Product Features:
The original Game & Watch system was released in Japan in 1980 and was the very first handheld gaming console created by Nintendo. Now you can get your hands on a piece of history with a brand new entry in the series - a special golden Game & Watch that includes the original Super Mario Bros., a digital clock and more!
Jump over bottomless pits, stomp Goombas and enter Warp Pipes just as you remember - but with even tighter controls thanks to the system's +Control Pad. Go it alone or pass to a friend for some two-player competition!
Looking for more of a challenge? Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels comes packed in, but if you're wanting a more casual experience, then Ball (with extra Super Mario flair!) should tickle that fancy.
As time passes, the included digital clock may play 35 different animations - including some guest appearances from Mario's friends and foes! Keep your eyes on the clock when saving Princess Peach isn't on the current agenda.

The only safe investment you can make in 2020.

You're kidding right? Those with money made a killing on the market. The property market, at least in Perth has skyrocketed over the last 3 months.

  • +14

I really hate scalpers buying things that are sold out and selling them on ebay for way more than RRP for a profit

    • +1

      If you can't beat 'em…??

      • +32

        …beat 'em up.

        • +3

          😁

        • beat 'em off?

    • +3

Why not make a stance at never to buy from those piggies again?

    • +6

      You surely mean 25 right?

I wonder if Big W will honour the maximum amount they allow, because there will definitely be someone who is doing it right now.

      Edit:

Damn, someone got one and only manged to get 24 to the cart.

      • What a f%#king pig!!! Hope he end up not able to sell any. He even got a couple of average games for $150!! Sadly there's idiots that helps scalpers continue to do these BS…..

    • Only 5?

  • +7

Request interview with person paying $200+ for this 2 months prior to release.

    Why?

  • +1

Thanks OP managed to get one, guessing this will be sold out in the next 20 minutes.

    • The only thing you can be certain of in 2020.

  • +12

Why wouldn't you get a 3DS over this?

    • +3

Why wouldn't you get a 3DS over this?

      Me right now: 🤦‍♂️

    • +3

Any deals on 3DS. I have been wanting one for a while.

      • Also looking for a deal on a New 3DS XL tbh

      • I got the 3DS XL for $99 during Amazon deal.
It may come back in the future.

        3DS is hack-able as well.

        • When was this…? I've not seen any new for sale for a while. Thanks.

      • What I've read suggests Nintendo did an aggressive 3ds selloff 6months before switch lite & hardly any stock has appeared anywhere in the US or here since then. Managed get a 2ds xl on sale at eb mid year but it was hard to get one & I don't think they have anymore. Both aren't been made anymore cause switch games are far more profitable for them. You're best bet would be to hope GameStop has some stock sitting somewhere they have forgotten about & it gets distributed after the 300-400 stores close worldwide (they operate in about 5 countries & are EBs parent company).

  • +8

Can't believe there isn't a limit on this

  • +1

Thanks for posting OP, was looking like I was missing out until your post.

  • +1

    Thanks grabbed one 👌

  • +2

Another full priced bargain and I still have to wait till November. No click and collect option. Thanks OP grabbed one. Seems to be the way at the moment if you want any of this stuff.

$200 is cheap. Who would actually pay that amount.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/124329327545

  • Super Mario 3D World for $69 is the best price at the moment as well!

    • +1

      $63.. from thegamesman ebay 👍

      • +2

Mario 3D allstars is $63 not Mario 3D world.

        • I ordered through the Amazon app and got $10 off for first purchase so only $59 with free delivery.

  • -3

Should I grab 10 so I can put in for a home deposit later?

    • -2

      Only 10? I ordered 9999999999

  • Any lack of stock is going to be very short term. These won't be worth more than low hundreds after release IMHO. Then when stock comes back in… blerp. You won't even get RRP.

Anyone paying $200 on ebay is a numpty.

    • +3

      Based on what? Your imagination?

      • -3

Yeah. It's supply and demand. I think Nintendo is going to keep the supply rather high until March. Only very short term is there going to be supply shortages.

AFTER March, they will be worth in the hundreds.

        • They have a mixed history. The NES Classic was hard to come by for ages, as has the Switch fitness game. SNES Classic was plentiful on the other hand.

    • +3

Sorry mate, but already confirmed to be super limited.

      Good luck with that!

  • +2

I wonder if these will all be fulfilled.

    • Surely they have a stock limit given the other retailers sold through all their stock in under a day. EB Games especially would be the ones with the most stock you would think.

  • +2

    FOMO made me do it!!!!

  • I predict sold out in a few minutes maybe seconds

    • Its already been 21 minutes.

      • He's got one minute left to be proven right, give him a chance!

        • +2

          I'm right it's gone

          • @CheapOjoe: Oh, you meant from your comment.
Well good call! I just slipped in.

    • Pretty close. Was gone in 4 minutes from your post.

  • These will be like the animal crossing switches.. lucky to get 1.5x your money for them.

    They're selling for about $630.

These game and watches also won't be a collectable due to reproduction.

    • Animal crossing switches are special edition, not limited

      • Look I get it, the scalpers are clever. They're using shill accounts to buy these game and watches at artificial inflated prices to create a market. It makes it look like they're actually selling them!
Until the shill accounts don't actually pay for them and they relist the item.

Original Donkey Kong Game and Watches aren't even worth $200+..

These aren't even worth $100 as yet.

        • +1

Yeah, it could be the case they are buying their own listing. I was extremely happy when I saw listings for ringfit fail to sell on ebay and marketplace when scalpers were reselling them at ridiculous prices.

        • Wouldn't they incur fees?

