In my experience, Bluetooth is getting vastly better with every version, the latest is 5.2 (this soundbar uses 5.0). The difference between 4.2 and 5.0 is very apparent on some media, and range is improved as well:

No remote such a bummer
I agree I have earlier model with no remote which cause problem when spidf is fixed level.
Bluetooth ok when level can be controlled by the source
So yes you do need one with remote if use spdif

Great basic SoundBar… especially for the price but definitely not for everyone due to the lack of HDMI and/or Optical inputs. I set one up for my Dad a few months ago and yeah it's fit for purpose but I'm torn about giving this a greenie purely based on how limited it is for most peoples needs :(

Ooo I just checked and it’s not bad. Got all the bells and whistles, also 40W which is 10W more than this xiaomi one..now I can’t decide which one to get for my 55” tv..

The EKO soundbar is $69 this week, catalogue special. You will not be disappointed. We have ours mounted to the bed frame and Bluetooth music to it all the time.
too late :( it feels like something retailing at $70 wont beat the xiaomi… might get another one for my pc tho!
That looks like a good deal — ticks the boxes, but it the sound quality at the same level ?
$69 EKO soundbar will do the trick, I also use a $300 LG soundbar myself so I'll never experience the TV speakers.

For a 2.0 system with 4 little speakers the best you could possibly hope for without a dedicated sub or side facing sub speakers like on some bars. Stick the EKO in movie mode on the remote for maximum bass / treble.

@Scythic: In music mode you can up treble and base independently. It's hard without a screen but you can feel for what you like and leave it on that.
any reviews on this? Lack of hdmi input is a bit of let down as this is the easiest way to connect a TV.
