I saw this at Harvey's today, they are selling out all their stock of Samsung (Apple air clones) at $1000 off retail price for $1498. Looks like a good deal much better then the old $2499 price tag.

Edit: It's an i5 model, it's was an inspire price mark, will try and upload pic soon. The price on the unit was $2499 and yellow ticket said $1498 asked the guy why the big price decrease he said they were clearing out stock

        i'm sure that's a lot to do with it not having graphics. none of these new intel ultrabooks have dedicated graphics. that's the price you pay for having an incredibly thin and light laptop.

    Was hanging out for an Asus Transformer Prime to complement my laptop, but this is really tempting…. now I'm wondering whether to forget about the Prime and sell my laptop to get the Samsung?!

    Anyways, other alternatives are Acer Ultrabooks & ASUS Zenbooks and of course Apple Macbook Airs too =)

      according to kluger's link above it's the i5, but according to Samsung RRP is $2,299 not $2,498 as HN says it is.

      In any case the price drop was imminent with Acer Ultrabooks & Zenbooks hitting the market.

      on jb hifi site they have a compact flash card cost 3 times higher than from another site i found.
      So there is a possibility that they till make profit after price drop.

    I dont think they actually sold any of these ridiculous priced sammy lap. The reason they do this I reckon is because acer aspire s3 is about to come. Last time I checked with salesman he said s3 was in the system already but no stock yet. The basic s3 starts at $1100 with 2gen i3 and 320 super thin hdd, with $1600 you can have 240g ssd and i5 with a 13mm thin laptop, It is said that the batt does a good job on standby. So anyone looking for a ultrathin laptop, u need to be patient:)
