  • sorry, we are unable to process your request. when using g2a code, just bought it. how long do we have to wait until it becomes valid? any other tips?

    • Yeah having trouble here, I don't know exactly when my plan expired but I get non-stop errors when trying to update my plan. Billing details were already on file, even restarted membership in AUD, cancelled then tried again on VPN - no luck.

I will try again later tonight I guess.

    • Try again later. Ensure that VPN works.

      • yeah i am getting Turkish prices, so i assume the vpn is working?

i never got a phone number request - just email, enter password, click gift, enter code

        • Tried on your phone instead?

I wasn't getting anywhere until I got on live chat, removed my CC from account (it wouldn't give me the gift card option otherwise), then turned on VPN on phone, went through the 'Restart membership' steps in the app, filled in the gift card info and it went through straight away.

Will try to add CC back in later, least I've got a couple months to keep me going.

          • @fLaMePrO: I got it working on the phone too

            • @Amaris: You got working through netflix app on the phone or netflix web site on the phone?

              • +1

@surm: Netflix app on ios doesn't allow sign-ups. I used Chrome for ios

            • @Amaris: What credit/debit card did you use? I can't get it working anywhere. I've got two cards issued by my bank (Westpac), and also transferwise card that I've added a Turkish address to, and none of the methods work for me.

Through a web browser, I get asked for a Turkish phone number for SMS verification at the last step when trying with a new account. Current account, I get nowhere.

I think I will buy a gift card tonight to try and reactivate my current account with that.

  • +1

Have given up to switching to Turkey. I am sticking with argentina…

    • It's not that hard. What's the problem when u try the steps?

      • Kept getting issue with credit card not being accepted - I have NAB.

        What steps did you follow?

        • You can try signing up for an Australian package first. Then contact support to cancel and refund.

Now the card has already been stored in your account, turn on VPN and sign up for the Turkish one.

          • @hawkeye93: Instead of cancelling and asking for a refund, can we simply cancel and then wait for the subscription to expire after a month, and try with the VPN method?

            • @surm: Is it your current account or a new one? If it’s the former then after signing up, you have to ask them to cancel and refund because you would be charged immediately (not trial subscription).

              • @hawkeye93: My current one. I cancelled it and after the billing month finished, my subscription expired, however, they still had details of my 28 degrees credit card. After that, I turned on Hola VPN and it showed me Turkey prices and when I tried to renew subscription with Turkey prices, the payment would not complete. I got the same error as everyone else did ("There appears to be a problem with your payment method"). Then I tried with Bankwest, ING Debit card, TransferWise debit card but all of them failed with the same error.

Then I visited Netflix without VPN and was able to use TransferWise card to renew as if an Australian subscription.

So, my credit cards would not work for Turkey subscriptions but good for Aus netflix subscriptions.

                • @surm: Did you try the above method for argentina?

                  • @kgree92: No, I only tried for Turkey. Now waiting for 3 weeks for my Aus subscription to expire, to try again

                    • @surm: You could cancel and try asking for an immediate refund? Also, have you set a Turkish address for your Transferwise card? When you cancel, you should try changing it to a Turkish address before re-doing the payment, as the live chat people kept asking me if the credit card/debit card I am using is issued in the same country as the Netflix account I am trying to sign up to. I never answered that question when they kept asking.

                • @surm: Exactly the same thing happened to me "There appears to be a problem with your payment method". I can't even restart my current account as an Australian one. I wonder if that is because it was started as an Argentinian account?

Do you guys think the live chat people see/check that my last 11 months billing was with Argentine currency?

                  • @Ice009: Get them to remove your current billing method. That's the only way it worked for me.

Only then was I able to add my gift card. I have a feeling I won't be able to re-add my CC after that but I will try via the support method (secure form) as others have mentioned.

                    • @fLaMePrO: I got the gift card the other day, but I haven't applied it yet as I don't have time to watch anything, so I will just wait a day or two more for when I have time to actually start watching some Netflix before I use the gift card.

So after I apply the gift card, when should I try and add credit card details back in via secure form? Straight away, or wait a few days? I will try adding the Transferwise debit card.

