This one is Wifi 5 vs Wifi 6 from X570 Tomahawk

    • which is why I'm a bit sad my Techfast build has this one tbh (Presuming, was mentioned as 1 of 2 options, didn't receive yet) ;(

yeah it's a shame really, I would have prefer this over the tomahawk cause Asus has software integration with Corsair

    • now im torn between which one to get ahhh

Tomahawk also featuring a better VRM layout. Roughly 15 degrees difference under load with 3900x. If you plan on OC, go for the Tomahawk.

I have trouble OC 3200mhz CL16 Samsung B-die RAM, not sure if it's the board or I just have a bad silicon lottery

  • for someone coming out of the i7-2600k retirement train. What bang for buck CPU would suit this board!?

me personally ill be going a 3700x for 415$ on the same sale

3700X is probably the sweet spot for performance/cost/longevity from this point due to 8 cores vs 6 cores - common speculation right now is next gen games will optimize for 8 cores to match latest gen consoles. Of course no guarantee it will have the legs your 2600k did though.

3600 is still the best option for budget builds.

10600KF is between the two, and best in absolute gaming performance (if you only game) due to single core performance.

This is very simplified and there's lots of other factors that come into play (motherboard selection, productivity vs gaming, socket future, TDP, OC potential, affect of faster memory, etc.) but overall, I think these are the 'bang for buck' options without getting into the 'diminishing returns' realm.
