MSI B450I Gaming Plus AC AM4 Ryzen Mini-ITX Motherboard $199 (Was $229) Delivered @ Centrecom

370

Best price I have seen over the past few months.
Good mini itx am4 mobo that can supposedly overclock a ryzen 2700x well according to the vrm tier list. I'm running a ryzen 3600 on this mobo and I couldn't be happier.
Just a reminder that you need to update the bios for the 3000 series.

  • Just a reminder that you need to update the bios for the 3000 series.

Most after June or so last year should have at least initial 3000 series support.

  • Good buy considering I just bought a b550i for 360 :(

  • Is there any specific reason not buying a b550 for the same price?

    • itx boards always come at a premium

Check out this asrock b550i for 5 bucks more.

        • Anyone know the quality of this board? Very little reviews on it. Suitable for a mild OC on a R5 3600?

@caffeine69: According to the LTT Tier List, it's untested but expected to be borderline Tier C/D. They say that a 3600 can be run "maxed out" on a tier E board, so I think this one should be fine.

      1) Thats not itx formfactor
      2) ITX formfactors come at premium price
      3) The cheapest b550 itx you can get won’t be a match to the one posted by op as it’s the most basic chipset support.

      • I see. thanks.

    • The vrm on this should be much better so you can run and overclock much beefier CPUs. I'm pretty sure hardware unboxed were a bit disappointed with the vrms on the Asus board.

      • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUJgrtR40uk this guy prefers the asus one while testing with a 3950x

        • No idea what he is talking about, but at the start of the vid he says the msi has the best vrm, but then doesn't even test it and only the asus. The asus is also quite hard to find.

    • B550 aren't compatible with the APU's and B450 are from what I was reading recently as well.

  • Picked up this board as a "open box" from Mwave for $159 around the start of the year, it didn't need a BIOS update for a Ryzen 3 3200G.

Been great, the 3200G handles all the 1080p gaming I do and much easier to carry to LAN night, (Silverstone SG05) … pre-COVID at least 🙄

  • Hmm.. I wouldn't mind building a MicroServer with Mini ITX since HP don't make them anymore. I suppose even the lowest Ryzen will whip whatever was in those Microservers.

    • Gen10 plus is a thing just need them to come to Aus

  • Hmmm.. One thing I noticed about this board is that the M2 slot is under the motherboard rather than on top next to the PCI-E slot like other Mini ITX boards. Downside to this is that you need enough clearance between the motherboard and the case's base to stick a M2 stick with a heat sink on it. Might be ok to do a SATA based stick with no heatsink. But a faster NVME with large heatsink will be an issue or risk overheating.

  • I’ve been looking at the ASUS prime A320I-K, for a 2700X and 5700XT would that be ok?

    • for gaming, borderline OK if you got stock/downdraft cpu hsf cooler and good case airflow

    • I'm in the process of building at A320I-K with Ryzen 3600, and a GTX 1080.
      Hoping it works well!
