Was browsing around a few online stores today and noticed this deal. Looks to be the cheapest it's been this year and with it potentially retiring might be worth picking up.

Steamboat Willy has been out of copyright for years. Disney can try and freshly trademark the animation all the want, the cartoon itself is in the open domain now.
Also why isn't Pete in the set, the big dog thing that fights with the mouse.
Some people say that the original copyright was never valid because the copyright notice was laid out in the wrong manner and thus it is in public domain, but the copyright status hasn't been tested in court so we'll never know.
If the 'never properly copyrighted due to the copyright notice being incorrectly formulated' argument was found to be invalid, it would expire in 2024, thanks to the multiple copyright extensions passed through the lobbying of Disney.
I personally hate these copyright term extensions. IMO It should be a much shorter period - long enough to give the author the chance to earn a living, but not long enough that culturally important works will never fall into public domain within a person's lifetime. I think 40 years is reasonable.
It seems to me that Disney just wants to have a last gasp at licencing the cartoon before it's absolutely clear that copyright has expired.
Disney also for a while made a snippet of Steamboat Willy one of their official logos, turning that snippet into a new trademark.
I click on the "Find Store" button and nothing happens.
Same - entered my local store and bugs out. Can't even change it to another, no matter what I do. Some things are just not worth the hassle.

"Consensus" amongst Lego fans means little as Lego sets buck predicted lifespans and retirement trends all the time.
It released in April, 2019 so that make its lifespan a little over a year thus far which is on the shorter end for any Lego theme. It's showing as "Hard to find" on the Lego S@H site, but it's not yet listed as officially retiring soon.

Whatever your source, if it's not showing as "Retiring soon" on the Lego S@H site, chances are it isn't. Some sets just don't have that long of a production run and thus there's fewer stock available out there, but that doesn't mean they're closer to retirement or won't have more production runs in the future.
