    Shopback…… Your move.

    • +15

Better be a bloody good move.

      • +41

In fairness, it should be noted shopback's 10% is uncapped.

They're also offering a one off $5 bonus for purchases over $20.

        • +2

They have different sweet spots and you can use both on separate purchases.

          • +11

@Hellfire: Indeed, however, if you've only got one item to buy, use shopback for a purchase under $100, or over $245.

            • +3

@ash2000: *Use Cashrewards for $100-$200, the $5 bonus on Shopback brings down the upper limit :)

            • +7

@ash2000: And this is why we should pay attention in class at school. None of this Mary is traveling on train… It should be Johnny is on eBay, should he use CR or SB to get the biggest cashback?

              • +1

@tessel: Indeed, except I would have failed because my original range for using CR is incorrect as @buckstopshere points out. 😢

                It should have read $100-$200.

        • Shopback is capped at 50 $ for any cashback

      • +28

Shop back offer 20% of your personal information will be protected.

    • +18

      Their move to improve security?

      • +3

People need to stop being so carefree about their personal data on arbitrary services - hell, people think I'm crazy for trying to avoid giving it away. With the number of data breaches that come up in the news these days, it's not if your data will be exposed, it's when. Considering such, your best bet is to scrutinise the info you hand out, and criticise services which demand too much.

Mandating mobile number on signup was a big red flag for me - why I never bothered signing up in the first place.

People like to whinge about companies that leak info, which is certainly warranted, but isn't justification for not being diligent about protecting their own info in the first place.

    • +13

Shopback made more money selling our info to scammers and calling it a 'data breach'

    • ShopBack cannot respond with a deal exactly like this. I'm quite sure TA can confirm that these types of deals are weeks in the making. You cant just click your fingers and make it happen.

    • Shapbacks move was to offer 10%, but there's now loads of reports of cash back not tracking and them denying all claims. See comments https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/9382658/redir

  • +3

    Great deal, thanks TA.

    • -3

      HEY WHY DESKTOP ONLY??

      • That's my rules and I'm not changing them.

  • +27

Maximum cashback achieved at $166 for those that can't be bothered doing the maths

    • +8

      $183.33 including gst.

      • -3

        so which is it

        $183.33 or $166.67?

        • 183.33

          • +7

@Mike Okkerts: $166 for a product shipped within Australia, $183 for a product shipped from overseas (using eBay AU).

            • @ash2000: How does it works if I buy some within and some outside AU ? No Im not trying to be a smarty pant, it is a genuine quiz

              • +2

@frewer: Because items outside Australia incur gst levied by eBay which is not included in the cashback.

EBay does not collect gst for items sold domestically.

                • @ash2000: I can't do math.
What's the max items I can buy?

                  • +2

@fadeinthemix: CR = unlimited Max $25 cashback per customer.

SB = One transaction unlimited cashback.

    • +3

As someone who's Menulog-subsidised coffee hasn't arrived yet, thank you.

  • +4

Can we use our targeted $20 with this?

    • -6

The third dot point answers your question.

      • It's not a discount or coupon code.

        • So it takes $20 off? Sounds like a discount.

          • +3

@Clear: It's an extra $20 cash back from Cashrewards and applies for any purchase not just eBay, so no reason it shouldn't stack with this.

            • +1

@MitchyD1989: can anyone test? I have the $20 ending today

            • @MitchyD1989:

@Clear: It's an extra $20 cash back from Cashrewards and applies for any purchase not just eBay, so no reason it shouldn't stack with this.

My apologies. I thought it was a targeted $20 from eBay and not Cashrewards. So yes it'll stack :)

            • @MitchyD1989: Ah I see, sorry. I thought thought the same as Clear did.

          • +1

@Clear: Yeah but it says "discount coupon". However, there is no coupon, it's just a bonus $20 so I was wondering if a rep could confirm as I cant find it in the terms and conditions.

            • +11

@J6: Provided you follow the eBay terms, there is no reason you can’t stack any CR promotional bonus with this capped offer.

  • +2

max cashback of $25 @15% reached on $166.67 spend. Comparably shopback would be $21.67, with 10% back plus $5 bonus.

    • +1

$183 for items originating from overseas as gst is levied and excluded from cashback.

  • Hi TA. If I make a purchase, and subsequently make a best price guarantee claim to get the price difference in voucher. Am I still eligible for cash back?

    • +1

This looks intresting, want to know aswell.

    • +1

I have previously done this and received the cashback from CR without issues. I believe because it's not a cash refund back against the item, it won't affect the tracking. Always a risk I guess but I can't see it being an issue.

  • +1

I'm assuming products from eBay international sellers aren't included for cashback?

    • This looks intresting, want to know aswell.

  • @tightarse. I bought two items in the same transaction. 1 got tracked but the other high value item didn't?

