Really? I bought the limited edition for $78 at HN yesterday. Is this only at Indooroopilly store?
I went to pick up my PRE-ORDER Special Edition yesterday in Auburn HN@Domayne and it WASN'T THERE!!!!!! None left. What should I do? I have confirmation and invoice ID. Called 3 times yesterday, after I had gone in. At 8:30pm the guy said the first person I was dealing with would call around 11am today.. (the manager). Seriously… Why did I pre-order for!!!!!? Hate!!
I've long since given up on preorder, even if the order doesn't go wrong it means you get stuck with the deal at the time of the order, and better deals often come up at release.
Unless there is a preorder bonus you absolutely must have then I think it is a bad idea.
Well i actually preordered with EB but then cancelled that one and preordered with HN cause it was $30 cheaper!! I preordered so that I would get the game on release day at an excellent price. Now they've sold out. No copies. I don't get my preorder. Seems unfair to me. He even told me he sold 4 that day so they had stock!!! complain complain complain

Except stores like JB which often have the better prices give you the difference back if it is currently being sold cheaper than when you pre-ordered.

Not dealing with Harvey Norman again, the person on the phone was very rude aswell.I almost was going to (try) get the game from EB and get them to price match, as I usually would.
but I thought HN deserved some credit this time.
What a poor system they have.harvey norman is hopeless I went in to try and buy the special edition yesterday and there was no one in the games section, had to wander around the store and find someone to help and they said no stock..
just go to JB or EB and get them to pricematch, also I think big w has the standard for $75.
Surely they can get stock from another store transferred?
If not, if you care enough to make calls consider telling them if they dont resolve it you will make a complaint to the ACCC regarding it. They shouldn't be overselling stock like that, especially when the OP already had an order with a competing store but swapped the order due to Harvey Normans prices. Its a very bait and switch tactic and isn't fair on you or the competing retailers.
Well I've just called around 5 EB games and all the Sepcial Edition stock they have is for Pre-Orders only.. So I can't even go and buy a copy somewhere else. It's not worth it to get the standard edition when you can get the special edition for the same price.
Talking to JB and they will only price match if the local store has stock… no HN have stock of the SE..

So now the HN girl is saying she is trying to get me a copy and the manager i was supposed to get a call from yesterday only comes in tomorrow. I'm missing out big time because of their stupidity and yeah, overselling. It's unfair.

HN girl called saying she found the game at Penrith, would charge me over the phone and then actually deliver it to my house (I didn't mind)… all good and done…
30 minutes later… the manager they told me was only in tomorrow… well he gave me a call to update me on the situation… said there were no games left.. I told him that they just said they had one in Penrith for me… he said they sold it. Said he's talked to Sony to try get the game for me on Monday… AND for the inconvenience they'll sell it to me for half price.
Wait and see what happens on Monday I guess… if they even get it (doubt it)… and if they give me half of $78 or $68 :)…
Bah… so much hassle… I wanted to play the game so bad… grumble grumble grumble

I picked up my pre-order from Liverpool HN yesterday. They still had a few copies left when I was there, maybe give them a call?
Just picked up the special edition from Gordon HN, they had a couple of copies (like, two). 20% off the marked price of $78, too, so $62ish. This is the special edition with artbook journal, not the $150 Explorer Edition with the shitty figurines.
bummer! That is the closest store to me but I never visit because the staff are too pushy and games section is always at RRP. $62 is a bargain!
Indeed, it was most un-Gordon-HN-like. I figured I'd drop in since it sounded like the SE was hard to find and Gordon is always deserted so might have a few. Plus, it's nearby. It was 20% off all games, too, not just Uncharted. Not sure if that makes it worthwhile for any other new releases where everyone will have it at RRP anyway?
Also, since there was at least one an hour ago it's "in stock", do people want the receipt for price-matching?

Associated details: the guy said that he had a few but they were being delivered from the dock that afternoon (for the Gordon HN the dock is a separate building a couple of streets away). I didn't want to miss out so I put down my name and paid and he said he'd call me when it came in. As it turns out I hadn't even made it out of the shopping centre when it came so I looped back and picked it up. That also meant that I had my name and details on the receipt like a chump, so I've had to edit those out.
Also, sorry for the mediocre scan, it didn't seem to want to scan well.

If anyone who haven't played Uncharted, I highly recommend you give it a go, it will be the best game you will ever play. I'm currently playing through Uncharted 3 for the second time and it is simply "the best game ever made". The graphics is incredible, excellent story and excellent game play. Play the game in 3D and everything just comes alive.
Receipt or it didn't happen. I called my local HN YESTERDAY and they said both copies are @ $78.
Hopefully the whole of QLD branches have that same deal.
