Bose disproved that and said it was down to warn out or incorrectly attached ear cups…
Had a look at the crazy 2000+ post thread on the Bose forums that led up to that. Funny thing is despite all the adamance or even obsession about the issue in some cases, Bose claim to have had trouble getting more than ten people who purportedly experienced it to participate in the 3rd party testing.
Was that a fact?
I have these and bought my wife some XM3s last year.
my 2c (audio is personal) the XM3s have better sound for everything but acoustic type music and way better noise cancelling but my ears always overheat with the xm3s.
Bose is way more comfortable. The firmware update didn't really affect me but I now know to never firmware update until 6 months after incase it gets bricked.
I found incredible how these are holding their price. Pay a bit less an year ago!
Bose normally doesn’t break their prices … they take time… even with flaws
They don't sound as great as they did when I first got them about 3 years ago. The noise cancellation is still good but the sound quality has gotten worse.
