I would beg to differ, anything that cheap is cheaply manufactured and will wear and tear quicker than something that is four times the price.

This may be true for a some, but it's not hard to do research on whatever you're thinking about buying to see if the quality matches up with the price.
That doesn't take into account design work and patents. The Oxo stuff is always ridiculously better, plus unknown brands pay a fortune just to get into stores so often it will be 4x the price to manufacture.

Oxo makes some good stuff. Their garlic press is the best I've ever used and will probably never buy another one. Still shipping kills this deal somewhat.
I agree their garlic press is amazing. However their kitchen shears went blunt in less than a year for me.

For those whinging about the price might not have used a decent set of tongs. My 2 sets of Oxo tongs must be 15 years now. Lock mechanism works like day one. It is very annoying when these fail on cheaper made utensils

These look like a pair I used to have that were ok until the closing mechanism stopped working and the rubber pads came loose.
I have a pair of all stainless steel ones which are ok but the parts that grip the good are quite flimsy and over time tend to bend easily. Have some small tongs from ALDI that are the same.
I have a pair of tongs that look like the OXO ones but have silicon tips and they are great, never bend, because the for getting parts are curved inwards rather than flat. Wish I could find them again.
GG have them for ~ $16.95 unless you're talking about something different.
Maybe they're ditching these to just stock the ones with silicon tips??

I got an email from ebay asking me to review the product. That was the last straw, and I cancelled order, along with a rant of how they can charge such a high postage cost.
