Solid dual fan 5700XT. Powercolor cards are really good. I'm rocking a reference Powercolor hooked up to a water cooler, it comfortably overclocks to 2.1ghz - very good card. I believe that is the case across Powercolor's range.

  • Amazon US… Yea shipping times RIP

    • Thanks for that heads up, didn't notice at first.

AMD must respond to NVIDIA announcements soon by the time this ships. Major price cuts and new affordable GPUs.

    • With or without Prime? And are you speaking from experience?

  • I'm torn. No immediate issues running games with my r9 280x but not running at max, certainly not at 1440p anywhere over 60hz even at lowest quality settings. Was about to commit to a 5700 xt but the recent announcements of the 3070 launching at (usd) 499 and promising double the performance of a 2080 sounds too alluring.

Also, I've got a freesync monitor (that popular dell gaming one from last month) on the way - will I still be able to hit 144hz at 1440p if it's an NVIDIA card with a monitor that only has AMD freesync?

    • Yes - Freesync monitors now work with G-Sync. I had mine working with my old GTX 1080 before I jumped on a 5700 XT.

3070 launching at (usd) 499 and promising double the performance of a 2080

You're confusing 3070 with 3080. 3070 will only be a fraction faster than 2080 (and that remains to be seen).

  • I'd take the Gigabyte Gaming OC, too little is known about this card, heck it isn't even named.

    • I found a review here that pits it against Sapphire.

      • Where's the junction temperature? Where's the GDDR6 temperature? These are a lot more important. That's what I mean.

        • Hah. Such plain looking cards are not interesting enough for tech jesus to test.

    • It's one of the thinnest 5700XT's so I doubt the thermals are even half decent. There's a reason why 5700xt's are so thicc

      • Red Dragon is pretty good at 38mm IIRC.

        Edit: 41mm.

No. Must be below 500 after the introduction of massively remarkable nvidia cards.

    • Spot on. These need bigger price cut.

My budget is 400 AU max as I am 1080p gamer, can't afford to go 1440p and still rocking intergrated intel GPU. Waiting for new AMD announcements soon.

    • I think it would have to be $400 for me. I hope AMD's showing is good.

      • Yes actually it must be around 400. I was being so nice maybe haha.

Prices are way too high now. This is such old tech after the recent announcements. A 3070 looks like the sweet spot. Happy to wait.

    • What will happen with all the current cards on the market. They all seem so overpriced now. 😳

      • 2080Ti is way overpriced now lol
Anything over $800, just get 3070 instead.

    • Imagine if the new big navi isn't as good as the rtx 3000 series.

It probably won’t be. But Nvidia now have a big price gap in the low and mid end market. The 3070 starts at $800 which is still quite high.

AMD could compete in that space. Though I wonder what Nvidia will do in that regard.

        • fun times ahead.

    • I think a 3060 would be better value for money if they decide to do one, a 3070 is overkill for most 1080p gamers

  • -1

    3070 is only $800 guys…

    • +1

~40% more money for ~40% more performance

The flagship parts like the 2070S to 2080ti are all dead, but the actually mid range cards like the 3060 won't come for a while.

  • Does this include any of the free AMD promo games?

  • RX 5700 XT from PCCaseGear A$579, great RMA service.

  • Would a R5 2600 bottleneck this gpu @1440p 120 or 144hz?