I also already have my Australian phone number saved/verified in my account. Not sure if I should remove that or leave it?

Thanks for the reply/help. I appreciate everyone's help around here. You've all been so great and helpful with your suggestions, so just wanted to say thanks to everyone that has tried to help us all out.

                      • @Ice009: Not sure about that part, I haven't tried to re-add my CC yet (as the gift card will last me a few months). I'll try when I can be bothered.

I just left my phone number on there so you should be able to do the same.

                      • @Ice009: have you added the transferwise card to your account?
Received my card and chat to the support. they sent me the secure form via email which shows 'update payment method' then when entering in my transferwise details i'm getting the error "There appears to be a problem with your payment method".
It's a new account activated with turkey gift card.
Can't seem to add the transferwise card.
Can someone confirm the secure form is the one they send via email and not a live form where it pops up while in chat?
Also anyone having luck adding the transferwise card while on the giftcard method?
                        TIA.

          • @hawkeye93: I tried this, last step after signing up for the Turkish Netflix, was that they wanted to verify my credit card details on file, this is where it failed, even though they were already there.

    • I know, have been struggling since last 3 days.
Earlier I was with Argentina and now trying to migrate to Turkey one with Australian CC.
There appears to be a problem with your payment method
      i. Tried all kind of credit/debit/gift cards
ii. Tried creating a new account
Netflix representative saying that my cards are getting declined from the bank which I find hard to believe.

Done now!! using Netflix Gift Card purchased from G2A

      • Some people have report that they had luck with chatting to netflix and ggetting them to send you a secure form to enter credit card details

        • They wouldn't give me a secure form. Kept telling me I had to restart the account. I asked about 3 - 5 times with different chat people and none of them would give me a secure form.

One told me that I have to wait 12 hours before trying again as apparently there is a limit to how many times you can try the same card or something.

  • I got this working today.
    The steps I did was:
    1. cancel my existing Australian Netflix once expired
    2. Setup a transferwise account putting $20AUD create credit card, billing address set to turkey once my card was ordered and set for Australian delivery.
    3. Re-subscribe to Netflix AU pay using transferwise card.
    4. Immediately cancel via Netflix chat get refund
    5. Use windscribe VPN set to turkey subscribe using transferwise card already in Netflix history.
    All working and completed

    • When you chat to cancel the subscription, did they ask why that you were immediately cancelling and asking for a refund?

      • They didn't ask, I said that I wasn't able to commit to a monthly fee and I should have considered the commitment properly before applying.

    • I tried this, but it doesn't work for me with my Transferwise card. I put in a Turkish address, but for some reason, I can't even restart it as an Australian account with it and the address set to my Australian one. I wonder if it's because my account was originally opened up as an Argentinian one?

Also, when you asked to cancel via Netflix chat, did they ask why? I assume no money was taken out of the Transferwise account, or was there? If so, how instant was the refund?

      • I'm not sure, I have only had an Australian account previously. They did not ask why I said I had to cancel as I wasn't able to commit at the time. Money was taken out of my account however received an email back from netflix advising it is been refunded. still awaiting it to show in Transferwise. I was told it could take a few days.

  • I was able to transfer from Argentina to Turkey today really easily. I just cancelled and let the month play out, then when logging into Netflix it asked me to restart my membership.

Initially when using PIA VPN it was showing EUR prices, but I signed up to Windscribe (free account connecting to Istanbul) and then I reopened the app and it was showing Turkish Lira, clicked next and the account was working, my UP card was charged. Didn't need to buy gift cards or contact support.

If you have saved billing details, try this before removing it.

    • Depends on the bank. Some go through, some don’t.

  • Tried with Citibank Debit, didn't work
"There appears to be a problem with the payment method you are trying to use."

Just moved from Argentina to Turkey successfully.
After trawling through the comments, I combined that knowledge took necessary steps prior to switching.

Here are the steps I took if you're looking to switch too.

