40% off Coffee (Coffee Beans $30/KG) @ Inglewood Coffee Roasters

291
HOMECOFFEE

One-time generic 40% off code I received through Instagram. This place offers delicious coffee in quality packaging, and there aren't too many other good deals on coffee beans at the moment.

Not sure if it works on merch and other coffee paraphernalia they sell, code is supposed to be just for coffee.

From Insta:

Thanks for showing us your home coffee setup! Your one is [sic] time us [sic] 40% off code is 'HOMECOFFEE'
This code only applies for coffee and is to be used in October.
Enjoy
Inglewood.

  • I see these guys posted weekly, at this point they've basically got free marketing. How do they compare to the other speciality roasters like blacklist?

    • Haven't tried Blacklist but was pleased with the quality last time I ordered Inglewood, must have been four months ago or so

      • what style are you pouring? Expresso or pour over

        • Espresso, usually cappuccino

I think they're actually pretty great. I'd never heard of them before and scrolled passed their deal on ozbargain.. with wfh and lockdown #2.0 nespresso just was not cutting it. On one of our daily walks we passed a really busy (takeaway only) cafe and had to get two coffees for the walk up and the walk back. Somehow recognised the logo of the beans they were topping up as Inglewood beans! Googled and found they're actually quite an empire https://www.smh.com.au/business/small-business/meet-the-mult… and they're pivoting for the at home market who are missing our real coffees. https://www.theindomitables.co/stories/inglewood-coffee-roas… . Ordered the discounted Roosevelt beans the next day (because that's what the cafe used)… And a coffee machine as well. Absolutely no regrets. Full disclosure I haven't bought St Alis, Melba, Axil or Proud Mary's beans to try making myself at home but hubby and I both agree that I'm now making lattes better than 1/2 the cafes we tried in our pre-covid life. Not sure if you're in Melb but this is an old article about where you might find their coffee https://no-bs.com.au/inglewood-coffee-roasters-first-came-ca… and this was the cafe we passed that use their coffee https://www.google.com.au/maps/place/Blakes+Feast+Catering/@…
PS Have now bought Sunset Blvd as quite a few comments saying its great for lattes.

I did the Insta marketing activity for you, so you don't have to!

obligatory - Inglewood never sent me an order confirmation and deleted multiple posts off their social media pages when customers expressed concern about them being hacked.

Still no response to customers about what actually happened.

Also, is this the same deal? I'm not too sure - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/570950

Saw this post on the other deal (technically the same but was negged because there was no coupon code - posting separately to be useful to OzBargainers). Inglewood seem to have got their affairs in order now. Not sure how a coffee company is responsible for hacking via Instagram but am not interested in the details. Just here to drink good coffee!

      • If they are not responsible, why didn't they communicate that they have addressed the issue? Deleting posts sounds incredibly unprofessional to me.

One bloke in the other deal says he had his details compromised. Hard to know who is responsible if social media posts are deleted and the issue is unaddressed.

that bloke used paypal, inglewoods woocommerce wouldnt have his card details stored
what the hell are u even on about

          • @furythree: I think this is what okbianca was originally referring to:

            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/567275?page=2#comment-9338…

If you keep reading, you can see the comments about deleted social posts.

To me, a simple email or statement may have helped prevent any angst that was caused.

            • @arcticmonkey: i know

im not saying they wernt hacked

im saying its not possible for his credit card details to be stolen becuse he used paypal. its not how hacking works unless the hacker compromised paypal. that would be a bigger scandal

Word of Advice. Don't use Victorian roasters if you're from a different state. Shipping delays are a sad reality due to COVID
Stick to Arjo (QLD), Campos (Sydney? I think), Pablo and Rusty (Sydney), manna beans (QLD??)….

    Little Marionette (sydney). https://thelittlemarionette.com/shop?category=Blend

    • Good to know - any deals from these roasters?

      • Bunch of targetted deals but they pop up time to time. Pablo and Rusty is my favourite when it goes on sale.
ARjo is good for super strong coffee. That stuff gives me cocaine (not that I've done cocaine lol) level alertness.

        • I like Pablo and Rusty's too, but haven't seen deals in some time (and I'm subscribed). Just a shortage of significant discounts on beans these days due to more people coffeeing at home.

      • Five senses has 20% off at the moment with promo code brewtown

I compared Inglewood and Five senses prefer five senses for v60

      • This deal from the grounds is good at around $38/kg delivered. I’ve often got mine in 2 days in Sydney.

Haven't had any problems with inglewood or recently lime blue coffee roasters (?).

Generally Inglewood is slower on the delivery front, so just order it a week before you need it.

      • Okay great. Do you live in VIC?

      • except for the last 50% off deal!
i allowed for a week and a bit and it arrived the next day :(

    • Auspost seems to sort out their delay, my order last week turn up after 2 days, one was local the other from Sydney. 2 weeks before similar orders took over a week to arrive.

    • Same thing applies but in reverse. My Arjo order has been stuck in Sydney for over a week.

    • i prefer campos over anything but they are never on sale

      • +1

There's a store in Newtown that sells it. They sometimes have a sale on one or two blends. Still a rip off to be honest haha

    • hmm.. there is a delay with auspost. due to warehousing restrictions etc auspost vic mail was being diverted to nsw to be processed and back to vic even if it was for vic internal packages… with restrictions lifting, seems that they are catching up but there is still an approximate 3 day delay according to their website: - https://auspost.com.au/about-us/news-media/important-updates… . Being in VIC, I must have lucked out on the delivery timelines because my last order was roasted the day after I ordered and I received within 3 days… That's still well within the 8-21days that's generally thought of for best consumption from what I've read?
To not support good companies in VIC that are probably doing it tough and battling to stay afloat seeing as cafes and restaurants are closing left right and centre, on reduced capacity with no eat-ins, our 5km restrictions etc is kinda a bit like a kicking a dog when he's down though.

  • Love their pods! Would highly recommend them.

    • me too. i have to usually use 2 pods for it to be strong enough for me though.

still prefer the pods from Pod and Parcel though.

  • Anyone tried their Roosevelt and NICARAGUA filter beans?

    • Just about to ask about Roosevelt too. Want to know if it's good for milk-based coffees.

    • +1

Just finished 1kg Roosevelt as espresso with milk and it was good. Sunset BLVD is good too. I had Colombia single origin previously, not as good as the other two with milk but should be good black.

      • +1

Thanks for your reply. I've just about finished Sunset and it was good. Will try Roosevelt now.

      • Cheers. Have been going with Sunset for the last 2kgs now, how would you compare the two? Do the fruitier notes come through on the Roosevelt?

  • Super slow postage to NSW. Wanted to treat myself to very fresh coffee for once instead of supermarket stuff. I put the wrong suburb on my order, so it sat in their warehouse for a week going nowhere and they didn't message me to tell me. Then another week to get here. Two week old coffee by the time I tried it.

    • That's a shame, will post with the amount of time it takes to get mine when it arrives.

      • +1

Last time it took 10 days for me even it's only 15km from there.

    • +2

that's only slightly longer than the recommended time between roast and brewing

    • +5

so its their fault u put the wrong address

The limited edition Sugar Daddy blend from the previous deal was delicious. I don't need any more coffee but would definately buy that for the freezer if it was available!

    • +1 for Sugar Daddy
Also really like the Sunset Boulevard
Fast shipping experience in Vic over many orders

Just purchased Roosevelt and Colombia Spirit of Peace. Great deal.
