OK - pernickity bastard here (acknowledged) but: midnight is not 12am. Midnight is midnight. Noon is noon. They are neither am nor pm - by definition! AM = ante meridiem = before midday; PM = post meridiem = after midday. 11:59:59 is AM, 12:00:01 is PM. 23:59:59 is PM, and 00:00:01 is AM.
Got that off my chest. I feel better now. Back to normal programming.

I have a few definitive technology speakers and almost all playing up after a year - 6 out of 7. I won't be buying into that brand again. They are nice sounding. Have not had time to open them up to diagnosed it myself. Most likely the capacitor dying or dead.
Looks like OP has already diagnosed them anyway.