    VPN: Windscribe (Istanbul – Ataturk)
    Device: iPhone
    Payment: TransferWise Debit Card
    Billing Date: 17 Nov

    [Pre-transfer]
    1. About a week before the transfer, I switched the pre-saved Up bank card out to the TransferWise debit card.
    2. I noticed a charge (16.4 ARS) with a status of 'Declined'. Contacted both TransferWise and Netflix and from what I gathered, it seemed like a card check.
    3. The account already had my Australian number saved (ported from AU to Argentina previously).
    4. About 3 days before the billing date, I cancelled the Netflix sub and left it as that.

At this stage, TransferWise card saved, along with AU Phone number. Ensure that you have enough balance in your TransferWise account.

    [Transfer]
    5. About 2 days after the billing date, I connected to the Windscribe VPN (via the app) and did an IP check.
    6. Launched the Netflix app and seems like my profiles and shows where there (this step is totally unnecessary and may be skipped, I launched it out of curiosity).
    7. Went into my web browser (Safari) and headed to Netflix.com.
    8. Was prompted to Restart my Membership which I proceeded to click.
    9. I selected the Premium tier when prompted. (Prices were already shown in TRY).
    10. Card, along with my contact number, was already pre-saved so I did not need to bother with anything else.
    11. Proceeded to the last step which asked my to confirm my contact number, again, no intervention needed on my part.
    12. Was then charged 41.99 TRY (5.48 USD).
    13. Happy days.

Good luck, YMMV, and hope this helps someone out there.

    • I might add that the TransferWise account bears an Australian address and not a Turkish one.

      • Great job. It sucks that I can't go back in time and try your method with my Transferwise card. I followed most of your steps, but didn't have a Transferwise card at the time, so it seems it was simply my debit and credit cards were rejected for some reason.

Speaking of Transferwise card, I still haven't received mine. It was supposed to arrive November 9th. How long should it take to get the physical card so that I can activate it?

It did say you can still use the number online if you've added/started a balance on your Transferwise account (if I understood correctly), so I added about $30 to my account to try and get started with a Netflix Turkish sub, but it just won't work for me even with the Transferwise card.

        • I got my card months ago and can’t quite recall how long it took. Might want to check in with the TransferWise team? Good luck!

          • @settings: Thanks for the reply. I want to contact them/send them a message to ask, but can't seem to find where. Have you spoken to them before? I can't see a live chat or contact us page.

            • @Ice009: They must have hidden it.

But you can access that here transferwise.com/help/contact.
You might need to be logged in.

Edit: There even is a number you could dial to have a chat with someone. Might be quicker to resolve your issue. Good luck!

  • Is it possible to pay with palpay to utilise this deal or must be a credit card only?

    • netflix doesnt take paypal, but some of the Turkey Netflix gift card sellers do…
so there is a way (though with a ~10% premium on gift cards, which is still way under what local $ would be)

  • Buy Netflix Gift Card 100 TL at https://www.g2a.com/netflix-gift-card-100-tl-turkey-i1000000… and redeem. While redeeming change your country to Turkey. This is costlier than using Credit card but this is viable method for those don't have workable credit cards and to skip one time code verification.

    • Still much cheaper than Australia subscription. Anyway, you can update the card via chat so they will send a secured form to enter the card details.

      • this secure form, is this via email that says 'enter payment details' and direct your to your account page where you enter your credit card details?
Have already signed up using the giftcard method and contacted chat support as well for the secure form to enter my credit card.
Received my transferwise card today and activated it, tried entering it in and getting the "There appears to be a problem with your payment method".

This is a new account as my current one with 28 degrees won't work.
Address in billing for transfer wise was an Australian one, didn't work so changed to Turkey, still doesnt work.

        Any ideas?
        TIA

        • Secured form via live chat. My Citibank card didn’t work the 1st time for security reason but after confirming via text with the bank, it went through. You may try again later.

          • @hawkeye93: so the secure form via live chat pops up while you're chatting to the support?
Because i asked for the secure form and was sent an email to update my payment details.
So i assume what was sent wasn't the secure form?

    • Does this get around the verification method via phone?

