[ACT, VIC, NSW] 2 Free Months of Everyday Extra (Existing Subscribers) @ Everyday Rewards

1011

For those of us stuck on an existing subscription not eligible for the $35 annual plan. I canceled auto renewal 2 days ago and just got an email extending my subscription by 2 months.

We are aware that you may have been impacted by the temporary supply issues we've experienced as a result of industrial action at our Distribution Centres. We acknowledge this is frustrating, and understand that you may not have been able to get the full value from your Everyday Extra subscription benefits at this important time of year. We're pleased to share that the industrial action has been resolved and we're working hard to restock our shelves as quickly as possible.
To apologise for the inconvenience, we’re giving you 2 free months on your monthly plan. As you have requested that your plan does not auto-renew, this means your current subscription period will be extended until 18 February 2025.
You don't have to do anything. Your 2 free months will be automatically applied to your account.

I auto renewed on my account (I was offered $35 annual renewal in line with recent offer, didn't need to cancel)
And I have also received the same email

  • +10

We didn't cancel ours and got this, received an email that they were adding 2 free months onto our current subscription

  • I cancelled over a month ago and it looks like it auto applied to my subscription too.

  • +1

You have to pay to get rewarded?
    Ned Kelly would be proud.

    • -2

You have to pay to get rewarded?

      always…

  • I cancelled mine two weeks ago, no email….

    • -7

looks like you missed out, it is for existing customers.

      • +1

The poster canceled auto renewal 2 days ago and got an email extending their subscription by 2 months.

        • +2

You can cancel auto renewal, but your membership is still active until it expires

          • @jv: I don't have an 'auto renewal' option, only 'cancel plan'.

            • +1

@dami: There is no difference really. I cancelled a few weeks ago and received 2 extra months. Try contacting support if nothing comes through soon

        • +1

I cancelled 2-3 weeks ago and also got this, but I didn't want this extension - as mine was about to expire & was going to renew with the $35 offer (before it ends next week).

  • Just checked my account. Due to auto renew in December but theyve already applied the 50% off the upcoming subscription

    • +4

They didn't do that for me
      I feel discriminated against 😢

      • I probably dont meet a threshold where giving me the discount makes it unprofitable for them. I generally shop at Aldi and only top-up shop at WW

  • Got it too. Thanks Woolies

  • I am on $35 and got this extension as well.

  • Hi, where do you find the auto-renew function? I'm trying to trigger the above-mentioned deal, however the only thing I can find is 'Close your account'… which I don't is what I want to do 8)

    • +2

I'm trying to trigger the above-mentioned deal

It has nothing to do with cancelling auto renew. It is for existing members impacted by the warehouse strike.

      • Ah! Thanks jv, obviously didn't read the spiel thoroughly enough.

  • +4

Nothing here! But I am in regional QLD and we weren't affected. So maybe it is targeted by state?

  • +13

I remember I got a bonus two months when they removed the "online" codes and made the 10% in-store only.
Then they backflipped, brought it back and gave me 2 bonus months.
    All smiles at the time….
However….your yearly subscription will now trigger in January/Febuary, not in November/December which bypasses the black friday half price deal and now costs you $70…a nice little reward that screws you.
Well played Woolies! (Obviously we are smarter than that and just used one of the other many cards we have😏)

    • Yeah I noticed that. Thanks for the idea of getting another card

      • +1

Sadly, your new card will grant you a month free trial… which starts your yearly sub in January. Screwed again!
Next year, I will just rotate back to my original card around Black Friday.

        • Maybe get a new one around October next year, can overlap slightly

    • -2

which bypasses the black friday half price deal and now costs you $70

      That's only for new members

      • +1

        No

        • -2

          Yes

          • +1

            @jv: Still no

          • -1

@jv: I didn't want to play with you today but ok…
            You are wrong.
Anybody who's subscriptions renewed in November/December triggered a renewal at $35.
I would think you would know this from all the comments in previous posts..just look at the first comment in this post.

