          • @ph81: Voucher number is at order history at Kogan website as well, Did you try with the correct code?

            • @bazingaa: Yep definitely the correct code.

            • @bazingaa: Decide that my partner could use the voucher I got and tried again.
              Success.
Was worried I'd have to swing by 7Eleven and fill up the chopper prior to flying down to Victoria.

      • I am also getting invalid voucher error. Did you manage to sort it up ?

        • Well technically I didn't get a solution, but all I did was use this for my partner who had already ported out and was porting back in as a new customer and it worked. I bought another one for me and it worked.

  • Jus bought for a Sydney address and charged $9.90. Should I be concerned?

    • +2

      Yes, Sydney isn't in Victoria.

      • +9

        But I thought we're all Victorians…

      • I've received the voucher, what problem should I be anticipating?

        • Likely none unless your sim card goes to a Victorian address lol. Just don't activate it until you need it or at least by 14th Sep, as your 90 days starts as soon as you do. It will also override existing time if you use it to recharge existing account.

  • Legend, OP! How did you find this?

    • +1

      Am subscribed to Kogan emails

  • +5

It. Does. Not. Check. What. State. You're. From. 😉

    • I was waiting for this!

    • -1

U have to remove the free sim tho

  • Whats the expiry on these?
Edit: read the full post 30-Sep-2020.. not long enough for me.

    • +3

it is actually 14-Sep-2020 for my voucher.

    • +3

I got the mail with voucher mentioning "Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEST on 14/09/2020."

  • -7

    I'll be leaving Kogan mobile.
    Complete garbage.
    Reception cuts out.
These days I constantly have to reconnect my network just to get 5 min of internet

    • +7

Kogan is not garbage. Try moving elsewhere. Its not the same everywhere, for everyone.

    • +1

I have had similar issues with, believe it or not, Telstra. Turns out 4G reception at my place was choppy at best. Manually set my mobile network to 3G in phone settings and it's been working flawlessly since then. Try this it might help.

Any1 got this deal? I bought some, and didn't get to use them all, now I can use the sims😁

  • Thanks OP - awesome deal !

  • +2

Cheers for allowing existing customers to access this deal

  • My current Kogan account expires 01/09 so perfect for me, purchased then immediately unsubscribed from their incessant marketing emails again..

  • any chance that they disable the ability to recharge existing accounts with these?

    • +3

I thought so and recharged right away sacrificing few days

      • +2

Me too. Losing 6/90 days when those 90 days only cost $14.90 to get the next 90 days for $9.90 is a great deal.

  • Hi Guys. I just purchased a simm. Used my QLD address for delivery of simm. Payed with Paypal. Worked fine. No issues. Also just received the voucher code too.

  • Anyone ported their existing number? Was the process seamless or any issues?

    • +2

Last time it was seamless and only took 2 mins, Belong to Kogan

      • Porting from Belong to Kogan. Did you have to select post-paid or pre-paid? I noticed someone mentioned in the belong thread that Belong is post paid.

        • +2

Belong is Postpaid, we need to use account number from bill as well as I remember.

          • +1

@bazingaa: thanks, shouldn't be any dramas then.

      • +1

Catch to Kogan for me a month ago took only a few minutes on a Sunday.

  • +2

Good timing. My Amaysim plan expires at the end of the month.

Email with voucher says "Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEST on 14/09/2020."

  • All good here, thanks O.P.

  • Purchased thanks OP. My current Optus plan expires next week so perfect timing

  • +2

The deal says 'New Victorian Customers Only'.
Does not say 'New Customers in Victoria Only'

I am a Victorian, currently locked in NSW, apparently, they are shipping to NSW as well.

    1. It is NOT for Victorians only. Everyone in Australia can order it and use it.

    2. It is NOT for new customers only. The voucher code can be used for recharging by existing customers.

    3. The voucher code email said the code had to be used by 14 September 2020 rather than 30 September 2020.

    • +1

The voucher code email said the code had to be used by 14 September 2020 rather than 30 September 2020.

      Kogan obviously made a mistake.

I took a screenshot of the Offer which says Expiry on 30 September 2020.

If they refuse to manually recharge it on 21st September 2020, I will take it to the TIO, which cost Kogan $30 in Fines.

  • +1

has anyone gone through a change of ownership with Kogan mobile before? How was the process and did you have any trouble porting out afterwards?

    • +1

Such a ridiculous process, they make it incredibly hard. Had to go through it with Kogan Mobile late last year. If you do a change of ownership, you forfeit all the unused credit/data/etc (if you've already applied a recharge/voucher code to your service, and it hasn't expired yet, you will forfeit that and all associated benefits yet to be used too), and, they need both the new and old account holders on the phone at the same time, to speak to the customer service operator.