      • yes

  • So I tried to get the plan via Turkey, no luck, couldn't get pass the verify phone page. So ended up going with Argentina instead. I checked my CC and it charged me $8ish is that normal? I was expect $5ish for the standard plan.

    • Just cancelled my membership and got a refund processed via the chat. Going to wait a day or two and try my luck again with the Turkey server.

      • did u successfully?

        • So far unsuccessful. Getting an error message saying "Sorry, but something went wrong. Please try again later." when I try confirm the subscription package.

I called my bank they assured me nothing is wrong on their end for the card and it's definitely NF. Went to NF live chat and they said it's definitely the bank and not them. I even tried to pay via normal Aust prices and the error still comes up. So I ended up asking them to remove my card from my account and I've been trying every few hours since to get the subscription to work.

Going to try for a few more days and if it still doesn't work I'm just going to give up.

          • +1

            @QuintessentiaLs:

Going to try for a few more days and if it still doesn't work I'm just going to give up.

just buy Turkey Netflix gift cards…
its not really that much more and for those whose cards/accounts wont work on turkey, is a no fuss option

            • @SBOB: I ended up setting up a new account with this. Seems using a card is just too difficult now

            • @SBOB: Okay I got fed up with trying to add my CC onto my existing account I caved and bought a NF gift voucher.

So as per above post by me, after trying everything and foolishly removing my CC from my acc via live chat. I ended up buying a gift card from g2a and used that instead and it worked. (after a few attempts as the gotcha select picture security thingy didn't pop up the first few try's).

Connected via Windscribe after logging in normally and at the select plan page (otherwise might not work or super slow), entered the gift card code and proceeded. It then went to the mobile phone authorisation page, it didn't work when still connected to Turkey so I disconnected and did everything else normally via Aust connection and everything went through.

Checked my account, saw my TL credit is until April. Went to Live Chat to re add my CC to my account. First person said can only do it via a link from email. So I tried again with another person, 2nd person knew they were doing and gave me a secure form to do right away.

Checked my account and the card info is in so hopefully by April/May it'll charge my credit card and I'm good to go from then onwards. Thing is my credit card expires at the end on 2021 so I hope I can add the replacement one myself. If not I guess I'll just use the secure form method again.

  • My Australian month just expired today and I switched to Turkey using my existing UBank Visa Debit card.

I signed into Netflix without a VPN until it showed Australian renewal prices and then switched on the Turkey Windscribe VPN and clicked Premium $19.95 Australian and the next page was 42 TRY Turkey price confirmation page.

    • +2

Yes seems like they are blocking sign-ins on some turkey VPNs. Your method works where sign in without VPN, then turn it on. If it's showing AUD prices, just change the URL link above from =AU to =TR or don't bother and click continue where it'll show Turkish prices anyway.

  • Worked fine by switching from Argentina to Turkey. Already had my transfer wise card and Australia phone linked. So it was a smooth process. Used Windscribe Ataturk VPN through laptop. Windscribe VPN through mobile was very slow.

  • I am using TorGuard and can't get the currency to show in Turkey TR, it only shows in Euros, anyone know how to get around this?

I am on the plan page not connected to a VPN , connect to Turkey VPN and then select Premium, payment page shows $11.99 Euros. I also tried disonncecting and reconnecting on the payment page, again, only displays in Euros.

    Any assistance appreciated, thanks

    • Different vpn….

      • ahh ok. I tried Safe VPN but that doesn't have Turkey haha, not having much luck

        • free trial of windscribe works

        • or free trial of WorldVPN works fine too - but WindScribe has a nicer interface.

          • @illumination: Windscribe worked however got stuck with the turkey number text message verification. I tried connecting to the vpn at the credit card section and it changed the price but it would not process the payment said there was something wrong - I’m guessing my ANZ card doesn’t work for it.

Only thing I can think of is the gift card option which is about $20-22 for 100 TL - basically 2 1/2 months so still good for premium ( would cost $50 Aus for the equivalent

  • I have successfully set up turkey NF with new account and with gift card method. No payment card attached to date (since it was a new account created for this hack. Not lapsed existing account). I'm good till January 2021.
What happened after that? Should I reload with gift card method again? Or is there a way to register a payment card (debit or credit) for direct debit?
    Thank you.