            • -1

              @Puglife:

Not true, mine always showed $70 for my Dec renewal…

              • @jv: Ok, I guess you have evidence. You would have signed up and be in your 3rd year I assume.
Anybody who signed up last year got this repeated again this year. I guess we will wait and see.
I figure the deal is for new subscribers/ ex subscribers, I guess I will just wait till next year. If all else fails I will just get another card.

                • -1

No, my first year membership ended in late Dec, now that has been changed to late Feb.

                  …………for The *First* Year

                  • +1

@jv: Do I need to spell it out?
Discounted offer is available for returning subscribers if the timing is right when membership ends for some
Offer is available from 00:01 (AEDT) 06/11/2024 to 23:59 (AEDT) 18/12/2024 and is for new subscribers or previous subscribers without a current active subscription only.

Discounted offer is available for returning subscribers

Not existing ones that still had an active one…

                      • @jv: Which is not what you said first, and not what most were planning to do

                    • @Paul B: My subscription ends 18/12 presumably at midnight.
While some people have seen the auto-renewal amount at $35 mine is still $70

                      • @jebdra: Missed it by 1 minute. I guess switch to another family member account, or wait for the next discount that could be before black Friday.

            • @Puglife: Sorry, but this not the case. It's not everyone. I suspect it's only those people whose renewal feel into the $35 order period who got it.

My renewal is due 18/12 and I didn't get the offer

              • @jebdra: My renewal is 15/12 and I did get this offer, I did not get the $35 renewal (and this extension makes it worse for me now).

Was going to sign up after it lapsed, as the 1/2 price sign up goes until the 18th, so I had 3 days… But not now 🤦‍♂️

    • I think we're jumping to conclusions here. It could still renew next year at half price, that's what it says in my account.

      Next Billing Date: 16 February 2025 ($35/year)

I'm sure there's a case to be made if you screenshot this and they later change the price.

    • My exact thought!!

  • I cancelled earlier this morning and just received this now. Very good timing.

  • Currently on the monthly $7 plan, what's the best way to get a discount?

    • +1

what's the best way to get a discount?

      Get an annual plan

  • +1

    Nothing for me!

  • +1

Is the $35 annual plan the one that everyone holds out for?

  • +1

This is good in one way, getting a free 2 month extension is always nice.

But it is also possibly bad as many people will be on the black friday 1/2 price deal which currently would renew during black friday each year so you get the $35 renewal again, but now it will renew outside the black friday period (early Nov to mid Dec) so renewal may well be back to full price of $70.

[edit: just seen someone already posted this]

    • +2

I thought the same - could be a very sneaky/clever masterstroke from Woolies!

  • I'm on an existing subscription (cancelled late last year then rejoined in April when the $35/year offer was available) but haven't received an email or any extra months automatically applied.

I've just cancelled the auto renewal which I was going to do anyway, so will keep an eye on my account for the next couple of days to see if I get the extra two months - I doubt it, but you never know.

  • My next billing date is Feb 25 - is that already extended? I have tried to stop.

  • Good deal, wasn't so lucky. No email.
Does anyone know if Woolies has patched up being able to use the 10% off online and in-store? Since last month, I've only been able to use it once per month.
Also , how many cards can a household have? We've got 2 at the moment but looks like we'll need 2 more if we're to get 10% off every week.

    • Yes, they patched it

      • It still works for me and also at big w.

You just need to use online before you use it in store.

        • +1

I used it online in the first week of November, and it wasn’t available in store after that

  • Also got an email from Everyday Rewards automatically extending by 2 months due to the industrial action that just took place.

  • I'm on an existing subscription and got the e-mail.

  • +1

Mine now renews in July, missing the May/June half price offer they had this year

  • This has been automatically applied to Delivery Unlimited subscriptions as well

  • is it worth it to get the extra membership for $35? speaking as someone who's never had it.

    • It depends how much you spend, if you do one big shop $100 etc once a month you save $10 x12 = $120 - $35 fee your $85 better off.

  • We got it on 2 active annual accounts the reasoning being empty shelves recently due to the worker strikes.

