Hi TA. Just to clarify, the "Once per Member" in the title applies to the $25 cap, but not the number of transactions, as in the description it stated

irrespective of the number of transactions made

So a Cashrewards member can make multiple transactions but the sum of the cashback of the transactions during this promotional campaign would be capped at $25?

    • +12

Spot on Scotty, thanks for the pickup. Make as many transactions as you like, but the total cashback across the lot will cap out at $25. As an example, if you make a purchase of $100, you’ll get $15 cashback. Make a second purchase of $100, you’ll get $10 cashback. Make any purchase thereafter, and you’ll get $0 cashback. Title updated for clarity. Thank you :)

  • as my understand, I can buy as many transaction as I like until total amout of 15% cashback reach 25$ capped?

    • +1

That’s correct. Please see my comment above ^^

Any ideas what good items to get?

  • could i use EB game vouchers in the ebay EB games store? probably a silly question but i stacked all my market research vouchers in to EB games one to buy the Series X but then of course EB games website crashed and i missed out.

    • No; it's eBay … how are they going to accept EB gift cards?

      • lol was hoping more than anything… thanks

        • +2

May as well try using Monopoly money while you are at it :)

          • @solidice: great idea - i'll buy some on SB and get teh cash back and then use that through CR. legend

      • -2

        hi why Desktop only?

  • is there price jacking involved in this as well

    • +1

No, since there are no coupons to apply to selected sellers. This is a site wide thing, so there is no reason for sellers to price jack.

  • +2

Maximum cash back at $166.67 purchase
Anything over $250 you're better off with Shopback :)

    • -2

Shopback just be aware that no Cashback if paid by gift cards.

      • it wasn't mentioned explicitly i believe

  • Is it just me or the cashrewards link is not working (getting a 404)?

    • Just you.

  • way to kick a guy when he's down. oh wait, they leaked all our data.

    FINISH HIM!

  • Does anyone know if you can get car parts through this?

  • +2

Will i still be qualified for cashback if i made a lower offer and was accepted by the seller?

Quite a few sellers normally accept lower offers when they enable this selling feature

    • I want to know as well!

    • Store Rep or Tightarse can confirm this "Make Offer" type purchase?

      • +1

Hi. Provided you make the offer, accept the offer, and purchase within the same session after clicking from Cashrewards it will be work. You must not click away to other links/sites etc in between or the cookie will be lost.

        • +4

What if you made the offer beforehand or in a separate session, then you click from CR after the offer has been accepted and pay in that session?

  • +2

    Awesome deal, thanks TA

  • better deal since ebay doesn't offer any 10% discount anymore

  • +2
  • +12

To all those that closed your accounts with SB; if they go out of business, then you won't be seeing too many of these specials after CR lists.

Here's to continued strong competition in the cashback space (which increases the market size for all the players, and provides good incentives for consumers, especially savvy OZBers).

    • -3

I'll have to come back to this comment to say you're wrong if they continue to have these deals after listing 😂

      • +1

(didnt neg) why wouldnt they? haha

        • -2

Exactly. Why would they go against their own business model? Why would a cashback site cease to offer cashback because they listed. It's delusional thinking.

Do they not understand how affiliate marketing actually works? How incentives are funded and so forth?

          • +1

@Clear: Clearly that's a "no we don't understand affiliate marketing" then.

            • +1

@Clear: The point is there's a sweet spot % paid with competition and without competition. I bet (without doing any research) that it's less without competition.

              • @ihbh: That is correct and it's an area I've worked in 😉 I seriously doubt that will change when you become listed.

Does the ebay plus sign up voucher invalidate cashback?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/567358

    • I have the same question.

    • +1

Yes, the eBay Plus signup voucher will invalidate cashback as it is considered a promo code.

  • +1

Bruh, I just bought stuff yesterday….

  • Hi TA

Thanks for sharing and this has triggered a purchase which otherwise I would not have made.

