ULED - No thanks
QLED - Nope
OLED - Amazing!
MicroLED - What I really want.
Isnt ULED just Hisense version of QLED?
I believe it is, but I can honestly be wrong on that. I'm not well versed on HiSense TV's, I'm much better with knowledge on LG, Samsung and SONY TVs.
No, Hisense H8F ULED doesn't feature quantum dots.
In fact ULED is nothing more than a buzzword.
No, Hisense H8F ULED doesn't feature quantum dots.
Good thing this isn't the H8F then, it's the Q8 which features quantum dots.
Tech-lovers will relish in the picture quality offered by the Q8 ULED TV, which harnesses industry-leading Hisense QLED Quantum Dot Colour together with Full Array Local Dimming Pro and 200 Smooth Motion Rate, to offer impressive colour accuracy and definition.
@eug: I am talking about ULED in general, not a particular ULED model.

Unlike OLED and QLED, which refer to tangible pieces of hardware, ULED is a proprietary term that refers to a suite of Hisense hardware and Hisense software working in tandem. According to Hisense, ULED is "20 picture patents working together to optimize backlighting, motion, and color data for the best viewing experience."
I am talking about ULED in general, not a particular ULED model.
You quoted a particular model number that isn't the model that this deal is about, and that nobody brought up.
This ULED TV does have quantum dots, so if you intended to talk in general terms, to avoid misinformation, you should have mentioned that what you said does not apply to the TV in this deal instead of quoting a model number that looks a lot like you mixed the two models up.
@eug: That's why I quoted a particular model to speak out the fact that ULED is nothing more than a buzzword created by Hisense.
alenpelin and KARMAAA were talking about ULED in general, please read their posts carefully.
alenpelin and KARMAAA were talking about ULED in general
Right, I see where you're coming from, but context is important. This post is about the 65Q8 ULED TV, so alenpelin would have been referring to the 65Q8 when he said it's not as good as OLED, which it isn't of course.
You joined the discussion saying ULED is not QLED and gave an irrelevant model number which is misleading, because this ULED TV is a QLED model. If you were really intending to talk about ULED in general you should have said the H8F is not QLED but this Q8 is.
5% off code workn this?
Yes, it does.
My Hisense 65 R7 got damaged and claiming it through insurance.. Insurance will match specs wise and there's no R7 anymore. The cheapest I can see with a 200 motion rate is the P9 or R8 at 1.5k… Is it worth adding the extra for the Q8?
hdmi 2.1?
Waiting for Appliance Central price drop to sub $1600, if not then I’ll wait for Black Friday/December sale and get a LG OLED (very different TVs I know).
Very happy with this TV. Bought it when appliance central had it for $1600
I got an R8 75 would never buy an Hisense again their junk operating system is awful, chromecast never works, deleted free to air channels re appear, slow, lagging.
Cheaper on the Good Guys eBay store 15% off $1695.75

Just be aware of the panel lottery with Hisense. I bought a 75" and it had terrible black uniformity with a huge area of backlight bleeding centrally. Ended up returning it and replaced it for a Sony X90H.
How's the X90H going so far? I'm tipping between that and Samsung Q70T (65").
Our old Hisense (65P7) has issues turning on sometimes. It’s become more frequent over the past 6 months, the screen just stays black when we turn it on. Have to unplug/replug the power cable for it to turn on cause there’s no power button on the TV. It is still under warranty but I cbf going through the process, I’ll just get rid of it when the time comes and won’t buy a Hisense again. Haven’t had any issues with the Sony’s we’ve owned over the years. You get what you pay for.
I agree the software isn't great most of the time. I've owned an m7000, the main problem being the interface is laggy as anything and integrated apps seemingly never got HDR support. We now have a 65P7 as well and for a long time it had the following issues:
1. Netflix/youtube would hard lock the TV. No I mean it - You'd be scrolling through the menus and the remote will stop working and you'd literally have to get up and switch the power point off and on again.
2. Smooth motion would randomly turn itself back on when I turned it off. It would still say it was disabled in the menu, but it was definitely on. To fix you'd have to switch it on and off again in the menu or change the picture preset to something different and then back to the current preset.
I knew it would be the software, so even when I called TGG all they could do is send Hisense to replace the mainboard. Obviously replacing the mainboard isn't going to fix the software, but I thought i'd humour them anyway. I called Hisense to say it didn't work and they tried to send me a usb with new software that the TV didn't even recognise. The guy also mentioned the TV hasn't even had an OTA update, which was a good year after it was released.
In any case, there has been one software update since I've owned the TV and that fixed every single one of those issues. In short, Hisense might be a safer buy if you wait until a little closer to the end of their release cycle. The panel was pretty good for the $1k mark though.
I do recall reading other people had the issues you mentioned, thankfully I haven't noticed/we haven't experienced them yet (and we've had it since launch).
I have noticed Netflix would sometimes become unresponsive while trying to launch something to watch. I always thought it was the TV's network connection dropping out cause the videos wouldn't load, it would buffer to 20% and just stay there. Turning it off then back on again would result in the black screen so had to unplug it to get it working again.
Apart from this TV has been great.
Can anyone confirm if this has a 120hz native refresh rate?
ULED is just a good LED, not even close to OLED.
