does the whole series fit on one disc?

    also 9.4 is underrated

    • It's 3 disks.

  • The greatest show in the 'verse.

  • Does this include Serenity?

EDIT: Don't know for sure, but there's an option to bundle purchase this with Serenity, so I'd assume that means it's not included in this item.

    • It's not included.

    • ummm….do u mean the movie or the 2 hour pilot for the series? (im pretty sure the pilot was called serenity as well)

i would hope it does come with the pilot, you are meant to watch it first (some mightn't make sense without it)

      • +1

Assuming it's the same as my copy, includes the pilot but not the movie.

    • The Amazon (US) website shows Serenity (Part 1 & 2) on Disk One

  • Region B compatible? Sweet.

Although the DVDs work fine, have the same features, and the show's look was deliberately… well, I don't want to say "low quality", but deliberately low light, shot on film, grainy… deliberately rough looking? Is that right?

So I'm not sure BD is work the extra. But still, if you want it, great price.

  • Lowest price ever. Bloody good find on this one.

  • I'll punch the guy who got this cancelled
    Also

    Summer Glau

you want to punch Summer? thats harsh! :S

not with my fists, you can guess with what though ;)

        • nope? with what?

        • with his phalanges maybe?

        • =3

        • +1

With your love - am I correct? You want to punch her with your love…

        • He wants to hit that. He wants to hit it like the angry fist of god.

And shame on him for not wanting to do that to pretty much the entire cast.

        • you guys are doing it on purpose now, aren't you…I really don't want to say it on a public forum

        • well if u did in the first place, we wouldn't have any of this.

        • say what on a public forum?

          i dont get it ;).

  • lol 'complete series'. wish we could say that was more than 1 season.

    • Yeah, it was like half a season :(

  • never seen this show but keep hearing people talk about it.

I would say Lost is the best show I've seen so far and I also enjoyed shows like The Ev3nt, V and Flashforward which were all cancelled after 1-2 seasons.

Will I, a) Enjoy this based on my liking of lost? and b) for those who have seen it does it have a satisfying ending or a cliffhanger like the event and flash forward had.

Don't think I can invest in a show only to have end on a cliff hanger..

    Thanks.

    • +1

make sure u watch the movie "serenity" after the series if u want a satisfying ending. Series itself doesnt end properly without it.

Edit: just to clarify (i re-read your question), the series was canceled without an ending (like those shows u mentioned) but they made a movie to end it.

    • Firefly didn't end on any kind of cliff hanger.

Things were unresolved, as is likely to happen when a show is cut off mid-season, but everyone is safe and sound. Even if it had reached the end of the season, it's highly unlikely there would have been a cliff hanger (unless the network execs demanded one) as Whedon tends to resolve a season on the last episode. It's the sign of a good writer - actually having a story arc and resolution.

Various threads were left open, because there was no chance to finish them when the hammer came down (they ended production on an episode that was a backstory heavy character development episode, not particularly related to the overall plot lines). It definitely leaves you wanting more episodes… but not because you need to find out what happened, but because you want to see the characters and their universe again.

It is not like Lost, which was a one season premise that they continually pushed forward with inane extensions and false resolutions. You may dislike it on this basis, as you're not used to good writing.

        hipster response

        • Hipsters study script writing?

  • Finally, a chance to see what the fuss is all about!

  • Thanks, just bought Firefly: The Complete Series [Blu-ray] + Serenity [Blu-ray] for a total of AU$37.40 delivered.

Shipping for each of those items was $6.05, but was only $7.05 for both.

Shame the Super Saver Shipping on Amazon US does not apply to Australia, whereas on Amazon UK that offer was recently extended to 31 Oct 2012…

    • I made the same order from Amazon.co.uk when they released the set earlier this year at 17.99 pound (£21.65 for both with minus Vat), ended up around the $32 mark delivered (AU was stronger back then vs pound)

  • Best series and movie ever!

    • Seconded!

    • The movie was a re-hash of the series… although it was nowhere as good. That said, if the series didn't exsist then the movie would have been tops!

  • +1

Hahaha, JB is seriously selling it for $76.99? That's $5.50 per episode!

  • Time to sell the DVDs and have a re-watch

  • If you like sci-fi then you might as well get this. You can't go wrong for the price. Not a lot of episodes but there were no bad ones in my opinion.

  • Received in mail today. awesome awesome stuff!!!
