Bought one, but don't have a camera. What else can I use it for?

    • +4

use it to hold your food… skewers, ice cream… u name it!

      • Do you need another accessory to attach to the clamp?

    • Attach Smartphone holder, I bought that reason.

    • Some logitech speakers, a lot of lights. theres a bunch of stuff with tripod mounts

    • +1

haha I also don't have a camera or tripod… but have some binoculars which I want to try see if they fit on…

      If not - a gift?

    • anything with a tripod hole 1/4 inch

Nipple clamps?, you might have to buy a second one?

      • +1

Depends on how many nipples you have I guess.

      • I may have bought the last one … for a friend…

        • Once you have made a purchase, you don't see the prime price anymore. So more are likely available.

I'm mounting my shotgun mic to my gimbal (if the gimbal ever gets out of Sydney with AusPost no moved in 20 days).

      • Are shotgun mics stereo? Mine (Rode VideoMic Go) has TRS connectors on the cable and I haven't used it in anger yet. I'm wondering how I can mount it to the gimbal facing the right orientation in case it is stereo.

    • I used it to hold my dual monitor setup since the grip on the stand wont hold the arm. literally this is whats holding my two monitor on the pole. been like this for a year now.

    • Free return?

    • There are a few prime day camera deals you could get into.

    • I bought one of these recently to mount a cheap projector (+ chromecast) to the top of my bedframe - projects onto a white wall at the foot of my bed. Works surprisingly well and only takes a minute to set up and pack away.

I use these for temporary VR Sensor mounts.

  • Ordered. Thanks OP.

  • can it securely hold a camera + lens?

    • Says 3kg is recommended Max weight, so yeah.

    • +1

it's rated at < 3kg. I would recommended any camera mounted should have a security cable attached to prevent drops or the clamp failing.

      • For overhead shots with cstand i have i am finding it super difficult to find something i can use to get overhead shots. any recommendations?

        • Difficulty because of the weight? There's larger versions of these that can take more weight, maybe not from Smallrig and not as cheap of course.

          • @apsilon: No not because of weight.

        • try looking at the manfrotto range, these are basically copies of the manfrotto super clamp. Try look at the magic arms, not with the knob locks.

          • @godofpizza: Sure. I'll have a look.

It's gonna be clamp this, clamp that. Bada-climp, bada-clamp!

  • That’s great and all, but what are we to do with just one. Ordered anyway, but I’d like five more.

    • I only needed one, but I feel for you. What would you do with the other 5?

      • I could mount my four video lights. Or three strobes. I don't have any solutions for mounting lights lower than four feet off the ground. I'm finding the space needed to set up light stands is a lot, when clamping it to a bit of wood or something might do anyway. And I have two cameras, so two clamps for cameras would be nice. And it'd be nice to set up multiple positions for a camera and be able to swap the camera between them with the ball locked to the same angle, that would actually be brilliant. Gorillapods and stuff I can never get to stay perfectly still when unshoeing the camera.

        • Nice setup.

          • @ShipShapeRC: It's really ugly set up actually, fan noises on the lights and cables everywhere. Always feels like too much effort, wish I could afford battery operated ones with silent fans but my photos aren't that good, I can only charge so much.

  • Just missed it :(
I didn't even need it and I'm gutted.

    Not available anymore?

    • +2

The item is sold out now.
Next deal will be Black Friday.

  • +4

    All gone.

BTW - Discovered I shouldn't type 'Clamp' into the Amazon app while co-workers are around. The auto suggest comes up with a few alternatives.

  • How would these be for a motorcycle?

    • +1

It can only hold 3kg, don't think it can handle your motorcycle :(

    • They could do 110km/h on the freeway.

  • Mine arrived, but what's the allen key for?
