  • Anyone have this and have any feedback? I currently have a G510

Got one before all the restrictions kicked in earlier in the year. It's a great mechanical keyboard, wireless is a huge plus. Switching between devices is super easy and quick too. I'd recommend it, but this is pretty expensive compared to when I got it from this deal. Then again, it's a different time.

edit: btw, it comes with a pretty cool separate phone stand too.

        Are the keys backlit?

        • +1

          They are not

        • The lettering are also stickers too so YMMV. I've been using mine daily for over a year now and the plastic has gotten shiny, but the stickers remain strong. Stealth mod later on? :P

    • +2

Romer-G switches (personal preference), no backlight, quite bulky as a wireless board

    • I use keyboard quite often. I find it really nice to type on. One con that I would say is that you can here a 'ding' sound every time you hit a key, it's not the sound that a normal mechanical keyboard makes.

    • Its ok overall, 2 AA batteries can last for a few months. To me its not worth above $140 with all the kinks I had and what I read.

      • The AA batteries that came with the keyboard have lasted me a year and a half. I was unemployed and playing video games for hours a day and I don't turn it off at all.

    • I've been using this for a year and a half and it's a good keyboard, but not better than my original G610 Orion Brown. I ended up going back and using the G613 on my Samsung TV instead.

  • do I have a chance what switch I buy?
    I prefer blue.

    • +3

These are Romer-G's - closest comparison would be something like the Cherry Browns (tactile).

      • -1

        I want blue only..
Is this keyboard considerably light and thin?

        • 1.4kg - relatively heavy.

          • @jjsu: Thanks would ignore then.

              @Kawaii: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/keytron/keychron-k3-ult…

I've backed this, light and thin. Theres an option for blues ~ $120 AUD shipped for the non-RGB

              • @clanton: What’s advantage of “optical” over mechanical?

                • +1

@AlexF: Faster actuation time and no chance of double-registration of the click, which isn't a huge issue on keyboard but is hella inconvenient in mouse switches.

                  • @Chazzozz: My main concern would be built-in battery - if not replaceable, what's guaranteed minimum 50% charge lifetime?

                    • +1

@AlexF: Thankfully, it's not a built-in battery on this 'board, it uses 2 x AA cells. That means there should be no problem with battery fade over time, just swap 'em out for a fresh set when they get low or keep a supply of rechargeables on-hand. Since this is OzBargain I'll assume you have a ready cache of Eneloops somewhere. ;-)

                      • @Chazzozz:

it uses 2 x AA cells

Specifications say Rechargeable li-polymer battery - nothing about AA.

                        • @AlexF:

                          • 1550mAh, rated to work for 34hrs (Backlight on, better results with it off). Rechargeable via USB C, also works wired.
                        • @AlexF: Mea Culpa, I apologise as I was talking about the G613 and not the Keytron. Apparently I fail at reading threads properly. Facepalm

I see your point now that you'd be concerned about the Keytron's battery failing in due course. That's a limitation of any rechargeable system, but what would really set it apart from others is if it's user-replaceable. I haven't had time to look into the Keytron in detail so I can't comment on that, but if they build it to allow that then it'll be streets ahead of the competition.

          • @jjsu: wtf? That's heavier than my dell vostro laptop

  • Got 2 of these for work and Home.

Bought both of them around $110 few years back.

Can't believe this price is a reduced price

  • +1

Bought it ~$120 in June, sell it in August. The feedback is terrible, not worth $168 tbh

    • Same for me. It’s good but not worth RRP.

  • +2

It’s not a gaming keyboard if it does not have RGB.

    • Doesn't even have regular backlight either…

      • +3

you’d want regular backlit even for just office work when lighting isn’t the best …..

  • Is there a good or decent wireless keyboard without the macro keys and has the media keys? I want use this at home for office and gaming.

    • +1

If you want dedicated media keys… I think logitech are one of the few https://www.umart.com.au/Logitech-G915-TKL-Lightspeed-Wirele…

Good reviews but pricey, and thats cheaper than RRP

    • I have Logitech K780 which is full sized and has media keys.

Took me a while getting used to the round keys. It’s very low profile with no height options. Battery still going strong for about a year. The bundled software is glitchy to say the least. It’s well built and stick to the desk and can connect to three devices.

Like most things Logitech it’s overpriced. I got mine secondhand for $40. For that price it’s been worth it.

      Hope that helps.

  • God damn! 2 years ago, I got it for 95$ from JB Hifi. Sadly it now has a problem with double inputs when typing so I had to go back to the G15. I narrowed it down to crap firmware/software.

    • If it is under warranty, give a call to Logitech.
Had the same issue and they replaced one of my keyboards.

Tell that it is your keyboard for WORK 😂

      • I tried even though it was out of warranty, they would not do it. As a consolation they did send me another g703 mouse because the mouse wheel was wonky and that was still under warranty. Ironically I use the old spare for work now.

  • +1

I have one and I'd say it's not a very good keyboard Mine is very pingy (there's a weird ping/ding echo from the switches with the metal top plate). Also after <12 months several letterings have chipped off. I works say it's quite loud too. I feel it's louder than my Cherry MX browns.

Being able to connect to 2 devices is really convenient and the main reason I wanted it.

Overall I'd say unless you need wireless/multi-device I wouldn't recommend

  • Who will use a wireless keyboard to play games?

    • +1

Yeah I must say on a desktop system I don't get why you would want a wireless keyboard, especially for games, unless you are playing turn based games or solitaire
