindset that I would most likely return it. But I ended up loving it haha. I mean, it is what it is for the price

          • @Scythic: Thanks, I guess it's good or bad for someone depending on expectations. Hope this is good enough for me :)

      • Well put :)

  • Locked down makes me want a big "scream"!

    Give it a go.

  • I am looking for a budget projector for my little kid and willing to accept compromises given the budget.

However I want to buy the best out the many "low quality" budget projectors.

If you were to buy a budget projector which one would you buy out of the many choices?

Contested discussion saying that VIVIMage C680 is native 1080p around the $100 price point
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/504152

I am willing to pay more if its genuinely better than the $84 projector.

    • I own projector at your first link; and given my review, I don't recommend it out of the box for anything except karaoke. It's crap, son. I'll write what I seriously think about this QKK if I don't cancel - for the mentioned BlitzWolf were its footprint not twice as large.

  • Anybody placed an order got charged? Mine isn't charged yet, all other orders I did after this has already been charged.

    • +2

I think Amazon only charge after shipped.

      • I see, thanks. Good to know. Kinda new to Amazon here haha.

      • I still see my order as 'not shipped'. Wonder when they gonna ship.

        • Same but it said "Arriving today by 8 PM"

          • @superforever: I see, mine doesn’t say anything different compared to the day i purchased it. Please keep posted if you get it today. Hopefully you get to play around with it soon :D

            • @glashalful: What you got from Amazon order tracking page?

Only said Ordered Wednesday, 14 October but not shipped yet. The line almost there shipped.

              • @superforever: Yeah mine the same says ordered 14th October, the arriving date is 16-29 October. Maybe that's because I'm in Victoria.(was hoping to get it by weekend to watch se stuff on it maybe I'm dreaming. Always thought prime shipping is so much faster, may be their priority shipping not the regular shipping)

                • @glashalful: I don't think it will arrive today still not shipped even it said arriving today by 8PM.

The dashcam I ordered during lighting deal arrived next day.

Last time fastway delayed my SSD delivery, kept saying onboard for delivery for 3 days. Amazon refunded me and gave me $10 credit and the drive arrived afterward.

                  • @superforever: Yup seems like it, look like their arrive by time only shows the initial estimate regardless it's being shipped or not.

That's interesting I didn't know Amazon uses fast way. Got to love their reliability :p

Good that you got some reward for it. Every time I order some thing from eBay or somewhere if I see the fastway, my blood start to boil it's that bad. Now they have even changed their name to something else. 😂

                    • @glashalful: Shipped and said "Arriving today by 8 PM" again but Satursday

                      • @superforever: That's promising, they probably have shipped earlier unless they use some kinda ultra express shipping method haha.. Mine is still not shipped. Hopefully I get an update soon.

                        • +1

                          @glashalful: Delivered on Saturday 😁

I ordered before the deal posted so may be I am the first one received.

                          • @superforever: Awesome !!!, yeah probably that could be the reason. Glad that you got to play with it over the weekend. Could you please share your experience with it when you can ? Excited to know. :D

                            • +1

@glashalful: Just tested, not bad for $80, quite clear and bright and the sound a lot better than I expected, even have surround.

It would be better if you can put it more horizontally to get a better edge display.

Tested with chromecast to youtube, Netflix both fine but for some reason Google Play Movie can't get sound from Chromecast.

Overall it is OK for $80 projector that can do native 720p, even I move it further back to display bigger screen still fine and clear for me. The only issue is the edge not as clear as the center but for movie it is fine unless you have subtitle near the edge.

As the description said not good for PowerPoint, Text, etc.

                              • @superforever: Thank you. Now I have more faith in this projector. Watching movies is exactly what I was expecting to do. As long as most of the centre area is clear I guess the blur edges can be justified for the price (especially for entertainmegnt content we rarely pay attention to edges.)

                                • @glashalful: I have tried move it back a bit to get a larger picture like 100", seem fine to me for movie. As always projector needs darker environment to get clearer picture.

I am looking for a way to just cast the screen to the projector and keep the sound from my HTPC surround.

