  • This or Dettol?

Camelx3 said $4 is normal price $0.17 cheaper

    • These were $3.50 not too long ago

      • Aren't these often half price at Coles and Woolworths anyway, maybe around $3, or has the half price specials on this stopped since everyone started panic buying?

  • What's the difference to this and a disinfectent that's 5 times cheaper per L? I feel like I've bought a 5L jug for less than $10 before.

I know this is a bargain website and we are all out to find the cheapest goods, but consider these before purchasing an anti-bacterial product:

    • Do you need to use it? Usually anti-bacterial products only target very limited number of bacteria strains, the description "hospital grade" here is meaningless as they would typically use multiple products to achieve the effect they want. Soap acts to rupture the fatty layers of cells (bacteria and virus) and adequate rinsing ensures that all the nasty stuff are taken away

    • Do you know how to use it? You need to use these products in specific concentration and leave the products on for a period of time to achieve the outcomes as described by the manufacturer. If you just do a half-effort here, you might be creating "super-bug", that is insufficient strength used, killing only the weakest germs and leaving the stronger ones to continue to breed, thus one day creating bacteria strains we could no longer control.

Sorry for the long post, but super-bug is a real problem we are facing today and what we do and use in our daily lives contribute greatly to this.
