I’ve had one of these Royal Doulton decanter sets for about two years. They’re good quality for the price. They’re quite heavy like you expect crystal to be but I don’t think they’re made in the primary factories in England and Ireland, most likely at their satellite locations in Europe. Thus, the quality of the crystal means it might be slightly weaker and more prone to breaking if you’re not careful. Having said that, they’ll definitely be lots stronger than normal glass and if you look after them they’ll give you years of good service.
Here’s a tip: before using, fill with lukewarm water and a tablespoon of vinegar and allow to stand overnight, then rinse thoroughly. This helps remove any leftover residue from manufacture which may taint whatever you plan to put into it.
