Litres per minute: 6 …. let's hope it's water LoL

        • +2

          You've been reported.

  • What are these like compared to the ozitos from Bunnings?

    • +4

I don't see any Ozito Petrol pressure washers?

Considering the cheapest petrol powered washers are $300+…this seems to be a good deal. If it's not some price error.

      • +1

this seems to be a good deal. If it's not some price error.

It is not pricing error. They had this same product for $100 few months ago, now reduced further. Also, it is listed at same price on SCA website, but you won't find any stock in Sydney area.

  • Seen a few pressure washing units on OzB lately, is 1900 PSI enough to clear grime and mould from concrete driveways / brick paths?

    • +3

Yes. It's enough to start etching at it.

    • +2

It certainly is; I purchased exactly this unit last year to do my brick-paved driveway (over 200 sqm). It was cheaper than renting one.
They're easy to start (one pull most of the time) once you lock the gun open.

However, the standard fan nozzles are too time-consuming - imagine painting your driveway with a 1" brush - so I bought a 'turbo nozzle' that spins a needle jet to cover a larger area.

Results were not perfect - more pressure would obviously have helped - but satisfactory and removed decades of dirt in a few hours.

      • There are better options to clean driveways
        http://pressurewasherpower.com/accessories/best-pressure-was…

        • I considered those but they were much more expensive, obscured the work area and seemed to be just a couple of small fan jets so not as effective as a turbo.

Some pavers - under bushes, for example - had nectar or sap that required extra attention and would have been awkward to focus extra effort on with the deck cleaner in the way.

It would have been good if a deck head had been more powerful, the turbo nozzle splashed muck everywhere so containing that some could have avoided having to wear waterproof pants. :-)

          • @AnneThrope: I would recommend one for next time, they work really well.

The turbo nozzle works because they spin the water jet so it hits the surface from multiple angles. The surface cleaners do the same with multiple jets under the cover :)

You need to consider the flow rate too, this will be what saves you time doing to the job. If time is of concern for you.

      • +1

This, the flow rate on the cheap machines is so low they are no better than most of the electric ones, but far noisier.

  • Amazing price! don't know about the complete unit but I just bought the very same handle nozzle from a toolshop for the same price as the complete unit here. The handle was to replace leaking handle from a Gerni. The handle is really good quality with quick release so + 1 from me! edit: just realised I paid more… the included spray nozzles I purchased for $15 extra :(

  • +5

Excellent price. Tip for anyone buying that hasn't had a petrol one before, don't leave the motor running if you're not actively using it. The pump in these will overheat quickly if water isn't following through the pump.

  • Doesn's 1900 PSI sounds a bit low for a petrol pressure washer? Or does PSI means differently between manufacturers' specifications?

    • +2

Definitely on the low side. Usually the petrol ones are rated for 2500-3000 psi. But for $80…..

  • Is this too much pressure for washing the car?

    • +2

Not too much pressure for washing the car, just be sensible and don't use the 0 degree nozzle 10mm from the car.

    • This doesn't have much more flow or pressure than a standard electric pressure washer and is pretty safe on car.
Good part about it is you don't need extension cords and stuff to use it, just attach a hose and let it rip.

  • +1

Electric or Petrol pressure washer for washing the car?

    • Either or, I prefer the petrol one, but that's a personal preference. This would be good for pressure washing where you don't have access to a power point.

    • I'd like to know this too.

    • +1

Either is fine, your preference. The thing that usually give's trouble is the handle which leak and this handle is very good quality for this price point.

    • Petrol one is noisier, in that it is always making noise. Electric ones only make noise when they are building up pressure.

  • Is only a 12 month warranty a concern? I think the electric aldi ones have a 3 year warranty?

    • +1

Yes, I went through 4 pullstarts under my warranty. now its gone again and cant use it

  • +1

Is this thing noisy? I know when I'm washing the car the electric unit doesn't make any nose when I'm not using it… Assuming this would be like a lawn mower sitting next to me the whole time

    • +1

You're correct. Your neighbours will know your washing the car.

      • +2

        May be whole street :)

    • Very noisey.

  • +3

I have this and wish I went electric, this is painful to start, cuts out very easy if trying to move while running and is just a heavy clunky unit that takes up too much room in the shed. Oh and very noisy

  • +7

    People get bamboozled by PSI.

1,900 PSI at a lousy 6 litres a minute? Pathetic. PSI means nothing if the water volume is out of kilter.

The going rate for a 1,500 PSI machine is 13 litres per minute. For a 3,000 PSI its 15 litres per minute. That gives you the optimized cleaning power.

I sold pressure washers for many years for four different companies..

    • +15

"I've sold m̶o̶n̶o̶r̶a̶i̶l̶s̶ pressure washers to Brockway, Ogdenville, and North Haverbrook, and, by gum, it put them on the map!"

  • The psi on this is very low for a petrol one. For the convenience I’d go for an electrical gerni.

I’d want a lot more grunt from a petrol one

    • +1

No it isn't. Petrol motors are nowhere as efficient as electric motors.

Example. A 3,000PSI at 15 litres per minute has a 3 phase 7.5HP motor. To get that from a petrol motor 10HP is required.

The eBay category listed is Health & Beauty > Health Care > Monitoring & Testing > Blood Pressure Monitoring!

  • +1

Gad dannit, missed out. Been waiting for this.

  • Guaranteed price error!

    • not a price error, these are cheap chinese units. they are usually in the 100$ price range.

  • +1

These are terrible. I went through 4 pullstarts and they make you return it for repair each time and wont send you parts. then the warranty runs out and shes good for nothing

  • The zip cord gives me a headache and shoulder pain. Too many years of dodgy starter motors in my whippersnippers. Hopefully this one will work easily

      • Just ordered again. Let's see what they say when I reply to their stupid email with that.
Postage was $6.95 to my place outside Darwin. $42 to a property in Darwin. Weird and stupid as well.

        • I also got that email, still chasing my refund nearly a month later, Have you by any chance received your money back yet

          • @Loopyf: I paid via PayPal and got a refund on the 7/9. I'm still waiting for the second one I ordered. I sent them an eBay message last Monday when it passed my delivery date. Still no word.

    • Is this for the blackridge washer or the stanley at $99 wayne7497 is referring to above?

      • Blackridge. Postage was $50 for the Stanley today.

        • thanks mate for the clarification