          • +4

@PorkHunt: I'm not a pro at it, but I believe if you make an offer through eBay, then they accept it, you've agreed to then buy the item. It then goes into "sold status" despite no one paying for the item yet. The seller can then relist the item if it's not paid for.

No actually one will have bought these for $300 on eBay when retail stores are still listing them.

No one is really buying anything on eBay, it's just scalpers setting the aftermarket price.

          • @PorkHunt: I was once unknowingly bidding with their other account. Wasn't until I lost, got a buyer failed pay & offer to purchase that I looked at the listing closely & realised.

        • Original Donkey Kong Game and Watches aren't even worth $200

Yeah but that junk is black and white and and has no warranty :p

      • This, they are special eds. It even says so on the damn box. Im waiting for shipment #3. I did snag one of these units from the Amazon 70 pre sale though. TBH I think this will be a hot item but nowhere near the realms of the NES mini (that was just farken nuts).

Anways lets see what eventuates, lockdown may cause the value to skyrocket given everyone in Melbourne has cabin fever atm.

    • It's a 35th anniversary product, a similar thing happened with the physical release of New Super Luigi U to celebrate the year of Luigi.

      • Is that game considered rare now? I got it for $10 in this Good Guys sale way back in 2013 - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/123352

        • +2

Seems to be worth $40-60 on eBay when bundled with New Super Mario U in the same disc but for some reason the standalone is being listed by people for $100.

Who out there is paying more for less content?

  • +1

    Ordered. Thanks OP.

  • +1

Think Big W didn't set an accurate limit, would've expected it to be sold out by now

    • Its all gone.

    • There might be emails with out of stock can't be forfilled going out soon.

    • was 20

  • +3

Thanks OP, refinanced my mortgage and bought out the entire stock

  • Still available.. wondering if there will be cancellations..
Edit: spoke too soon …all gone now..

    • Nah the pre-order is 'greyed' (lighter orange) out

  • As an 80s child I want this so bad. My wife disapproves.

    • Plenty of scalpers happy to sell to you

  • +2

    OzBargained.

  • Annnnd it's gone

  • AAAAAND IT'S GONE!!

Anyone thinking there will be more stock available in the future, problably not. Since this was super limited.

These will go for more than $200 on Ebay.

    • +1

If the buyers can locate the item before the eBay item dispatches in November then the sellers will probably have lots of cancelled sales. Also, the current sellers are putting themselves at risk - https://www.ebay.com.au/help/policies/listing-policies/presa…

"Presale listings must guarantee that the item will be posted within 20 days of purchase"
"Activity that doesn't follow eBay policy could result in a range of actions including for example: administratively ending or cancelling listings, hiding or demoting all listings from search results, lowering seller rating, buying or selling restrictions, and account suspension. All fees paid or payable in relation to listings or accounts on which we take any action will not be refunded or otherwise credited to your account."

      • eBay could give a shit about enforcing their own rules, they won't do anything.
I reported a buyer who left me negative feedback for a $20 game i sold him - looked at his "feedback left for others" and he has left almost entirely negative feedback for all of his 70 or so purchases. He is absolutely, undoubtedly a lying, scamming piece of s**t.
They refused to do anything about it.
His account is still active 9 months later and every single feedback he has left has been negative since the one he left me.

        • My wife sells kids clothing and apparel on ebay and once had someone who was clearly disgruntled at her competitive pricing and purchased ALL of her stock (literally every single item), like thousands of dollars, never paid which tied up all the items on ebay until the transaction was cancelled and ebay refused to do anything about it in case it was a legitimate sale even though the buyer account was created the same day with 0 feedback, took 2 weeks to get ebay to untangle the mess.

I genuinely hate ebay and try to keep my ebay purchases to a minimum.

          • @bircoe: And the return initiated by buyer. Seller has to accept it and pay for return postage too lol.

  • I was right on the ball
    gg

  • Missed out while trying to pay :(

  • +1

Why do I have a feeling someone orderd 100 to himself/herself

    • I would hope bigw would be cancelling that BS

    • Broden will broden…

  • +2

so frustrating to think there wasn't a limit and some moron could have ordered to their hearts content with some of us missing out :(

  • +2

    Thanks OP!
Just grabbed one for myself and another for my bro 10 mins ago.
    Close call.

    • Read that as "one for myself and my 10 bros" lol

  • Pre-order button is disabled for me - sold out already ?

    • Sold out, sorry buddy. Hopefully most people here only bought 1 or 2 and not 10.

  • +1

Grabbed one before sold-out! Thanks OP!

    • All good, enjoy it! :)

  • +1

Big W should have put a limit one per costumer.

  • Sigh I missed it again :(

  • Pre-ordered it from EB when it was first announced, didn't even think it'd sell out so quickly. I still have two Game and Watch consoles from when I was a kid, Chef and Parachute. I used to have Fire as well and it was my favourite but it's long since been lost somewhere sadly.

    • Those were my favourites as well. Think my mum threw them out.

    • I have Greenhouse still. Clearly remember Oil Panic and orange version of Donkey Kong.

    • Only Game and Watch I had as a kid was the Zelda one, was kind of like a Nintendo DS with dual screens. Think you used the top screen for a boss fight? Logged probably 5-10hrs playing that thing. I did manage to beat it a couple of times but it was hard.

Just had a look on eBay and some jokers listing it for $200-300, surely nobody is gonna pay that for this trash haha. Could understand if it came with box & manual but they are trying to sell just the unit?

Also had a Tiger Street Fighter handheld but wasn't that great either, still played it a lot though.
