Linksys WAG54G v3 Wireless ADSL Modem/Router $10 at Radio Rentals Gepps Cross SA

280

Found this today at the Gepps Cross store in SA. Not sure if other stores have it, seems to be a great price for a standby or replacement when wireless N is not needed.

There was a couple left this morning, was also a linksys N WAP/Router (no modem) for $10 or $20 and there was also an ADSL modem/router only for $10 as well (didnt get the model numbers though).

Specs found on whirlpool have the original RRP as $199, cheapest I could find quickly online was around $40 and much better than the $100 from a previous post http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/21858

  • Cheers for sharing, good to see some local Adelaide deals :P Any good sales at Gepps Cross?

OP its a router not a modem..

It's a modem router. Read what's printed on the box (i.e. ADSL gateway), not the sales tag which is often written by some clueless sales Rep.

  • is this v1 or v2? v1 is ADSL only while v2 is ADSL2+

    • This should be the v3. Their v1/ v2 model was a blue/black coloured box that sat horizontally.

  • 802.11G, that's why they are selling for $10.

    • yeah, pretty much junk, but great bargain for someone who doesn't realise it.

  • Ok modern for normal internet useage, while not good for BT, I bought this one 3 years ago for $130. $10 is a good price for sure.

+1 for sharing even though I'm nowhere near SA.

  • Nice price for a backup I guess, but this line of modem are notorious for encountering problems, the majority based around the thing dropping auth

great deal picked this up for $130 2 years ago at MSY sydney. Great router, stable on TPG for all of its use.. firmware update documentation very flaky though… initially caused some wifi problems but once properly updated worked fine