    • For the price difference and hassle, I've just loaded up a bunch of gift cards.
The difference isnt that much and its 100% working solution :)

      • True I'm right till 25 May 2021. I just keep an eye on the exchange rate. So far it has averaged out approximately to AUD $7.50 a month for
Premium Ultra HD. Picked up gift cards around $18/19 for Netflix Gift Card 100 TL TR

        • Picked up gift cards around $18/19 for Netflix Gift Card 100 TL TR

not bad, mine averaged just over $20

          • @SBOB: Rate has increased to $20-22 lately. Still much better than signing up Australian account.

        • Where do you buy your gift card from?

          • @TomGum: Turgame is where I got mine.
            Also g2a is an option.

  • If I use the gift card option(https://www.g2a.com/netflix-gift-card-100-tl-turkey-i1000000…), can I use it on my current account without creating a new one?

    • +1

Yes. You can use it to register for the Turkey subscription on your current account.

      • Just to be sure does this mean I can change my payment options on my current australia subscribed account - so I just connect to a turkey vpn and then change payment method from direct debit to gift card?

Ignore this just read the other post from SBOB

    • +1

if you're already a turkey member, yes
if you arent and have a card on file and trying to transfer to turkey, no.. you need to message support and have them remove the card from file so you can resign up with a gift card.

Took about 10mins for me on their online chat to get it done last month

Also Turgame might be a dollar or so cheaper for the same card

      • This sounds good , probably a better option than signing up for a new account

      • Do you know what happens if I already have credit on my account (from purchasing the Google TV + Netflix bundle). Does it interfere with the top up from the gift card?

        • +1

You would need to use up the credit and wait for the account to expire before you can move to another country anyway

  • Anyone manage to get a Bankwest Zero Mastercard to work with this deal?

  • Do you have to use a VPN to redeem the Turkish gift card from G2A? That one has a disclaimer that you can't redeem in Australia, but other sites such as Turgame do not have this disclaimer.

Asking because pricewise, G2A is cheaper

    • yes, you need to be 'in turkey' to log into netflix to claim a turkey gift card

  • i have a bit of an issue the needing a turkey mobile number what i've done so far

    1. Cancelled subscription let it lapse
    2. Signed in via VPN HMA
    3. Tried with a peoples choice card get to the needing to verify mobile turkish +90
    4. Hard support remove my existing credit card
    5. Tried again no luck same thing

Anyone had any luck with the gift card working without needing to do a verification of the number? I've tried ignoring the number verification via another tab and no luck.

Tried getting turkey netflix giftcard from g2a no luck transaction declined for some reason moneys in the bank so nfi

    • I had success with the below
      1) Paid with TransferWise debit card for an Aus netflix subscription. Netflix has my Aus mobile number.
      2) Cancelled the subscription and let it expire after a month.
      3) Log in to Netflix with VPN and renew. At this time my credit card and phone number is already saved in netflix
      4) I used Hola vpn free plugin for Firefox
      5) It failed during the first attempt and successful at the second attempt

Here's my experience: Its a bit off the track but worked for me.

I was very very lazy as I already use Tunnel Bear ( free ) for my VPN. It supports Brazil but doesn't support Turkey so I decided to try Brazil. The Turkish currency is a basket case anyway so hopefully Brazil will be better longer term and I won't have to change again even if its $2 more than Turkey! ;-)

I let my Australian Netflix subscription expire for 24 hours.

I tried to use the Netflix App on my Android phone to re-subscribe using Tunnel Bear VPN to Brazil with GPS turned off. It came up in Brazilian currency but when i selected the standard plan and accepted the free upgrade to 4K (I don't have a 4k TV) it came back with a processing error . I didn't change my ANZ credit card details or mobile number.

