[NSW] Imperfect (Ripe) Strawberries Tray of 15 250g Punnets $8 @ Harris Farm (St Ives)

130

Strawberries are perfect but ripe. Remaining trays later in the day might have a few bad/mouldy strawberries. Still great value at ~53c per 250g punnet. Bought a few trays to eat and freeze.

    @ Harris Farm St Ives

As I was going to St Ives……

  • I remember they got down to $5 last time. They were some of the sweetest and best quality strawberries i've ever had. I bought 2 trays and froze them.

  • Good for making your own jam!

  • Blueberries 2 for $10 or $5 each??

    • +1

Always the same price to buy singles at Harris Farm. Good marketing, encourages some people/the less observant to buy more but doesn't penalise those who only want one. They have some excellent specials at times, much cheaper and better quality than Coles and Woolies.

      • Very smart, can’t trick an ozbargainer however!

Only needs someone to be literate. They put the unit pricing at the bottom of the sign.

  • Nice. I wish the bakery inside would discount their products when nearing the end of the day too.

  • Big oversupply of Australian strawberries due to no backpackers available to pick them!

Handasyde Strawberries owner Neil Handasyde said he would struggle to find enough Australian workers to pick his crop this year.
Mr Handasyde said JobSeeker unemployment payments were acting as deterrent to people finding a job.

“We will take every Aussie person who wants to pick strawberries through the season, and always have,” he said.
“While JobSeeker remains high, I can’t see many of those people making the effort to find work.
“There’s not much incentive for people to do the job.”
