130

I saw this on Kogan today, after I paid $199 a couple weeks ago…

Hopefully I can cancel and re-order since its a pre-order!

Anyway, this won't ship til November 30 but it looks like a good deal if you need a cheap home gym.

Whether it’s leg day or bicep week, the all-in-one design of the Fortis Home Gym Multi-Function Power Tower has your workout needs covered.

Work your chest, back, biceps, triceps and core
Sweat-proof high-density cushions for superior comfort
Durable, heavy-duty powder-coated steel structure

Save money on expensive gym fees and get a gym-grade workout from the comfort of your own home with the Fortis Home Gym Multi-Function Power Tower.

Gym-grade equipment at your fingertips

Smash your fitness goals and shred away with bodyweight exercises like pull-ups, dips, leg lifts, bench presses, push ups and core exercises without any additional equipment.

An intermediate workout might include:

20 x Chair dips, 30 x sit ups, 12 x pull ups, 15 x V sit up, 15 x push ups, 10 x chin ups, 1 × 45 second plank, 15 x squats and 15 x decline pushes.
If full bodyweight exercises are too challenging to begin with, support bands can help lighten your body weight and alleviate pressure while you build strength.

Compact and sweat-proof design

Sweat it out with durable sweat-proof material and high-density bench and elbow cushions, helping to keep you supported and comfortable during your session. The power tower also doesn’t require much space, a corner in your garage will do. After smashing it out, simply wipe clean for your next use.

    For reference, I'm 170cm and weigh 70kg.
I got this during 1st wave of covid

Got to be extra careful as the whole thing will rock (i.e. swinging during a pull-up) since the whole frame is very light and it will flex.

Tried benching (Max. 60 KG) on this with standard olympic barbells.
Annoying because you will need to put a pillow where your head is, and the hook are awkwardly placed at the widths of where your hands would want to grasp along the bar.
Also, the flat bench is held up by a thin piece of rod at the hinge and the leg stand on the other side (I always put another box underneath just incase it will collapse).

    TL;DR
Doesn't replace a gym membership, but it's "good enough" to do a few light exercise (pull-ups and ab workouts)

;) maybe, you can definitely take my opinion with a grain of salt.

      • +7

I’ll stick with equipment that can cope with a bit of poor form without collapsing.

    • Yeah, not having a go at you or anything but the pull ups should be controlled and neat. I do hanging full leg lifts to my face and pays to stay steady.

That said, the shoddy pin in the bench is sketchy. And i've used a home gym where the hooks site on the outer bar. you can really pinch your hands, its terrible. Can you switch the hooks to the other side of the stand?

I just note some pirates were selling the door pull up bars for $80+ duiring lockdown so this seems great if you have the room.

All good, took nothing personal - just trying to be helpful.

        You're spot on.
Definitely good enough when you're doing your workouts as controlled/neat/static/perfect as you can.

Hooks here are definitely a pinching hazard when you're trying to put the barbell back down (based on my height/preference).

    • +4

how are you 70 kgs only being ozbargainer

      • +1

that's 70kg of chocolate covered Oreo goodness

    • I bought almost an exact same one off eBay a couple of years back. From my experience, chin-ups, pull-ups and dips are fine as long as you don't swing erratically. The bench though is a bit unstable. It's held together by a few bolts down the middle of the bench. I would imagine lying on it with weights would break it if you leaned to either side.

    • sounds like absolute rubbish.. But can't expect much for this price.

As you stated, ok for some light weight workouts.

  • +7

It said max weight is only 100KG. Body weight plus weight plate would easily go over already. Not good at all.

    • +2

so if someone weights 99.5kgs, would that mean they need to train on this naked?

      • +3

Take a 10kg poo to have some headroom for variances

    • so if your 90kg you can only lift 10kg anymore when the bench might break

  • Kogan First not included.. #profanity

  • Whether it’s leg day

I don't see how would you train legs on that thing

    • I got got away with this "Power Tower" during covid by doing front-squats whilst using the dipping-bars to rack/hold-up the barbell.
Again, wouldn't go heavy since it was definitely NOT designed for it.

Damn I read this as Power Toilet

The frame looks really skinny and I won't trust this thing for squat or bench press.