I then went to my laptop chrome browser in incognito mode to the brazilian netflix website while using Tunnel Bear VPN. I said I forgot my password ( as I had ) , it sent a text to my Australian mobile from Brazil and I changed my password.
Then I went to my account page to add a Plan. I selected the Standard Plan 32.90BRL and kept my existing ANZ credit card, got a processing error.

So I added my British Transferwise debit card details and it accepted it ! It didn't ask for my new address. 32.90BRL = USD $6.47 charged to my Transferwise card

Maybe it would have worked with Windscribe to Turkey but I'm not wasting more time to save $25 per year or maybe it will be $10 or $35 with the Turkish Lira !

    • What did you mean by "British TransferWise" card?

      • I used a Transferwise debit card that was issued by Transferwise UK , using a UK address.

  • I ended up renewing my account with a Turkish gift card. For whatever reason, the Transferwise card will not work. I just tried again today after leaving it for a few weeks, but still no-go. I am stumped why the Transferwise card is working for some of you guys and not working for others.

  • Cannot get this to work.

The account has all my updated info (28 Degrees credit card and mobile), but it has a "problem" with the payment method when trying to restart the membership via Turkey.

  • Can someone please help me. I've read through all 7 pages but am just confused. I'm wanting to ideally set up Netflix through Turkey on their top plan.

    • my current Australian Netflix account i have cancelled and expires 11.59pm on 26 December. They won't pro rata refund me as the expiry is so close.

    • i dont have any saved card details in my account as I have been paying through PayPal as my payment method

    • my card is a cba debit card.

How do I go about setting this up please?

Do I on the 28th (as I've read to leabe atleasr 1 day) sign up for the free vpn with Turkey as an option, and then try signing up using my current (will be) expired account? Happy to pay with a gift card it will still be a lot cheaper than paying in $AU

Am I going to need to go through phone number verification etc too?

    Thanks for your help

  • My main account I was able to do this in 5 minutes about two years ago, currently billed to Starling card with no problems.

I have been trying to change my friend's account for them for three days now to go from Australia to Turkey, Netflix is no longer messing around.

Nordvpn not working for Turkey or Argentina.
    ExpressVpn only works for Argentina
Windscribe free only works for Turkey

Tried 28 degrees, Citibank Debit, Starling, and Transferwise U.K.

Transferwise U.K is the only one it accepts but gets stuck at sms confirmation.
Signed up for Turkey 5Sim, did not receive sms from Netflix, timed out after 15 mins.

Chat with Netflix to remove saved 28 degress card.
Tried Turkey Netflix gift cards from both g2a and Turgame. Both gift card codes not accepted by Netflix, screen just freezes after I enter cards, spinning wheel that goes nowhere.
Tried going to account screen and redeeming gift card that way, both codes say invalid.

Also tried brand new account with all same steps above. Using safari browser in private mode.

Anybody have any suggestions? Never thought this was going to be this difficult.

    • Finally got it working. Either Windscribe VPN or safari was blocking recaptcha popup from loading after entering gift card code. Very strange because other recaptcha popups were working fine with windscribe and safari combo.

Finally used Hola Chrome extension on Chrome private tab set to Turkey. Accepted both gift cards no problem and did not ask for SMS verification.

So long story short use Hola then uninstall when done unless you want to give them all your web history. Both paid Nord VPN and Express Vpn were useless for this, go figure.

  • isnt Argentina cheaper now?

    • Argentina tax % makes it more expensive

  • Has anyone subscribed to Disney+ using a similar method? I used Tunnel Bear VPN to have a look at Argentina. It came up in the correct ARS currency on the first page to join but when clicking through after adding your email address it pops up with Columbian currency (COP) and a Columbian Disney registered webpage. I checked and my IP is Argentinian. Columbia is more expensive than Australia at present so no point .lol.

  • Dammit having issues with Turkey on Windscribe VPN (old card expired)

Might have to try in the morning as I now can't even sign up to an Aussie account!

  • Just wanting to confirm. Do I need to log back into Netflix via VPN to Turkey when adding more gift cards to extend my access?
Or can I just be logged in without VPN and add the cards?

    Cheers.

    • +1

Need to be logged in via vpn when redeeming gift cards
