It is ~$100 more expensive than a B450 itx board, but still at least 13% cheaper (or on average ~20%) than getting the same board here in Australia. So I suppose it's good for those who really want the B550 board over the B450 for their new ITX build.

Damn nice, I bought the B450i equivalent a couple months ago at about $230 when I built my system
Was willing to buy this B550i board at the time even at the mid 300s price point if I could buy one, my front panel type C is nothing but show at the moment oh well~

  • FINALLY - INSTANT BUY

    • It's fine if you are slowly building, but says won't get here before September 4th.

And then you need to add on additional wait times for clearance.

All my auspost parcels have been delayed 3-5 business days at the moment.

      • I'm fine with it because I'm waiting till November for Big Navi anyway, and you can update the BIOS without a current gen cpu

Too bad Gigabyte refuses to include a Type-C header, both B450I/550I didn't have it.

    • So this board doesn't support a Front USB type C?

      • +1

Nope, only USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A, which is just renamed original USB 3.0.

I ordered the Aorus B550I from a local store for not too much from this deal but waited for weeks without any signs of being in stock. My ITX case that I ordered from the US arrived first and the Aorus still nowhere to be seen.

    • which case did you get…if you don't mind me asking?

      • I ordered the Sliger SM580. Very happy with the case (very quiet) but wasn't too glad that I had to make do with a slightly inferior AIO. My original Corsair H115i RGB could not fit. Here's my build notes for those interested. Hopefully it will guide anyone who is heading down the same path.

On the side note, my Drop Alt High Profile keyboard arrived and I'm now heading to my next COVID project. Just waiting for the Holy Panda switches to arrive.

    • I've had the opposite problem, my mobo is set to arrive shortly, my case is now end of August apparently.

I believe we should merge our beings and become the one true mITX

      • Did you end up getting the case now? Hope you are liking your new setup?

  • so pricy for a B550 board compare to ASRock B550M-ITX/AC $217.43 deal

This Gigabyte board does feature other improvements or upgrade of components compared to the ASRock board, which account for the higher price.

It's for a different market segment and needs. The ASRock board is perfectly good for a budget option with CPU choices not going above 8 cores and non-overclock.

    • This B550 board got Buildzoid's approval. One of the best VRMs. Its for a different class of users who want ITX but not wanting to compromise on power delivery (for overclocking), system stability and longevity.

  • Got one. Thinking of getting the Kingston A2000 1TB as a secondary m.2 for games and storage, but it's not on the "qualified vendors list"? The Samsung 970 Evo plus is there though (main OS).

Also can't seem to find my RAM (CMW32GX4M2Z3600C18) of choice in the list.

Would it be safe to purchase them anyway?