                                  • @superforever: If you are running windows, you can change default play back device by clicking on the speaker icon right side of the task bar. https://ibb.co/vBWhnbT

                                    • @glashalful: To prepare running long HDMI cable, with Chromecast I think the only way is to use Chrome browser to cast the whole desktop, even just cast the youtube video sound will redirect to the chromecast and no sound from Windows.

Another issue don't know how to play mp4 on USB in full screen, only open up a small windows playing the video

                                      • @superforever: yikes, look like they removed the option that enabled casting video only on chrome https://support.google.com/chromecast/thread/970259?hl=en :(

                                      • @superforever: Finally got it and got to play a bit with it. I was able to cast the whole desktop, and direct sound to my sound bar through Bluetooth. Only quark was I couldn't stop playing the audio through projector's built in speaker which is kinda tinny. But turning the volume of the projector to mute took care of that.

"Another issue don't know how to play mp4 on USB in full screen, only open up a small windows playing the video" : it showed me like that when I press ok on a usb video. I think its some kind of a preview. When I press the play/pause button video came to full screen.

                                        • @glashalful:

                                          Have to use laptop, right?

when I press ok on a usb video. I think its some kind of a preview. When I press the play/pause button video came to full screen.

Didn't try that, good to know.

                                          • @superforever: "Have to use laptop, right?" actually its on my desktop, with a cheap Bluetooth adapter from ebay. But audio kept playing on both sound bar and projector, so I muted projector speaker.

"Didn't try that, good to know." yeah could be handy when we don't have access to any other device, however not a big fan of that UI.

                                            • @glashalful: My HTPC desktop next to TV a bit far away from projector

                                              • @superforever: If you could try with a laptop with bluetooth to transfer audio to speakers you have, pretty sure adding a bluetooth adapter adapter to your HTPC should work as long as they are in the same room. I had mine laying around for ages which I got for couple of bucks from ebay.

Mini review for a mini projector. Spent enough time with QKK AK-80 to judge
OKK' a keeper! Not a cheap & nasty picture compared to TaoTronics TT-PR001.
Detail and colour spread no complaints; just that light output is very low.

    • 8"x3"x6" (WxHxD) to position comfortably on your billy bookcase shelving.
    • Standard C7/C8 power connector/inlet; easy to replace with long cord run.
    • Inputs; side inputs and outputs. Square vents flank the unit + underside.
    • Common remote control is common but with China projectors a step up in $.
    • Rear facing speaker. Max volume no distortion Freeview FV via Chromecast.

Verdict: At ease in a pitch-dark room? Set this $85 projector in said room.
Big, detailed picture and even fan noise contributed to at-the-cinema feel.

Yeah, it is a lot better than what I expected, of course it needs very dark room to watch and sound also not bad.

If you turn off your LG TV next to it the photo should look more clear 😉

      • Mine works pretty well during daytime too. Just need to cover windows with blinds

Make sure you claim the projector screen with product review on the card.

They will send it to me next week.

          • @superforever: Lol. Mate, I bought this months ago, don't think that would work

            • +1

@Scythic: LOL, currently I got this "Sorry, we are unable to accept reviews for this product. This product has limitations on submitting reviews. There can be a number of reasons for this, including unusual reviewing activity."

I just left feedback and emailed them.

              • @superforever: Sounds like someone reported the listing reviews 🤣

                • +2

@Scythic: The projector screen arrived from Amazon shipping, that is quick.

A white screen fabric with 4 x corner hooks, I am not going to stick it on the wall anyway 🙄

                  • @superforever: what's the size of the screen?

                    • +1

                      @jayzee: 100 inch

                      • @superforever: Still looking around how I can DIY a stand for the screen.

                        • @superforever: Get a 100" curtain rod (or attach a few together) and insert hooks into it then screw some long poles into the curtain rod and attach them to a weighted base.

  • Are there anyone else still waiting for their orders?

Got message it's to be delivered on Saturday, then it didn't come, advised on Wednesday, still didn't come.

I called Amazon, they said they were waiting for seller to fulfilment now, does Amazon operate like a drop-shipping here?
