  • it's Kind of Shady selling discounts, if the markup on your iphone 4 battery case is an indication, this is 90% profit…

  • First off, I'm just an OzBargain punter, not a rep for either site involved.

Secondly, the iPhone case does have a battery in it, but yes, you could most likely find something for a LOT less than $109 ($38 is reasonable for non ebay users).

Third, don't you reckon 5% off your grocery bill is a bargain? Shady? There are loads of places 'selling' discounts - another good one is

    http://www.entertainmentbook.com.au/

It's basically another way of doing a loyalty scheme, only better than the piddly 1% the supermarkets offer on their cards.

does it involve any shipping fee when getting coles/woolworth gift cards?
If not, then it's quite a good deal.

    • I wouldn't think so.

      • Not quite right. They do charge a nominal shipping fee. I have emailed them before about this. If I find the reply I'll post it here.

        • Jeez, it costs $5.50! Kinda defeats the purpose. You'd need to buy $120 or more to start saving anything.

        • $5.50 is wrong see Kare Kards entry below.

    • lots of places giving discounts on woolworths/coles gift cards, but shipping just kills any savings

      • no shipping fee for Coles gift cards bought by entertainment book members.

  • Very tempted. Anyone got any experience with JigoCity or KareKard?

You can get it (or anything from that site) for $8 less if you get this as well
    http://www.jigocity.com.au/national/jigopointbday
    it makes this deal $11.95

    • They will have a set discount on certain item…

ie you will only get $5 off with this deal…

I am one of your victim :) I thought I can get it for 11.95 though…

Bought one last time around. Delivery of giftcards costs $0.95 or $3.45 for registered mail. Third FAQ implies that all affiliates will accept karecode for online purchases. They do not. Specifically bought for online grocery shopping. No joy. Neither Woolworths or Coles accept. Woolworths will accept the giftcards, but the hassle of getting them is too much for me personally - unless I had a pile of giftcards to buy and were willing to pay for registered post. Had a particularly unpleasant interaction with Woolworths 'customer care' about the karecode business. Not happy Jan.

    • Sounds a bit dodgy then. Might be better off with the entertainment book. That has a lot of other types of tear out vouchers for restaurants and hotels too.

I revoke the 'dodgy' comment due to the response below.

    Hi Everyone, Kare Kard here.
Tas, if you are unhappy with the program, please make contact with us and we are more than happy to refund your membership fee immediately.
For everyone concerned, the Kare Kard program does charge postage fees for delivery of gift cards and tickets. 0.95cents for standard post and $3.45 for registered post. We don’t charge any credit card fees on any transactions, although we are charged and we also pass the savings that we get from our suppliers directly to our members. ( ie: Coles give us 5% off pre purchase gift cards, we give our customers 5% off )
We do try to make it very clear on our website how the program works, what offers are available and how they can be redeemed. Because of the large amount of retailers we work with, it may take some time to read each offer, however we do encourage, especially with any third party marketing for daily deals companies that members should read the terms and conditions and FAQ’s to ensure they understand how the program works.
We are always happy to answer any questions that people have regarding the program and if we can be of any further assistance we can be contacted on [email protected]
The program may not be to everyone’s liking, but it does suit a lot of Australians and we do listen to customer feedback. We feel our FAQ’s and website content are clear, however if we can make them clearer, or if you have any suggestions to add to them, please let us know.
    Thank you - KK

Thanks for the info. I got my gift card postage prices from the Coles and Woolies gift card sites. Good to hear that it can cost 95 cents.

  • You would be a fool to buy a gift card and get it by ordinary post. If it gets lost you are up the proverbial creeek and no one will refund you a thing as these things are treated like cash!