      • +1

thanks, I might leave it until i port to vodafone or something and head in store to fix it.

        • +1

I would prob give voda store & kogan a call & find out their requirements, before doing anything.
I happen to see an ownership transf at JBhifi, all parties seemed to know what was required and the number transfer optus to telstra completed in minutes.

      • There are always exceptions to the rule, but I think this would be quite normal.
All parties need to be protected, as well as the community at large from bandits.

        • +2

Yeah, but forfeiting already paid for inclusions? That part is stupid!

  • +2

Devastated to see catch 90day no longer avail at entry price….

Makes sim swapping harder, and I've only done it once:(

    • +2

Some members are sim slutting between Kogan 90 days & Belong starter packs when they are on special. You can buy a couple at once as sims are valid for 12 months from the purchase date.

Belong $25 Starter Pack for $10 @ Officeworks will give you 3 Months 22GB.
Belong $40 Starter Pack for $20 @ Officeworks will give you 3 Months 82GB or 4 Months 23GB

      • Cool thanks,
I need to reread the belong threads,
I read it once and got super confused months ago

I'm also considering doing 90day kogan swap with 1month something else and then back to kogan

As I've realised that optua reception in my house is often abysmal

        • AFAIK, it has to be 31 days, not 30 days. You will have to recharge a starter plan in order to reply Kogan SMS or go through other assistance/headache.

    • Amaysim has an $8 offer for 3x months.

      • expires 31/08 though

      • this always confuses me. is that $8 for 84 days (28 x 3 renewals)? Or $8 per 28 days for the first 3 renewals ($24 for 84 days)?

        • Eligible Customers will receive $12 off their Eligible Plan for the first 3 consecutive renewals. On-going is $20/28 days. Valid until 11.59pm (AEST) on 31 August 2020.

          • @CVonC: thanks, that ends up being $24

  • -1

How do I port my number to Kogan? am in NSW but will take a chance.

  • Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEST on 14/09/2020.

  • Deals like this are great for data, at least for me. I've never had a need for voice calls as I have a separate plan for that purpose. So there's no need to port in/port back.

    • +1

Deals like this are great for calls/sms & data. Why spend more on a separate plan?

      • Saves me hassle for porting in/out

        • +2

No hassle for me, takes almost the same time as activating a new sim.

        • +1

Please hand over you OzB badge.

    Bought in WA
    I am rebel

  • -1

Kogan have just changed the Offer:

    1) They say "OFFER EXPIRES 30-September-2020". If they don't honor it, screenshot it and take it to the TIO.

    2) They have removed the VICTORIA ONLY requirement.

I just bought, put my NSW address in, and it Ordered successfully.

So try it, even if it failed before!

    • +3

They have removed the VICTORIA ONLY requirement.
No. Promotion in link still states:
Kogan Mobile Prepaid Voucher Code: LARGE (90 Days | 20GB Per 30 Days) -
      New Victorian Customers Only

Like others, I ordered yesterday, received voucher - not in Vic.

      • You're a legend! You dont leave any SIM deal :-)

I feel bad missing out on the $0.99 deal in Jun'2020. I would've taken this $9.90 deal if it came with some cashback. Last time I had taken it from Groupon with Upsized Shopback 40% Cashback, had got this same deal for $5.03.

        Those were the days!
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/7336926/redir

        • Got the 99c Deal.
Using this voucher to recharge it next week.

          • @INFIDEL: Same here. Was on 99c deal which is valid till this week and now this for recharging next 90 days.

    • +2

So is the new voucher applicable for recharge?

  • +1

Paid $9.90 and processed with delivery to NSW. Will see if it comes.

    • @navjay, can you help to look at the terms and conditions in the voucher email, does it mention that the voucher is applicable for recharge as well?

The previous voucher which expired on 9/14 is applicable to recharge as written. But Kogan has updated the expiry date to 9/30, I want to make sure it is applicable to recharge before I buy. Thanks.

      • I bought mine at 1am this morning. It's still 14/09

        • I don't know if it will work as an existing recharge. O.o

I'm a bit worried to buy.

Also, is this a new change where the $4.90 voucher can also be used as an existing recharge?

          • +2

@BrainDead: I tried. Only 20G 90 days one can be uesd to recharge. The $4.90 one cannot.

      • +2

It worked <9am today as a recharge.

The $9.90 one and not the $4.90

      • +1

If you are already a Kogan Mobile customer, simply login to your account, click recharge, choose your plan type, then enter your voucher. You will not need a new SIM Card.