    • -2

Afaik ta doesn't work for them. Contact customer service at cash rewards.

      • +3

He works for them and there is a store rep tag next to his name…

        • +1

Lol, my bad. I had no idea as he's a prolific poster here.

      • +9

Dude have you been living under a rock 😄

        • +1

          Twenty minutes from coffee

  • +22

Thanks TA. Perfect time to get the 860 Evo 1TB.

    $179 Delivered @ Futu eBay - $25 CR - $29 Cashback - $10.50 eBay Voucher matching Umart :) Effective price of $114.50.

    • $25 cap?

      • +1

$25 Cap on CR and $29 Cashback from Samsung :)

        • +3

          Ah. I don’t need it… I don’t need it… must resist.

    • +1

You sir, are a genius. A deal like this makes me wish I didn't already have 3TB SSD storage in my PC…

    • How did you price match Umart?

Deliery is $10 for me on umart so it ends up being the same price as Futu.

      • +1

I would have thought they could match the C&C price? If not, can also match Centrecom for a few dollars more including delivery..

        • Thank you.

I always thought they would add postage in even if C&C is available just to compare apples with applies.

          • +1

@currentfad: I would have thought so also, but seems as though that's not the case in some of these instances. Can confirm they beat on the $169 price for me just fine.

        • Are you guys worried the SSD itself would not arrive in time? ?
Last time I remembered I had to submit photo of the SSD sticker/box to claim Sammy cashback…

      • +7

Just FYI, I just did this purchase. Bought for $179 from Futu, eBay price guarantee to umart pickup at $169.

Voucher of $18.45 ($10 price difference + 5pc of the umart price).

        So net price is $179 - $25 CR - $29 cashback - $18.45 eBay price guarantee voucher = $106.55.

Timely as just building another gaming PC at home. 1TB SSDs are perfect for that - enough room for OS and a bunch of games.

        Thanks doweyy.

        • Good to know, thanks!

        • +1

That's great, might be worth noting that you can purchase an eBay gift card with the voucher :)

    • +1

Cashback is ineligible if discount coupons or promo codes are applied to any transaction.

but I think using voucher will make the cashback ineligible?

      • I just did it, actually the voucher is post-payment, so CR wouldn't reject it.

You have to effectively pay for the product full price and they give you the difference +5% after you make the purchase.

    • Just bought this with a $10 off $100 Voucher 2 days ago….

    • +3

      Thanks for the info!

I just did that and it seems that eBay CS screwed up my price beat so I ended up getting a $27 voucher instead…

      $179 delivered @ Futu eBay

      • $25 CR
      • $29 CB
      • $27 eBay (screwup)
      • $17.90 (10% eBay gift cards from wayyy long ago)

      = $80.10

      Profit!!!

      • Wow lucky you lol! I just bought mine and got an $18.45 voucher in live chat, the same as above. Still a great price either way :)

Note, you can use the voucher to buy an eBay gift card!

    • Great find

      $179 Delivered @ Futu eBay

Do they provide Tax invoice to claim?
Ends 9th apparently, will the Unit arrive in time??

is there a Samsung 'authorized' list they have to be on?

$10.50 eBay Voucher matching Umart :)

How did you get this "eBay Voucher" for matching???

      • Ordered one 2 days ago from Futu eBay and received the Tax invoice yesterday, its titled K.S. Computer Solution PTY LTD, which is an Authorized Retailer for the purposes of the Cash Back. Yet to receive the SSD but should arrive this week if not Monday.

        • Yeah interesting thread about Futu/KS and general Samsung frustrations; also saw you're bottom commenter :)
Also how did they send an invoice if ordered on eBay, was it a proper PDF?

And what makes you so optimistic about such quick deliv (has it improved that much??) -
I just find it hard to believe it would arrive 2-3 business days after you ordered it???

          • +1

@capslock janitor: I just received it today in a Shopping Express box, I'm pleasantly surprised considering it's Standard Post and I live in Melbourne.

The Invoice was sent to my email directly in PDF form, now I'm going to submit the Cash Back claim.

    • +1

How do you get the ebay voucher matching Umart?

      • Go onto eBay live chat and ask to raise an eBay Price Guarantee case. Then give them your order number and the Umart product link and they will process the voucher for you.

  • -1

Are there any coupons in effect at eBay for computer gear?

    • +1

Coupons will make your cashback void.

      • -1

I understand that, looking at options.

        • So we will generate forthe amount of $18.45 . This covers the difference of the price plus 5% of the competitor's price.
          Mary Alomi
          10:21 AM
This is a one time use only and will expire after 30 days from today. The coupon is posted in the Summary page of your My eBay.

    • Why?

      • -2

        Why?

  • Perfect timing for me. Got a genuine Cerato boot liner for ~$115 after cashback, delivered. RRP on the KIA website is $148. I assume this item should be eligible?
