If you got prime, spend a bit more and get

    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07D7Q41PM/

12mb write vs 70 mb write.

    • +2

is megabits per seconds? damn thats slow…..

    • How does this compare to the Corsair GTX

      • +4

The Corsair one is in a league of its own.

    • +1

If you don't need the tiny size, better off getting the Samsung Bar 256gb for better heat dissipation, the regular usb size and full metal case acts as heatsink, and it's cheaper at $53. I have a 128gb Samsung Fit and it gets worryingly toasty.

    • Samsung Bar, also 300mb/s, $53

  • +6

Did they sort out the heating problem? I had a few burns with the previous ones…

    • +3

My one of these I got a few years ago got so hot in the back of my TV it fell apart!

      • +3

        need usb fan

    • +3

      need watercool?

    • Played hot potato in uni using it, told friend to catch.

  • +2

not only small, slow as well

  • +3

Nice, will lose it 10 mins after being taken out of the package

  • They get very hot very quickly.

    • Used in winter or server room only?

      • Reading is fine but if you ever write for more than 10 seconds it gets hot, very hot (almost burning), and throttles down. This is with the 32GB one.

  • So how many floppy disks can I fit onto this.

    • +1

That depends on how big your floppy is and if you have extended density. A typical man with 3.5 inch will fit around 182,128.64 (1.44MB) floppies on this.

    • -1

      Physically, ZERO.

How about, how many of these can fit into the space consumed by a floppy disk, how many GB would that be?

  • +2

died after 2 days.. these are garbage

  • HOT Deal!

  • any smaller ones on special?

    • any smaller in size would burn your house down, these are small and hot enough as is

  • +1

I thought mine was going to melt but it still is alive. Been 1 year and I still think it’s going to melt. LOL

  • I have a 64gb version, no heating issues with it, maybe due to higher capacity?
'Thanks annarchon, I'll have a look at the Samsung one.

  • +2

I bought one of these last year…. I wouldn't recommend one of these to anyone. The write speeds are absolutely horrendous! Lucky if I get 5MB/s write. AVOID!

    • 256gb @ 5mb/ps is my dream boo

  • These stumpy ones are good for certain uses e.g. in the back seat of a car. Longer ones may get knocked and put too much pressure on the socket.

    • +1

And for laptops for same reason. I am always concerned the regular profile ones will accidentally get snapped off hanging so foul out of mine.

  • Now $42.50 for those subscribed.