  • +1

Why I'm not jumping the gun on this one, is i'll take it and suddenly there will be another good deal, proby with Cashback on Groupon, or CatchConnect might throw a surprise. Aarghh.

    • +3

That's why I feel so dirty now - I've locked in for 3 months @$3.30/mth. Never know when next good deal will turn up.

Until end of month on $10 35GB Amaysim with $21 cashback (they gave me extra 30GB for my Birthday!). It was ported from another Kogan Deal.
And 99c 40GB Kogan, to be recharged with this Deal.
Have signed up for one of the $1 100GB Circles Deal for end of month. (Use with caution!)
      Streaming a lot of movies🎬

      • +2

You've really blown the budget there spending $3.30/mth for the next 3 months.
I hope you've still got a job in these unprecedented times.

        • +1

I lie awake at night worrying about it😃
Hope life is treating you with kindness🍯

      • +1

Do not have NBN internet (typical $50-100/mth) at home, never buy a mobile plan deal with more than 3 months.

I stick to these 2 rules and take advantage of all the starter plan deals. Monthly Cost will be $10-$15 including unlimited phone use and 80GB+/mth data.

        • +1

Yes - just cheap mobile data for me.

An old 4G mobile handles home data: Wi-Fi, Google smart devices, & streaming.
Currently on $10 ($21 cashback) 35GB Amaysim (plus 30GB Birthday month bonus). Changing to $1 100GB Circles for next month.

Main 4G mobile (dual SIM) is used for data out of home & calls etc.
It has free Amaysim (receives incoming calls & txt a year after the initial 28day credit) for long term main number for incoming calls.
Other SIM changes most months for outgoing calls, data, etc.
Currently 99c 40GB Kogan, recharging with this 3 month Deal.

And tucked in my bag when out of home, is a free powerbank, charger cable, & free 4G Telstra phone from a Deal (locked, so only to use on free WiFi) - as backup, just in case.

          • @INFIDEL: what is the free Telstra 4G phone deal?

            • @samehada: EXPIRED free Telstra Essential Plus - basic 4G phone someone found how to order free 20 month back.
Could be unlocked, but I didn't bother as was sluggish & screen cracked so easily.
Good as backup on Telstra & other free WiFi. So threw in bag & forgot about it.

    • You can check Woolies one. There was $20 cashback from Shopback last week (hopefully still there) and the $20 starter kit was for $10 with bonus data in August (I think total 11GB if you activate in August). Net profit $10.
      (Woolies mobile online order only).

      • That was a nice deal. Its expired now though, back to $20 for 11GB.
But worth a shot. If the $30 Starter Kit again comes at Half-Price $15, then can take that for a 30GB Plan with $20 Cashback, net $5 Profit. Not bad I'd say. Will wait for it.

Thanks @bajirao for pointing out. I wasnt aware Shopback started Cashback on Woolies Mobile Pre-Paid "since 13th July 2020"

Cashback is applicable for pre-paid plans since 13th July 2020.

Will the $10 1GB Prepaid Plan still give $20 Cashback? Its available now too. Can use the $10 profit from here to buy this Kogan $9.90 plan and port in again by 14-Sep-2020.

        Gullible!

Effectively 10c profit for 61GB data and ~(21+90) days validity.

        • Yes the 5GB was half priced at $10 (so better than 1GB) plus had 6GB bonus if activated in August. It's no longer available so your strategy of buying 1GB + this Kogan is good. The Kogan deal is incredible because it allows you to use voucher on recharge so don't have to port back and forth.

  • Just tried. My kogan sim card expired. Im I'm from NSW. Removed sim card in checkout. Used kogan credit with new address. Wait for 2 minutes. Get voucher code in email. login to kogan mobile and use voucher code successfully

    See you in 2.5 months

    Thanks Op!

    • Kogan will ship SIM to you regardless of your location. I ordered twice and both shipped.

      • As stated in comment - SIM was removed from order. There is no SIM to deliver.
So no SIM will be shipped.

I did the same - order completed after sending voucher email. Have to many Kogan SIMs & using voucher to recharge existing Kogan account.

        • +1

I mean he and you missed out the free SIM. No need to remove it.

          • +1

@Neoika: Both of us are using the voucher to recharge existing account. So we don't need the SIMs

As you say, it's not necessary to remove the SIMs - they'll be delivered.

            • @INFIDEL: btw, do you have to recharge before current one expired or you can recharge after expired?

              • @folira: Can recharge after expiry.
If you try to make a call then, it tells you to recharge.
Recharging days before expiry with 90 day voucher, has been seen to only give 90 days - in other comments.

    • Was the expired sim card from the 99c deal?
