Air Australia (formerly Strategic Airlines) are offering launch fares between Brisbane and Melbourne starting from $69 one way (inc tax) for flights starting on 15th December.

Brisbane to Melbourne flights to operate twice daily from Monday to Friday (departing at 6.10am and 1.30pm) and once daily on Saturday (departing 7.10am) and Sunday (departing 2.10pm).
Melbourne to Brisbane flights to operate twice daily from Monday to Friday (departing at 11.20am and 5.45pm) and once daily on Saturday (departing 11.20am) and Sunday (departing 6.30pm).

Sale ends 30th November. Does not seem to have any travel period exclusions after 15th December.
Other notable sales for Air Australia include $329 one way to Phuket and $349 one way to Honolulu for flights in mid Jan and late March 2012.

      They must be bad if you end up stranded in Phuket on this flight.

      Air Australia are leasing another A330 for their MEL/BNE to HNL services.
      Besides, the MEL to BNE services will use the smaller A320-200 but with more leg room compared to other airlines.

      Didnt they pay for the customers who were stranded? better than being stuck with some other airlines that wont. Further to that better than flying QANTAS where they cancel the flights and you dont get to go to Phucket!

    Still plenty available and I don't see others matching. Worth noting your $69 gets you 23kg Luggage as well. Booked a couple for my brother today.
