Just got an e-mail from USA Foods - they're opening a new store (seemingly just a few stores down from the old one), and offering 20% off everything this weekend. Friday the 28th to Sunday the 30th of October. Worth going down if you're in Melb.

Does anyone import Red Bull Cola into Australia? It's available in North American, almost all of Europe, heck even New Zealand gets it. What makes us so special to not be able to buy Red Bull Cola?
Red Bull Cola is available in the USA but not here. Seems like a good parallel importing opportunity.
Boo… Wikipedia claims: "Red Bull discontinued production of Red Bull Simply Cola in late July 2011 to focus on Red Bull energy drink."
Oh well, no more Red Bull Cola.
What makes us so special to not be able to buy Red Bull Cola?
http://www.news.com.au/traces-of-cocaine-found-in-red-bull-c…
It is only banned in some regions of Germany and all of Taiwan. The rest of the world doesn't care about sub trace amounts of cocaine.
They still promote it on their F1 Cars Lol
I guess it must be pitched at North American expats? I'm sure they do a fair amount of business for the same reason that the British imported food shop up here in FNQ does well: because occasionally, I just want some Marmite ;-)
Because it appeals to certain tastes. Believe it or not, there are Aussie shops like this in America and the UK which stock stuff like Vegemite, which I'm sure locals think tastes like ass.
Yeah it does taste like ass…I like ass.
+1 from my side as well… Obama didnt like it as well :P
two words: Junior Mints!
1 word, Costco! ;)
Very cool, thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately it's a little far from me but if I do happen to be in the area I will definitely drop in for some Dr Pepper… yeah…
Saw this and got reminded of Staples. Anyone remember that? :p
Trying to put the little guys like Dunder Mifflin out of business.
No chance with Robert California in charge!
Bear in mind that they're pretty expensive to start with.
Yeah, they are. Last time I looked their prices online seemed higher than they are currently. Still, shipping from USA is starting to get pretty expensive as well :/
Some items at USAFoods are cheaper than supermarkets - If you see its just the big items that are expensive. it does come from across 10km of Ocean. =.=
what. 10km of ocean ? and i've been paying thousands to go on a plane to USA JUST to cover 10km of ocean ??!? ridiculous !!!
I want Twinkies!!!
I had a box shipped over for Christmas last year :)
Box of twinkies is $12 + The 20% off at USAFoods this weekend
I want to try the original Cheerios.
American candy and sodas are with a lot of corn syrup, seriously not a fan, only things I get from USA foods. Bounce Dryer sheets, cinnamon toothpaste and bulls eye smokey BBQ sauce.
My only issue with USA foods is they never gave what I want when Im interested in buying something , like captn crunch!
There's Cap'n Crunch in stock.
yup saw it there as well
I stopped buying Hershey's kisses from USA foods when I found they were MUCH cheaper at Costco!
Costco don't deliver though :(
Do they have in costco?
What's the price there?
I just bought 2kg pack last week from USA foods for about $26.
If cheap I will surely have a visit at costco.I went a few weeks ago and picked up a bag of Hersheys Nuggets (not kisses) from Costco in Canberra. It was $15.99 for 52 ounces (1.47kg). You could pick up a similarly heavy bag of Reese's peanut butter cups for a pretty similar price.
If anyone is interested, there is a group buy deal for hershey's kisses today. I am not sure if it is any good though but you get 2 boxes of small bags of them for $20 + $10 shipping.

No cheese in a can, that's almost neg'able!
Australia is your issue with items like these. They think it will destroy the agriculture if you import it.
Have you checked your local supermarket? It has cheeses imported from France, The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, New Zealand, etc.
Processed cheese in a can could definately be imported if anyone wanted to buy it.
You are allowed to import a small amount of those packaged/processed dairy products for personal use, however I do not think that USA Foods would be able to do so, because they would be dealing with commercial quantities which is not allowed.
I don't know about you but to me "USA Foods" conjures up images that are , shall we say, less than flattering.
in moderation, you'll be fine
Who went down there? I went down on Saturday and it was ridiculously crowded. I didn't expect that kind of turn out at all. The checkout queues were at least 20-25 minutes long. It was a pretty warm muggy day and the store had no air conditioning (or at least it wasn't turned on), which made it uncomfortable to be in. I don't understand why a store would make all of it's customers so uncomfortable while standing in line. One of the guys that worked there even handed out free cold drinks.
For those keen on heading down, the new store address is 110 Cochranes Rd, Moorabbin.
The opening hours are :
Weekdays - 10am-5pm
Saturday - 10am-4pm
Sunday - 11am-3pm