  • @jv

    fakernews

I just got the email too and did something…

    Hi Cob,

We are aware that you may have been impacted by the temporary supply issues we've experienced as a result of industrial action at our Distribution Centres. We acknowledge this is frustrating, and understand that you may not have been able to get the full value from your Everyday Extra subscription benefits at this important time of year. We're pleased to share that the industrial action has been resolved and we're working hard to restock our shelves as quickly as possible. We know you reside in WA but feel some people tend to be excluded from these gimmicky promotions we offer so have decided to include at random people throughout the country

To apologise for the inconvenience, we’re giving you 2 free months on your annual plan. This means your next annual payment will still be on 23 May 2025.

You don't have to do anything or you could do something. Your 2 free months will be automatically applied to your account.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

How is this a deal? They’re just extending everyone’s subscriptions to try to get in people’s good graces after getting rightfully bent over by the union. I don’t see how it’s accessible to anyone else.

  • +1

Mine was due to expire on 15 December, so was all set to renew at half price on 16 December. This two month extension's good, but I really hope there's a half-price deal in February…

    • Luckily I had already cancelled auto renewal last month so I didn't get this offer and my sub expires on 15 Dec - this is one offer I don't want to get.

      • I'd cancelled mine too and had it conferred on me, willing or not, so you should probably see if they've given you this 'upgrade'…

  • Yesterday I went on to everyday chat to say my sub expires 19 Dec, missed the promo by 1 day, anything they can do - they said yes they can actually end the sub now and let me take up the Black Friday offer!

Then he said yours expires 19 Feb, I was very confused and told him I was sure it was 19 Dec. He claimed there was some promo last year giving an extra few months, clearly it was actually this 2 month extension instead

  • I'm not sure why I would need this but get this when I go to deal:

30-day free trial Get your first 30 days freet, plus cancel your subscription any time. Then $7/month or $35 for your first year (normally $70)

    It's it worthwhile for $35?

    • +2

Depends on how often you shop at woolies and how much you spend.

I got the $35 offer last year and I've saved $379 over the year.

It's a no-brainer for me. It would be worth it at $70, but I'm an OzBargainer, I've cancelled and used a separate account to get the $35 offer

      • Cheers for that - $35 and free trial may as well jump on it. Will just have to do bigger shops once a month but usually go few times a week grabbing couple of things if going past. Seems like I am eligible for once at least, haven't used it before.

      • Ps. Probably not worth it for me, tend to do small frequent shops at Coles, Woollies & Aldi depending.

  • +2

Crappy attempt at damage control by Woolies. Should have just paid their workers fairly and removed their draconian Amazon esq practices at the start.

$75 mil and counting down the drain and a further hit to their already poor public image. Idiots.

I won't be shopping with them anytime soon.

  • My partners Everyday Extra (EE) is due to renew in January (at $35) and he got the 2 months extension email. My EE just auto renewed (for $35) on 30/11 and I did not get the email and the 2 months extension is not showing on my EE account. Expiry still shows 30/11/2025.

Given this I rang Everyday Rewards Customer Service and after checking the agent advised this 2 months extension was only offered to those in ACT, VIC and the Riverina areas of Northern NSW.
This does not make any sense as my partner is in none of those. They could not give any explanation for this and did not offer anything. Pretty poor that their own staff don't know what is going on and why.

Pretty crappy that Woolies extend some customers EE by 2 months and not all. Maybe they picked by random selection or they think only some people were affected by the Industrial Action.
Either way, not good for me and is quite annoying that they haven't just done an across the board extension for all current EE members.

    • +1

so your husband got the bonus when he wasn't meant to? why complain about that if you aren't in an affected state

  • -2

If you are a member of this you have no right to complain about the cost of living. It's funny to see all the people in the comments flocking to this rubbish.

  • +1

Confirmed with Everyday Extra that it was only offered to "customers in ACT, VIC and specified regions in NSW".

  • Cancelled my imminent auto-renewal, which I was going to do anyway as it wasn't half-price. Curious but not expecting anything, and haven't received any offer or extension after almost a week.

  • Anyone know if i can use the 10% code instore for a purchase of $600?