I followed the instructions and clicked through from CR to eBay on my desktop and made a single item purchase for $179.85 (very close to the most effective amount)!

'My Click History' shows that I visited but nothing is appearing under 'My Rewards' yet. What is the typical time for the reward to appear (is it really at least 4 days??)

    Many thanks

    • +2

ebay purchase takes 1-2 days to track for me

    • +3

Up to 4 days until it shows up in your account I believe.

      • +3

Thanks for the validation guys. I was getting worried.

        • Sigh. Me too.

  • +1

Was going to refer a friend to join Cashrewards as he had a ssd to buy but seems the refer-a-friend page is not working for me?

    • There’s an issue with refer-a-friend that the tech team is investigating right now. Will update you as soon as it’s back up :)

    • For me seems broken in the app, but working in browser.

      • +1

Thanks for reminding me there is an app, it works in the app for me but not working in the browser for me

        • 🤷‍♂️😂

        • App is so good, works flawlessly

  • +1

Wouldn't SB current offer is better for small purchase ?

  • +4

Well if the site actually track it, had non track last month

    • tracks pretty bad, would rather have instant notif

  • +2

    What about Coles ebay?

    • I think Coles eBay purchases would be eligible as long as no promo codes are used. Can be paid using GC. I would love to get other opinions.

  • What useless toy to buy?

  • Done, thanks OP. Great deal.

  • Shopback move yo ass!

  • +3

cashback on eBay AU is available only when shopping via a desktop browser. Cashback is ineligible if shopping via the mobile site, the Cashrewards app, or the eBay app

    This restriction is a deal-breaker.

I have found the Cashrewards & Shopback apps to be the only guaranteed way to get my cashbacks to track.

Don't want to spend money & then find my cashback hasn't tracked and is denied.

    • Sounds like a good excuse to buy a new desktop PC or Mac.

Jokes aside, you can report missing transactions to Cashrewards.

    • Apparently you can try desktop version on your phone or tablet browser?

      • SB works on mobile; why CR desktop only???

  • +6

Lots more votes for CR than SB eBay deal, seems more prefer tightarse’s to the other whose had a significant penetration via their backdoor.

    • +1

Thank you. Your innuendo has made my day.

      • +1

rep should change name to Gotyoubareback

Has anyone had their cashback recorded yet? Purchased something at 9:30 nothing yet

    • +3

FFS, don’t you read the Terms and conditions?

      • +2

it just says may take up to 4 days, ive had it tracked fast before just asking mate

  • +1

hi op, if the CR acc eligible for $20 cashback min spent $20 become double cashback???

    cheers.

    • +1

      Answered here :)

  • Hi TA,

Your post says that gift cards are not eligible, but the Cashrewards page says "Cashback is eligible on purchases paid with gift cards."

Are you able to confirm if cashback will be tracked for the full amount if paid with an eBay gift card?

    Thanks

    • +3

Please read the OP again :)

      • Cashback is eligible on purchases paid with gift cards.
      • Cashback is ineligible on purchase of gift cards.
      • +1

        Hi TA,

Sorry - Thanks for clarification. I misread that.

        Cheers!

  • Why desktop only, obviously the browser doesn't track as good as the mobile app…

  • 15%? What's the catch? Ah, nvm. The cap.

  • Why desktop only? So on a phone is fine they mean just no using the heat app right? Don’t they know most people using phones now days?

  • I just bought something and the seller cancelled right after. I know it says cashback will be declined for cancelled orders but can I still get the full $25 cashback now for other things I buy?

  • If I purchase something shipped from overseas, then am I correct in thinking that the 15% cashback does NOT apply on the shipping fee nor the GST?

    • +1

      Correct.
Only the cost of the item.

You may not earn Cashback on GST, freight, delivery fees and taxes.

  • Can you get cashback on car parts?

    • I just got a boot liner from a car dealership tracked, so it looks like car parts are eligible
